Location: Coos Bay, Southern Coast, Oregon, USA (south of Newport, north of Brookings, near Bandon Dunes Golf) View Map

Accommodations:  House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 10-12)

This is a beautiful 2700 square foot, 2 story, chalet or lodge style home on 14 acres in the lush Oregon forest. Come hide away in your own country lodge and yet be only 15 miles from the ocean at beautiful Sunset Bay at Shore Acres State Park, and only 11 miles from downtown Coos Bay, Oregon.

This is the perfect Southern Oregon Coast romantic or family getaway! Why stay in a dingy hotel when you can stay in your own 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath home, with a fully equipped beautiful kitchen?

And now with high-speed broadband internet via a wireless network!

Hot tub on the deck - come soak and listen to the frogs and watch the stars.

There's room for your whole family, or even a couple of families! It's a great property for a family vacation or even a small family reunion.

Our beautiful chalet home can be your "home base" and you could explore the Southern Oregon Coast from Brookings up to Newport. Explore the aquarium in Newport. Drive down to Crescent City, CA and Brookings and see the majestic redwood forests. Then drive back and view the beautiful rugged coastline north to Port Orford and Bandon. Take a fishing charter out and fish for tuna or salmon in Gold Beach, Charleston, or Winchester Bay. Go for a jet-boat ride up the Rogue River at Gold Beach.

Be serenaded to sleep at the house at night by the frogs. The "frog chorus" every evening is amazing - we've never heard anything like it elsewhere. Watch deer in the fields from the front deck. Salmon actually spawn in Daniel's Creek which runs through the property. Blue herons roost in the big trees opposite the house. Blue jays and woodpeckers eat on the deck.

The house is only 2.5 miles from the Coos River and a convenient boat ramp - put your own boat in the river and fish for Steelhead and Salmon.

The town of Coos Bay is only 11 miles away. The nationally ranked Bandon Dunes golf course is one-half hour away. The seaside village of Bandon with its beautiful " haystack rocks " beach is just a couple of miles further south. The Oregon Dunes National Recreational Area is about 15 miles away (the Southern end). From Florence to Coos Bay, the Oregon Dunes NRA extends for 40 miles along the Oregon Coast, and is a mecca for ATV riders. Don't stay in a drafty, noisy RV when you can relax in style at our house. Reedsport is 38 miles away.

You can even go gambling at the Mill Casino on the waterfront in Coos Bay!

Several lighthouses are nearby - including Heceta Head, Umpqua River, Cape Arago, Coquille River, and Cape Blanco lighthouses. Shore Acres state park is nearby - check out the beautiful annual Christmas lights display. It should not be missed! Check out the photos by Googling "Shore Acres Christmas Lights."

In the winter, you could snuggle by the fire with a good book and watch the rain come down. Or snuggle up on the huge leather sectional couch and watch a handful of DVDs or HBO. There's nothing better than resting on the couch with a hot chocolate or a cocktail, and listening to the fire crackle. Or, even better, come snuggle in bed and rekindle a romance! :) We've had honeymooners "hide out" at our get-away on the Oregon Coast!

There is a barn with stalls and a pasture if you want to bring your horses. There is plenty of parking for a horse trailer, multiple cars, or a trailer full of quads or ATVs.

We have a fully equipped kitchen with beautiful granite countertops and a Jenn-Air stove in the island. We stock spices and basic cooking supplies. There are heated tile floors in the kitchen and dining room. A beautiful brand-new maple wood laminate floor brightens up the living room.

We have 3 new updated plush Queen beds.

Take a weekend (or week) and reconnect with your family. Play games with your children all night long. We have a good selection of family games at the house.

If you absolutely must bring your work with you, there is a mini-office set-up with a new HP All-In-One fax/copier/printer. Broadband internet and a wireless network are now available.

The weather at the house is much nicer than the weather at the beach. The fog bank never covers our house and the temperature can be 20-30 degrees warmer at the house in the summer as compared to the beach. And the valley protects the house from the cold winds coming in off of the ocean.

Please send us an email and we'll start the process - come escape to the coast for your own get-away!
