Only one and a half hours from the Washington and Baltimore beltways, this three bedroom, two bath, country cottage (comfortably sleeps 10)on 2.5 secluded acres known as Valhalla Farm offers you tranquility and seclusion in a custom decorated country cottage with all the amenities of home. Your privacy is insured, since the property backs up to the 23,000 acre Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area.
Valhalla is beautifully furnished with a fully stocked gourmet kitchen, satellite TV’s (four) and stereo. With almost every room exiting to the beautiful outdoors, the home is light and airy, yet cozy and warm. There is a keeping room with comfy chairs for eating and reading by the gas fireplace, and downstairs is another living room with fireplace that exits to an enclosed patio and private hot tub. Central Air and heat add to your comfort.
A separate satellite TV in each deluxe queen bedroom suite, and the den allow alternatives for all guests, including a CD player and video library. Laminate and tile throughout, with beautiful antique area rugs, this custom decorated cottage is straight out of Country Living Magazine. Choose to lie in the sun on the private patio, laze in the hammock and watch the birds and deer, relax in rocking chairs on the front porch, soak in the private hot tub, or sit around the fire pit at sunset.
The house is family friendly with a port-a-crib, booster seat, baby gate, toys, and a Disney video library. For the safety and convenience of children and pets, there is over an acre of fenced, landscaped yard to play and relax in.
No matter when you visit, the peace and quiet will fill you with the joys of each season. Enjoy the flowering fruit trees in the spring, or pick the ripened cherries, apples, peaches, and pears throughout the summer and fall, or listen to the snow fall in winter.
Nearby are great restaurants,antique shops and the quaint towns of Berkeley Springs and Shepherdstown. The cottage sits adjacent to the 64,000-acre Sleepy Creek hunting and fishing preserve, offering miles of scenic hiking and mountain-biking trails, also with stunning mountain views. During warmer months, enjoy the community lake for swimming, fishing or boating, or travel to nearby rivers in Harpers Ferry or Cacapon for tubing, kayaking and fishing.
Golf at The Woods Resort, adjacent to Sleepy Hollow, or get a massage at the new Sleepy Creek Spa. Fine-dining options and additional spas are a short 15-minute drive to Berkeley Springs. Outlet shopping is located in nearby Hagerstown.
