Just returned from a wonderful week at the Villa. We had 10 women escape their hectic lives in Cleveland and relax in this picturesque villa in the hills of Firenze. The villa itself was more beautiful than the pictures. We loved every detail of the home and especially were thrilled with the modern bathrooms with blow dryers included. Lady MIna prepared us a meal that was delicious. Enrico served it to us in the lovely garden. The location was perfect. To get to the bus was a 25 minutes walk down hill and we took cabs home for about 30 euro. This was also a great launching pad for multiple trips to the surrounding sites in Tuscany. We used the recommended driving service which was wonderful. I have already recommended this lovely villa to friends and family. Thanks to the Berni family for sharing this jewel.

We stayed at the Villa Berni for a week in September, 2011. There were six of us, three couples, and we had lots of room inside and out. The villa is beautifully restored, yet retains an old world charm. Alessandro, Enrico and Arianna were very helpful, both in our preparations for the trip and during our stay. The kitchen is very well equipped. We cooked dinner there nearly every night and ate in either the spacious dining room or outside in the beautiful garden. One night Mina cooked us a delicious and authentic Tuscan dinner and delivered it to the villa. It was marvelous! We also enjoyed a wine tour which Alessandro arranged for us. The villa is located in the countryside yet very close to a bus stop to catch a bus into Florence. That was very convenient for sightseeing in Florence. It is also a great location for a tour of the Tuscan hill towns. We had a marvelous time and wished we could have stayed longer. We hope to return soon.

We stayed at this villa for 3 weeks in October 2008. The owners Alessandro, Arianna, and Enrico were extremely helpful in preparations for our stay, as well as while we were on site. They recommended several tours of the area which we thoroughly enjoyed, and they also provided very helpful information on places close-by to eat and shop. The villa was exactly as pictured and described. We had 13 friends from the US, Germany, and Scotland join us over the course of our stay and the villa accommodated everyone's needs very comfortably. We particularly enjoyed gathering for meals in the dining room, as well as relaxing in the garden. The location of the villa is excellent -- close enough to catch a bus into Florence, but far enough away in a beautiful country setting of olive groves and vineyards. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful and comfortable place to enjoy Florence and Tuscany. -- Karen, Tracey & friends

We stayed at this beautiful villa with our four adult children for a wonderful week in late July 2008. The accommodations were excellent with more than enough room and relaxing atmosphere. Our hosts were extremely informative and accommodating during our stay. The villa was an excellent location to use as a base for visits to Florence, Pisa, Sangiminiano, Siena and even a long day trip to Venice. There were local restaurants within minutes that provided a wide variety of cuisines and the kitchen of the villa was used several evenings for excellent home cooked Italian meals from the local markets. The villa’s courtyard was gorgeous and provided a beautiful spot for outdoor dining when we decided to eat in. We would wholeheartedly recommend this for any size family or friends and would return any chance we have.

My wife and I lived in the Villa Berni during the summer and fall of 2007. The villa is wonderful! It was completely restored in early 2007 and is immaculate. The outside garden is very private, very beautiful and has a covered area for dining al fresco. Each bedroom is large and fully furnished. Each bedroom has individually controlled air conditioning and heating. The living room is very large and the dining room can seat 12 easily. The tower bedroom with its own bathroom offers a fabulous view of Florence and the country side.To get into Florence we would drive to the bottom of the hill where there is a park and ride and the bus stop. We would then take the bus into Florence which is about a 15 minute ride. Bus tickets are inexpensive and can be purchased at a number of places across the street from the park and ride. I would recommend the bus rather than trying to drive into Florence as it is difficult to navigate and parking is expensive. The Villa Berni also offers easy access the Chianti country side. We would drive to the bottom of the hill and make a right turn and be in the Chianti country side in 5 minutes. We spent many a day in Chianti trying wines direct from many small wineries in the region. There is a wonderful small winery, called Collazzi, only a half a mile from the villa. I would often walk there with guests and get a great tour from the wine maker Alberto. If you go there, tell Alberto Ronaldo sent you.The Villa is run by the Berni family who took excellent care of us. Enrico was our primary contact and was available nearly all the time to help us. Enrico even set up a doctor’s appointment for me and drove me to the doctor’s office when I got sick. He also set up a dentist appointment for our son. In my opinion there were only two draw backs to the Villa. During the summer there were mosquitoes in the garden which, at times, made it uncomfortable to eat outside. I pointed out the problem to Enrico and I think he was going to take care of it.The second drawback is the road up the hill to the Villa. It is a typical small Italian back road which is wide enough for one car, but of course, is open to traffic in both directions. However, I became very accustomed to driving on the road and found the local drivers we encountered to be very courteous. In summary, the Villa Berni is a perfect place for a vacation. The Villa is wonderful, the Berni family will take care of you and its location is conve
