"Wits End" is a comfortable, clean and cheerful 3 bedroom cottage on a quiet sandy lane 5 houses from the beach. The house is on a large private lot complete with ample windless deck space, a covered deck with dinner seating for 6, a warm outdoor shower to clean off from the beach, patio space in a butterfly garden, parking for 3+ cars and so much more. An easy family house.
The house is a contemporary cedar log house that is bright and well equipped. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a flat panel TV. The second bedroom has a queen bed and sounds of the ocean. The third bedroom has a twin over double bunk (that can also fold to a couch) with individual reading lights and separate twin bed as well as books/TV/DVD/VCR, a large selection of movies and Nintendo game system. The living room also has a large selection of games, books and DVDs. Perfect for families, extended family, 2 families, or anyone looking to feel like they’ve gotten away from it all. Oh...and don’t forget to ask us about some of "Wits Ends" interesting history!
For the kids, a playhouse stocked with sand toys, a sand area and tree swing are located in a gated area next to the house so you can relax while the kids play. We added a warm water outdoor shower to make the transition from the beach enjoyable!
"Wits End" is set up to enjoy indoor/outdoor living at its best.
Lastly, In case you can’t leave work at home or just want to be connected, "Wits End" is setup with WiFi (so at least...if you have to...you can work outisde on a lounge chair!).

Why the Owner Chose Stinson Beach
After years of renting in the gated community of Seadrift, we booked a last minute stay down this street and found out what a great location this is. Close enough to park your car and never move it. Just walk to everything! Just a couple of houses down to the beach with kids or to run down to see a sunset. No long walks to get to a path to the beach like we used to have. You can even get to the hiking trails by just walking to town. After driving all week, doesn't that sound nice?
The Unique Benefits at this House
Guests tell us that the cedar log style makes them feel like they've gotten away because it's so different from home. The logs are softly white washed with ample skylights so its clean and bright. The house is surrounded by gardens to the front, sides and back with something always blooming. The back of the house offers two types of decks - the deck outside the back door is covered and shaded, while the upper deck is sunny with lots of wind protection so even if the beach is too breezy, you can lay in a lounge chair on the upper deck, hear the ocean, see the surrounding hills and enjoy the warmth of the sun. The down sofa in the living room is perfect for the afternoon nap!

We had such a fabulous and relaxing time here with our family! Everything you need is at the house..so much so that we told the kids it was a TV free week:) (of course there are tv's and DVD players and everything you could need) We walked across the bridge to get ice cream every night. Baked banana bread, went to get oysters and hung out in Point Reyes. Barb and Steve were great and so easy to work with. We met a family staying across the street who had rented from them before, but had more people with them next year so Barb recommended another rental for them. All in all, great place, great people, great time! We will be back!

This home is very cute, clean, comfortable and accurately described in the owner's comments. Our family took a short 3 day vacation in Stinson to have a family portrait done. It was a very memorable experience! I agree with other comments, Barbara is nice and very accomodating. We enjoyed the wood burning stove, large selection of games and puzzles, and made a great dinner on the BBQ outside. Walking to the beach was wonderful, very relaxing. We would stay at this home again, I thought it was an excellant value.

My family stayed at Wit's End over July 4th and loved it. The house has a great beach feeling while at the same time being spacious and so well equipped (right down to beach chairs!). Short walk to the beach, but set far enough back to be a bit secluded (and sheltered from the wind!). Great patio space makes for comfortable, easy relaxing away from the beach as well while still hearing the surf. Barbara is great to work with and very accomodating. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your place. We will be back!

We had an amazing vacation at this great home! My husband, myself and our children (ages 20, 10 and 8) all thought it was perfect. We were fortunate enough to have great weather and the younger kids got a lot of use out of the beach toys in the place house. We also found the outdoor shower very useful. Everything we needed was available and the books, DVDs, board games and nintendo games were just a bonus. The entire atmosphere of the house and its surroundings makes it impossible not to relax and enjoy! Barbara and Steve were great to work with......thanks so much for an unforgettable vacation!

My family and I booked last minute. The owner was very flexable and great service. We showed up and the house has the old Stinson Beach small town feel that we love. Everything was great and the short walk to the beach was great. The location of the house being close to beach and next to the rental shop and ice cream shop was perfect!!! Best stay by far we have had in Stinson Beach. We will be back for sure!! Thanks again Witts End. The Hunt's.

Well, we loved staying at Wits End even if we only had one really beautiful day. Sat was iffy, but took some long walks on the beachand got to dig and play, which was great. We brought board games, books, and had your movie selection, so we did just fine even though the weather wasn't the best -- it was still a relaxing break! Thank you!!! We will definitely want to come back! Thanks for all your help - we had a lovely weekend despite the weather!!!! :)

It's been a wonderful vacation and I hate to leave! We spent some time on the beach, but also went to San Francisco, Napa, Sausalito, etc. The house is in a great location and is really adorable. There's really nothing we needed that wasn't here. Thanks again for sharing your house with us-
