Situated on three acres of mature oak trees, this 2nd story home/apt. has you looking out your window into the treetops. It feels like sleeping in a tree house, but with air-conditioning and all amenities provided. With just under 1000 square feet of living space, you get much more for your dollar than on the beach.
It can be furnished with 2 twin beds, or a queen bed depending on your needs.
Bring your kayaks or canoe as just down the road is launching in the Pine Island Preservation area - with numerous birds, otters, manatees and more to see. Or, you can make arrangements to use our kayaks, sailboats, Stand-Up Paddleboards or learn to windsurf on the Banana River! Choose our Adventure Package for a full week (or month) of unlimited watersports equipment for your use and learn a new sport, too!

We had a wonderful vacation on Merritt Island. The apartment is spacious, the people very friendly and helpful. Location is quiet and a bit out of the way, but beautiful beaches at Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach are only a 20 minute drive away with free parking everywhere.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+.

My family and I have been lucky enough to have stayed at this lovely country retreat twice in four years and is always a pleasure to stay at, the Dornellas family are extremely welcoming and helpful, in fact the first time we stayed Susie showed us where to find the nearest Publix store. For me the beauty of the place is the Serenity you have after a busy day at Disney world, Seaworld or any of the other attractions (not forgetting that the Kennedy Space Centre is less then a stones throw from here) and it`s not far from the Pine Island nature reserve which we have ventured to and enjoyed. And there are local Bars and Grills which are not too far away including my own favourite The Shuttles sports bar and grill, you can venture to close by Titusville or Cocoa beach for other places to indulge yourself in your favourite meals. Overall it was warm, clean, and homely to which the photos do it no justice, it has plenty of room and a great kitchen, plenty of storage and a great outside patio area to have your breakfast or just relax with a beer and the qustion you may ask is will we return as a Family, Absolutely.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Our Stay with Susie and family on Briar Oak was a great 3 months. The property was very comfortable and well maintained. Having Susie and her family close by made us feel just like home... and lots of useful information, too. We have stayed at extended stay accomodations for the past ten years. This was our top experience. We were close to nature and water, but only minutes from town with all its ammenities. The listing description was accurate, as were the photos. There are many things to do in the area. My wife liked the thrift shops and garage sales. While I enjoyed museums, archaeology work, and my bicycle. The beaches are near by in both direction and only minutes away. We are looking forward to our stay next year, and have planned to stay longer. Hugh & Tannis
