We are pleased to offer our Westmoreland House, in the heart of the Westmoreland/Sellwood neighborhood. Westmoreland is a vibrant neighborhood filled with antique and other shops, casual and fine restaurants, and beautiful parks, all within a half-mile walk. The center of Downtown is an easy 4.5 mile drive; there is bus access to downtown nearby. It’s near the Springwater Trail and Oaks Bottom Wildlife refuge for miles of biking/walking, Sellwood Public Pool, and Oaks Amusement Park, for the kid’s summer fun.
The house is in a quiet residential area. If you’re looking for a location close to downtown but away from the noise, congestion, and crowds, this house will not disappoint. Nearly all furnishings are new as of May 2007 and include: 2 queen beds, a queen fold-out couch with ultra comfortable spring/air mattress, a portable crib for little ones, linens/towels, fully stocked kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, HDTV with cable and DVD/VCR, high-speed wireless internet access, patio furniture and gas grill in the fenced yard.
No smoking or pets on property.

We travel to Portland yearly to see our son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. We usually stay with them, but as their family has grown, space has become limited and thus we looked for a rental close to their home. This property could not have been closer at a mere block and a half away. We love this area as you can walk to everything from stores, to a local farmers market, to numerous antique stores, to several parks, and to wonderful restaurants, bakeries, and other specialty eating places. The house is well maintained, cute and cozy. We made dinner for the whole family almost nightly and there was plenty of room for the 6 of us to sit down and eat. Not only was the kitchen well stocked to cook, but the outdoor garden gave us fresh vegetables and herbs that we were allowed to use. A nice added bonus! Our stay was comfortable and perfect. We will definitely rent again in the future.

We were in Portland for our son's graduation and our whole stay at the house was perfect. The rooms were a good size, the beds comfortable, and the dining area was large enough so that we could have a group of people over for supper. This made a great weekend that much better.

A very cute, clean and well-maintained home. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly with plenty to do and see within easy walking distance. We would definitely hope to rent this home again the next time we are in Portland. Thank you.

My wife & I stayed in this house while considering a move to Portland. Other than the house not being completely ready (shower curtain wasn't up, had to buy a set of lightbulbs cuz one blew out & there were no more), it was a comfortable and fun jumping-off spot to see a great area of town. It was also a great place to use the ample local supermarkets and just cook and stay in. In truth, it just felt like home. Note: My recommendation for "Tourists without a Car" is for those who only want to see Westmoreland/Sellwood (which is definitely worth seeing) or those who don't mind using the nearby bus stops. Another note which shouldn't be of consequence, cuz you're there to see the town: there's an HDTV, but the cable isn't in HD. Now go out and play!

We just returned from a great trip to Portland thanks in large part to our comfortable stay in this cute house. The owners have gone out of their way to stock the house with thoughtful extras (kid utensils, baby bed, dvds, kitchen supplies, etc). The location is ideal....within very easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, movie theatre, and great local parks. Also very easy to get to downtown by car or local bus (easy to use and one block to bus stop). This house is fairly close to Reed College so this would be a good rental for anyone visiting a Reed student. Be sure to visit the Rhododendron garden near Reed. Thanks for a great stay and we can't wait to return!
