We stayed here for a weekend getaway with my two year old son and our dog and it was fabulous. The house is cozy and bright with everything you need - comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of towels and sheets, and lots of nice little touches. The deck and play area were great for my son with lots of toys and a fun tree swing. The location is perfect, a two minute walk to the beach and five minutes into town. The beach is dog friendly and unofficially off leash so it's great for your four legged family members. Barbara the owner is super friendly and was very responsive when we had questions. Overall it is a fabulous place to relax and have fun and we will definitely be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family stayed here for a weekend getaway. It was the PERFECT retreat. Great house, beautiful and comfortable backyard with multiple decks, lovely and accommodating owners, hiking trails you could walk or drive to, and a very short scenic walk to the beach and the town. HIGHLY recommend this place if you are looking for a great beach house in Stinson.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Wow, this is a beautiful beach home! My husband's family have been vacationing in Stinson Beach for 4 generations. My mother-in-law walked into "Wits End" and instantly had tears of joy in her eyes. She said over & over again how this was the beach beach house she's ever rented in Stinson. The house is beautifully decorated, clean, and had plenty of room for our group of 7. The dining room table & picnic table on the back patio were large enough to fit all 7 of us. The BBQ was a great addition, along with the tree swings & playhouse. The back patios were beautiful and offered a relaxing place to hang out after a day at the beach. The house was comfortable, had a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of comfortable beach chairs, beautiful gardens, great patio space, clean, and quiet. The location is ideal too - a quick & easy walk to the beach and only a few short blocks from town (not to mention the bike rental, movie rental, and ice cream shop next door). The owner was very friendly and great to work with as well. We will definitely rent this house again in the future!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I searched thoroughly for a place in Stinson, and when I came upon this rental it seemed too good to be true. I was setting up a weekend for my wife and 1.5yo boy, and friends from back east, who have two small children. That's 4 adults and 3 small children. We had an additional adult for one night, and a few friends drop by who were staying at another place in Stinson (a B&B which was awful... no names, sorry). The layout was awesome. Great backyard space for the kids (sand, toys, playhouse), a deck in the sun, and another covered. We BBQ'ed, got sun, and just relaxed. The kitchen was clean and up to date, with plenty of plates, pots/pans, etc. The living room was large and cozy, with a great fireplace. The bedrooms were big enough, and perfect for the kids to chill out and watch cartoons, while the adults caught up. Okay, here's the bottom line. I will stay here again, and I'll recommend it to my friends anytime a weekend getaway is mentioned. The location is perfect; 70 yards to the beach, 5 minute walk to town, quiet and safe. The house has everything you need to stay comfortable (fireplace/space heaters, plenty of blankets and pillows) and entertained (multiple TVs, board games, movies, books, toys for kids, and video games). Last and not least, the owner was awesome! She was prompt with email replies, clear and concise, and very accommodating. The dryer had a problem, but she told me up front and was in the process of having it repaired. I can't say enough about the Wits End.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We had such a fabulous and relaxing time here with our family! Everything you need is at the house..so much so that we told the kids it was a TV free week:) (of course there are tv's and DVD players and everything you could need) We walked across the bridge to get ice cream every night. Baked banana bread, went to get oysters and hung out in Point Reyes. Barb and Steve were great and so easy to work with. We met a family staying across the street who had rented from them before, but had more people with them next year so Barb recommended another rental for them. All in all, great place, great people, great time! We will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

We had an amazing vacation at this great home! My husband, myself and our children (ages 20, 10 and 8) all thought it was perfect. We were fortunate enough to have great weather and the younger kids got a lot of use out of the beach toys in the place house. We also found the outdoor shower very useful. Everything we needed was available and the books, DVDs, board games and nintendo games were just a bonus. The entire atmosphere of the house and its surroundings makes it impossible not to relax and enjoy! Barbara and Steve were great to work with......thanks so much for an unforgettable vacation!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This home is very cute, clean, comfortable and accurately described in the owner's comments. Our family took a short 3 day vacation in Stinson to have a family portrait done. It was a very memorable experience! I agree with other comments, Barbara is nice and very accomodating. We enjoyed the wood burning stove, large selection of games and puzzles, and made a great dinner on the BBQ outside. Walking to the beach was wonderful, very relaxing. We would stay at this home again, I thought it was an excellant value.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.

My family and I booked last minute. The owner was very flexable and great service. We showed up and the house has the old Stinson Beach small town feel that we love. Everything was great and the short walk to the beach was great. The location of the house being close to beach and next to the rental shop and ice cream shop was perfect!!! Best stay by far we have had in Stinson Beach. We will be back for sure!! Thanks again Witts End. My family stayed at Wit's End over July 4th and loved it. The house has a great beach feeling while at the same time being spacious and so well equipped (right down to beach chairs!). Short walk to the beach, but set far enough back to be a bit secluded (and sheltered from the wind!). Great patio space makes for comfortable, easy relaxing away from the beach as well while still hearing the surf. Barbara is great to work with and very accomodating. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your place. Well, we loved staying at Wits End even if we only had one really beautiful day. Sat was iffy, but took some long walks on the beachand got to dig and play, which was great. We brought board games, books, and had your movie selection, so we did just fine even though the weather wasn't the best -- it was still a relaxing break! Thank you!!! It's been a wonderful vacation and I hate to leave! We spent some time on the beach, but also went to San Francisco, Napa, Sausalito, etc. The house is in a great location and is really adorable.
