Great place for a family getaway!

We stayed here for a long weekend for the Fourth of July. With 2 small children we found that is a great weekend to go to Leavenworth. There is a two day kids festival put on by some local churches over the weekend, plus the towns' festivities on the 4th which is also geared toward kids. It was an easy 10 minute walk to town which we did everyday of our 5 day stay. Our 6 year old son brought his scooter and had a blast scootering into town every day. We pushed our 2 year old in a stroller. Aside from seeing town everyday, my husband and I were also able to take turns going for bike rides from the unit. One loop from Leavenworth to Plain to Lake Wenatchee and another out and back up Icicle Creek Road. Both rides were great! I also went to the spa. And we still had time to take the kids swimming every evening before dinner and get to the arcade once. Everything is so close you don't waste time going places, it is all right at your finger tips - we didn't drive anywhere once we got our groceries on day one! We will definitely be going back! The unit was clean, quiet and had a great selection of movies, nice kitchen with all the stuff you need to make most basic meals, and a washer/dryer all in a nice sized unit. All in all we were very happy with the condo and the location! The only negatives were: * The view is nothing to write home about. You look out onto the parking lot of the hotel next to you. Since you rarely see anyone out there the unit still felt private, the view just is not terribly attractive. I honestly wasn't bothered since we weren't there for the view, but some folks might not like it. * The real negative for us was that the pool for the condos wasn't as clean as I would like. The water was really cloudy. On our last day there we decided to try the hotel pool instead and it was GREAT!!! The water was clear and MUCH warmer than the one for the condos. I don't honestly know if we were technically allowed to use that pool, but the condo pool kept getting cloudier by the day and I didn't want my baby to get sick since she was the one most likely to swallow the water. I expect the condo pool just isn't cleaned as much as the hotel one is. * There's no Wi-Fi in the unit. Not that big a deal since we were out and about so much, but it would have been nice to not have to get the extra 3g coverage for the ipad for a few days. All in all a great deal for the price! Book it & enjoy!
