After spending several hours on the internet trying to find a cottage, we decided on Catwalk Cottage and were very glad we did as it was a great choice. It was as described and pictured on VRBO. We had a couple of calls with Holly who kindly answered our questions. The booking process was easy and the agreement very simple and fair. The directions were easy to follow as we drove right to the cottage. Our Camry had no problem with the short gravel road. Holly came to welcome us, make sure everything was okay and answer any questions. A key question I had was the password for wifi. Once I knew it, the wifi worked fine. We wanted an isolated cottage but close to Asheville. Catwalk was exactly that. Most of the time as we sat on the deck, the only sounds we heard were birds singing. The trees were almost fully leafed out which somewhat hid the mountain view but gave a good feeling of being alone in the woods. The cottage was very clean and well furnsihed but could have used a few more pots and pans. We didn't use the heat, a/c, fireplace or grill so I can't comment on those. There is no dishwasher but that was not in the description. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back for a longer one next time.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had such a wonderful time at Catwalk Cottage. From the moment we stepped through the door to music playing and the windows open to let the beautiful weather blow through, we were instantly set in relaxation mode. The cabin was decorated beautifully and had such a homey feel. Everything we needed was at our finger tips. We spent our mornings on the patio sipping coffee, our evenings relaxing on the balcony off the bedroom, and the days venturing around Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Everything you could possibly need or want was within a 10-15 minute drive. The cottage is far enough away from town to give you the mountain feel but close enough if you forget something at the store. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your wonderful cottage.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I brought my family of 4 to the Asheville area for the first time. My mother in law also met us making a total of 3 adults and two kids. We had reservations for an Asheville hotel when a friend of mine said "so are you getting a cabin?". So I decided to check out VRBO. We were on a budget, but I wanted enough space for everyone to be able to spread out after a long day of adventures. This home was perfect. It was centrally located to the different adventures we had planned and was the perfect size. There is a "bridge" on the top level of the home that goes from the main bedroom to the loft. Our kids had no issues being age 7, 9 but it could be an issue for younger kids if they aren't monitored. Don't get me wrong, it is safe and has very good railings etc, but young kids who like to climb should not be on the bridge. The owners will discuss this with you ahead of time. The house was very well appointed, clean and very comfortable. It literally felt like we had walked in to our own home and just settled right in. The communication and flexibility with the owner was great and we had no issues. We arrived at about 2am after getting a late start and enjoying some Friday rush hour traffic at home. The directions were spot on from the owner and our Garmin brought us right in too. Thanks for a very comfortable stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

The cabin was neat, clean and with plenty of extra blankets and pillows and true to the photos. However we were assured that there was wi-fi and when we got there at 4:30 PM it wasn't working. We called them to let them know and left a message. We were very disappointed how unattentive they were, they didn't call back till morning, the bottom line is they never fixed it or brought us a new modem and we were there for 4 days. The living room furniture was uncomfortable for relaxing. The bed on the main floor had a dip and so my husband and I kept rolling to the middle. The cabin was a ways off the main road and not close to restaurants and shopping. Gazebo cannot be seen from cabin, needed assistance in finding it.Owner response: I am so sorry your stay was not perfect for you and your guests! The internet never fails at Catwalk Cottage and is running now with no problems. I wish I had done more for you during your stay. Thank you so much for letting us know about the bed downstairs. We will replace it immediately! Rob and I work very hard to be sure our homes are comfortable, clean, safe and maintained. The experience our guests have here at Brahma Ridge is the most important thing to us. Your feedback is valuable! While we are in the house every week we do not live there and do not have a chance to sleep in beds, cook or browse the internet, so we depend on our guests to point out the needs. I will be sure to leave a guest evalution form each time to ensure a way for our guests to report problems. Holly

We stayed in the Catwalk Cottage for five nights and found it to be so relaxing, accommodating, welcoming, and just all around wonderful! We had never been to the Asheville area prior to this visit and due to both beautiful surroundings, plenty of things to do, and absolutely because of the stay and management of the Cottage, we will be coming back for many more visits!! Rob and Holly were outstanding in how welcoming they make their guests feel and how available they make themselves to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for a great stay!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much Kim. The home was left so clean it was hard to know you were there. Take a look at our other 2 houses here in case you have a need for more guests your next trip here. Wineberry Lodge vrbo #162595 Earthberm House vrbo #142227

My family and I recently stayed in this charming, spacious, perfect cottage! The pictures posted on the web site are an accurate representation of the property but they don't capture the charm, tranquility, or the COMFORT of the cottage! For someone who usually has no problem finding something to say I can't describe the cottage the way I wish so that the simple perfection is depicted. One of the things that makes this spot so perfect for any event, whether it be a girl's get away, couples retreat, family reunion or just a secret hideaway this is a perfect place to stay. I keep using the word 'perfect' but that is exactly what it was...far enough away from town to be quiet but close enough to a dozen places that you were right in the middle of the action. What tops it off more than anything is the customer service. Holly and Rob are the best. I needed a birthday cake, flowers and balloons in the cottage before our arrival and Holly did not fail to disappoint. With almost no information from me she was able to provide the most beautiful vase of flowers with matching balloons and the most scrumptious cake on the earth! We left three days ago and I have already told EVERYONE from here to Texas about Catwalk Cottage. You better reserve your vacation before it gets booked because I plan to keep telling everyone about this jewel of a find!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a very nice visit! The inside of the cottage was very nice, clean and had everything we needed. Even though the cottage is small, all the space was well utilized! The outside of the cottage could have used a little cleaning. I understand it is still winter, however, so I guess I can forgive the cobwebs and dirty grill. Wish the weather had been warmer during our visit so we could have enjoyed the deck. Would love to come back in the spring or fall just to sit there and read and enjoy the fresh mountain air!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Helen. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you back during warm weather for some relaxing deck time. I'll be sure we have that grill clean! Holly
