Rent a Sunny Apartment Rue Madame: Luxembourg & St-Germain

Year Purchased: 2006

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 6

Paris will be always Paris. The 6th arrondissement is arguably the most Parisian district in Paris. It's centrally located, with easy access to Versailles, the airport, train stations, with myriads of cafés, shops, bookstores, museums, galleries, restaurants, clubs, wine stores, antique shops, supermarkets, etc...

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment

We love that we can go shopping and sightseeing and come back to the apartment to rest before heading out again. It's so easy and convenient! We are also very fond of "our garden", the Luxembourg where we like to sit, read, talk or visit with our friends.

A
Luxembourg Gardens

The Jardin du Luxembourg is the largest public park of Paris.

B
Le Bon Marche

Le Bon Marche ("the good market", or "the good deal" in French) is the name of one of the most famous department stores in Paris. It is sometimes regarded as the first department store in the world.

C
RER Station for the Airport

The Luxembourg station from where the train takes you directly to CDG AIRPORT.

D
Large supermarket and train station

MONOPRIX is a great supermarket! 31 rue du Depart 75014 PARIS Tel : 01.43.20.69.30 Open until 10 PM weekdays Saturdays until 9 PM.

F
SAINT SULPICE and the Da Vinci Code

Contrary to allegations, the line in the floor is not a vestige of a pagan temple. No such temple ever existed in this place. It was never called a Rose-Line.

G
SAINT GERMAIN DES PRES

It's an area located around the church of the former Abbey of Saint-Germain-des Pres. Home to a number of famous cafes, such as Les Deux Magots et Le FLore, made famous by the Existentialists.

Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 6

    • We had a simply wonderful week in Paris and enjoyed so much the accommodations at the Rue Madame apartment. As others have already written, the location is excellent, the apartment is clean and efficient, and the shower much better than the one we have at home. Pary could not have been easier to work with and we were most comfortable in getting the arrangements taken care of with her in advance. We hope to return to Paris in the not too distant future and will certainly contact Pary again. My one recommendation: take Pary's tips along with you when you are out during the day and you will save yourself a lot of time looking for a wine store! Apartment living in Paris just is the best way to experience this beautiful city.

    • We absolutely loved the neighborhood! It is a very quiet neighborhood at night but it so well connected to the shopping areas and the Luxembourg Gardens. It has been recently remodeled - the kitchen is well stocked and the shower is one of the finest that we've used in Paris. This was our first time using VRBO and our experience with Pary Weinberg was really great. We would highly recommend this apartment and we will probably stay here again.

    • This apartment was perfect for us. The location was wonderful with so many nice and helpful store owners nearby, as well as the gardens, the shops, etc.. It was very quiet in the apartment and made for great sleeping arrangements with our 6 month old. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed and furniture comfortable, and the shower hot. The owners were wonderful to work with. My IPhone was on the fritz which contained all of the apartment specifics and Pary seemed happy to help me from the US with virtually no notice. I would definitely recommend staying here!

    • Number 67 Rue Madame is a bright, clean and tastefully furnished apartment with a new and efficient kitchenette and a wonderful shower in the bathroom. It is perfectly located in a quiet, charming, and convenient neighborhood. An entrance to the beautiful Luxemburg Gardens is around the corner at Rue Fleurus. A pleasant stroll across the gardens takes you to the 5th arrondissment with the historical and colorful Latin Quarter, with the Cluny Museum, the Sorbonne, and many charming streets and squares at the heart and soul of the Latin Quarter. At nearby Place St. Placide you can take the Metro or nearby busses to many destinations on the left and right banks as well as to Gare Montparnasse. There is a friendly green grocer and convenient market nearby as well as a friendly restaurant on Rue Fleurus for breakfast or lunch. There also is a new Italian restaurant at 27 Rue Madame serving excellent food and pizza. It is open for dinner only and is closed on Mondays. In this elegant and pleasant neighborhood we felt very much like native Parisians. Delphine, who stopped by on the last day of the visit to collect the keys, was charming and helpful. She miraculously obtained a taxi at a difficult and critical hour and even helped to take down the luggage. I should note that near the end of our stay our visit was marred by an unfortunate accident sending one of us to the hospital, requiring surgery. The owners were most sympathetic and most gracious in allowing us to keep the apartment until discharge from the hospital and we are most grateful to them for their kindness. Mr. and Mrs. Weinberg were wonderful and very easy to work with throughout the entire rental experience. We certainly are encouraged to return to complete our "unfinished business" in Paris.

