Very private and picturesque two bedroom, two bath house located in beautiful Sharon, Connecticut. The house is well located to access the many outdoor activities the area is renowned for. For example: Mohawk Mountain ski area: eight miles drive. Sharon Audubon center (wildlife sanctuary and hiking): six miles. Housatonic river fly fishing: three miles. Appalachian Trail (trail heads as well as short self contained hikes): three miles. Lime Rock Race Track: 12.5 miles.

The house is also conveniently located near many of the area's private schools including Kent School, Marvelwood, Millbrook School and Hotchkiss.

Additionally, Sharon/Salisbury/Lakeville/Kent/Millerton NY/Millbrook NY cultural, dining and commercial locations all generally within 20 - 30 minute car ride from the house.

In spite of all the activities the area has to offer, visitors may be equally tempted to relax and de-stress at home enjoying the serenity of the six acre location and the layout/amenities of the converted pole barn which consists of:

First floor: Great room leading into kitchen. Screened in porch leading off of kitchen. Roomy bathroom with large shower. Utility room with ample storage for skis, bikes, etc. (all floors except bathroom are wide board pine)

Second floor: Bedroom with queen-size bed (and futon couch) which leads out to railed deck (above porch). Bedroom with two twin beds. Bathroom with tub/shower. Hallway with built in desk/cabinets spanning length (approximately 11 feet).

  • We spent a spent a wonderful week in this house deep in the woods. The two bedrooms upstairs are spacious, as is the downstairs great room. The kitchen was modern and well-equipped, and the house in general felt big, modern, yet cozy and full of light. Our two young kids (4 yr and 2 yr) loved the upstairs deck off the master bedroom which was very safe, and we all enjoyed eating meals in the screened-in patio downstairs. Jeff, the owner, was extremely helpful, spending a lot of time giving us advice on local attractions and driving directions. There's a lot of fun kid-centered things to do in the area, and it's also just a very beautiful and relaxing area. We loved it and would definitely consider renting again!

    Of the 3 guests we have had to date, none have left written comments in the guest book. Positive verbal comments we received focused on the house setting, kitchen layout/cooking provisions and the great condition of and overall cleanliness of the house. Negative comments related to the lack of high speed internet and cable TV, both of which have been rectified.