Hi, Pary, Here's my review on Slowtrav...you are more than welcome to post the link to it on your website as a recommendation, or you can cut and paste from it, if you like. I'm still full of great memories of our stay there...thank you so much! Brenda Excerpt from Brenda's review: "Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas Because this is a new rental, everything inside of the apartment is also new. The furniture is in excellent condition, very comfortable and as clean as can be. There is comfortable seating space in the living room area for six people. Bedroom The queen bed in the bedroom is very comfortable and has a duvet, quilt and blanket, so we chose what we needed to keep us warm in our beds. The bed linen is spotless, crisply laundered and folded. There is a wide selection of sheets to choose from in the cabinet. Kitchen I totally adore this kitchen ... brand-new, filled with everything I dream of finding in a kitchen when I'm traveling! The top cabinet is filled with enough kitchen dishes to keep us going for a full day or two of food prep. Besides the usual dinnerware, there is a stack of cafe latte bowls ... perfect for cereal for my granddaughter and my morning fruit salad and yogurt. Bathroom The bathroom is heavenly! The shower is really large, has shiny-new sliding glass doors and it has the best water pressure and hot water supply of any vacation rental I've stayed. A skylight over the shower floods the bathroom with gorgeous light during the day. We absolutely loved the shower; it was such a treat for us! Agency and Representatives (and price) The English-speaking owners of this apartment are fantastic to work with. They accommodated our travel dates without a second thought, added a day on at the end to help me out when my flight home was delayed, answered every single question that I asked and provided crystal-clear directions with loads of helpful hints in a very informative package,. The apartment is exactly as shown in photos on their website and on VRBO. Actually, it is nicer than the photos show, especially the bathroom. Everything that the owners have listed in their info on the various websites is accurate to the nth degree. I was very well informed by their advertising and pleasantly surprised to find the apartment was everything they promised, and more. Do you recommend this vacation rental to others? I would stay here again in a Parisian heartbeat! I'd recommend this apartment to my best friend, and to anyone else traveling with a group of one - three people. It is perfect for a couple or for two friends, as long as one person doesn't mind sleeping on the sofa bed. I truly loved this location. Walking home through Luxembourg Jardin in the evening, the pathways cooled by the massive shade trees ... it was such a treat for us. We settled in like long-time residents..." • My husband & I spent a week in this apartment at the end of May. The apartment is lovely - bright, quiet & spotless in a charming building. The furniture is comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom are modern and beautifully designed with all the conveniences one needs - very spacious for the two of us. Telephone for long distance and the Wi-Fi are useful as well. This was our first trip to Paris and it was very easy to find the apartment, taking public transportation from CDG airport. The location could not be better. Coordinating our visit with the owners, Pary & Lewis, and their representative in Paris went smoothly. There are numerous wonderful areas within walking distance from the apartment – Jardin du Luxembourg, Vavin, St. Germain and metro stops close by also. There are many nice restaurants and shops nearby as well as the café across the street. I researched many apartments before choosing this one and am confident I made the right choice. We hope to return again. Thank you for such a memorable trip!

    • We recently returned from our trip to Paris. We had a fantastic time and the apartment was FABULOUS! We loved it! It was absolutely perfect for us. The apartment was gorgeous and the furnishings, kitchen and bathroom were brand new. The neighborhood was excellent; so quiet but close to all the cafes, shops and all of the sites. The close proximity to Luxembourg gardens and the metro and RER train were an excellent bonus. I must say breakfast at home the morning we returned home was not the same as breakfast at Bread and Roses café across the street from our wonderful apartment! I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed the apartment. You were so helpful during the rental process and made the whole experience so easy. I hope to come back and stay at your apartment on Rue Madame again someday!! Thanks again!
