With unparalleled views of Steamboat Springs Ski Resort, Ski View Haus is perfect for your next mountain vacation. Whether you like snow or sun, we've got both. Less than 2 miles from the ski resort and less than three miles from downtown, we're in an ideal location for year-round activities in Steamboat Springs.
Our three-story home sleeps up to 15 and offers a full kitchen and three separate living spaces - it's perfect for relaxing after a great day outdoors. The great room on the main floor has an open floor plan, perfect for gatherings of any size. It showcases our awesome views and offers easy access to the hot tub and huge front deck. The loft (upstairs) has a futon that can be used for additional sleeping or just some quiet time, with its library and desk. The downstairs rec room has games, books, cards, a foosball table and video games. It's a great place to let the kids (or adults) burn off some steam - and the sofa converts to a queen-sized bed for additional sleeping.
Ski View Haus is great for families or large groups. Our amenities include a wrap-around deck and gas fireplace - but we have something for everyone in your party. Very upscale home with a great view of the mountain, (especially from the hot tub on the deck). Super easy drive to the ski resort and downtown Steamboat. Owners have put considerable effort into updating this beautiful spacious and open home. Owners were very helpful and attentive to every question & request. Very clean, high quality furnishings and bedding. Well stocked kitchen, lots of extra towels and linens. Everything you could want in a vacation retreat!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I had a wonderful week at the Ski View Haus over Christmas 2012. The house is located in a perfect spot if you want easy access to the ski resort, but you don't want the hustle and bustle brought on by tons of tourists. We had a great time skiing, and then relaxing in the hot tub and the sauna. The view from the hot tub is great. Jackie, the owner, was very helpful and even set up a Christmas tree for us. The house was as depicted in the pictures on VRBO. It was very clean and well maintained. If you go to Steamboat I would of course recommend the skiing as well as Strawberry Park Hot Springs. I would definitely recommend Ski View Haus to friends and relatives. We hope to go back to Steamboat and stay in Ski View Haus again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed Steamboat Springs! We adored the house from so many different aspects. The description and layout of the home was exactly as described, the location was perfect as it had easy access to many of the features of Steamboat and so clean and roomy for all of us! I enjoyed reading through your scrapbook highlighting the renovation project of how the house came to be and all the great pictures captured as part of your project. The views of Steamboat mountain during the day and evening while enjoying the hot tub were picturesque. We picked perfect activities for our family such as ATV'ing Hahns Peak, White water rafting, horseback riding at Saddleback Ranch, Strawberry Hill Hot Springs and all the great restaurants and shopping in the area. We have been definitely sharing our experiences with our friends and family and would highly recommend this house for a family. Thank you for sharing your vacation home with other families! Our family enjoyed a wonderful two weeks in Steamboat Springs this summer at Ski View Haus! It was a non-stop adventure the first week with all the family including three children and three grandchildren. We took in the rodeo, Alpine Slide, gondola ride, river splashing, horseback riding, Steamboat Lake, fly fishing, golfing, bike riding into town and mountain biking down Mt. Werner. (Our guys enjoyed the adrenaline rush!) Our evenings were spent grilling on the porch, enjoying the view and hot tubbing followed for some by a relaxing sauna! The second week, we had other family members come for a visit! Continued to flyfish and play golf but added shopping and eating at great places! We can't say enough about the Michels' lovely, oh-so-comfortable, gracious house with its many amenities! Great job, Jackie and John! It is a house that allows large groups to eat and spend time together while also providing everyone a chance to spread out and have individual space when desired. The views, fox visits and stunning double rainbows will forever be remembered! We will be back! My husband and I were fortunate to rent Ski View for the month of June, 2012. We felt that we were welcomed with open arms and like it was home and therefore treated it that way. We were in Steamboat for our daughter's wedding and enjoyed having family and friends stay with us also.... Lots of personal space and easy to share with the 3 levels. There was nothing left wanting for our needs other than going to grocery store. Jackie and John left out no details and kept in contact if we needed anything. The caretaker was especially helpful. Amazing view of the slopes, soothing hottub and loved biking the trail with the bikes we were allowed to use. We will miss the fox family living in the culvert and the many hummingbirds . We would definitely return to this ideal location.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I just got back from a long weekend away with 13 of my girlfriends. We had a fantastic time. The house slept all of us comfortably and there was plenty of room to hang out during the day. Great time had by all!Recommended for: Girls getaway.

We have spent the last four Thanksgivings in this home. We love the main floor with its large, yet cozy living room, dining area and Kitchen. This greatroom has plenty of space for cooking and hanging out with a crew. The views are also amazing, especially from the spacious hot tub. The teenagers love to escape to the downstairs game room. Excellent property!!!! 1st off, everything listed and shown is accurate. No hidden surprises. Great owners! The location is amazing with beautiful views and the feeling of being far away when you are 1 mile from most everything! Very comfortable and clean. We stayed 8 nights and truely enjoyed this home and the area. Tubing the Yampa River was awesome! 7 and 11 year olds had no problems and they are still taking about how cool it was. Great area with unlimited opportunities for fun and adventure.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Great home in Steamboat for a family or two. All the accoutrements needed for a fun week in the mountains. The home has a great view of Steamboat mountain about a mile away and river between. Mornings were highlighted by hot air balloons landing in the fields across the valley. The bike trail is easy access and a mile ride into town. Many restaurants to choose from depending on price range you desire. Quality food in all ranges. Great hikes available for beginner to advanced. Strawberry Springs a must as well as a tube ride down the river. Check for the flow first. We were allowed on the river the first day it opened and a quote "hour plus" ride lasted 25 minutes plus we got dumped. Don't lean back when the folks on shore are encouraging you so that you can get thru the falls... Overall, we felt like Steamboat was an excellent value relative to most other Colorado ski towns.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

About the owner: After years of searching for just the right place, we found this house in Steamboat Springs. We wanted a place to enjoy during the winter, to ski our favorite hill, but also a place that would be great year round. Ski View Haus is the place. We currently live in Texas, but like to get up to our place as often as possible, to enjoy the great climate and the four seasons. Someday, maybe, we can come and stay forever. In the mean time, we hope you enjoy our 'home away from home'.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Tree Haus:
We have an awesome view of the ski hill! Though we are not on the shuttle bus system that runs through Steamboat, the places closer to the ski resort just don't have our view. Rain or shine, warm or cold, it's this great, glorious mountain just outside our windows! As well, Steamboat Springs is a great resort. The hill is easy to traverse - you can get from one side to the other in just a couple of runs and a lift or two - and the terrain covers whatever level skier (or snowboarder!) you may be! Combine that with a great town - friendly people, plenty to do and see, shopping and entertainment, restaurants - and we settled on Steamboat as our favorite ski location. The funny part? It's just like everyone says - you come for the winters but you stay for the summers. The summer sun and cool breezes, never too hot, and just cool enough to be brisk in the mornings as we walk the neighborhood. The many shades of green, the glimpses of sand cranes down in the marsh, the river running through the town - it's amazing!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Where to start? Ski View Haus has the views, the location and the amenities. The hot tub on the deck helps you relax, and the sauna inside polishes off the day. You can sit on the deck year round and enjoy the view - or sit inside by the light of the fire in the fireplace and still see it all. Located in the Tree Haus neighborhood, directly across from the ski hill, we are outside of town and just secluded enough to feel like we 'got away from it all', but close enough to everything that Steamboat offers. A five minute drive (or less) or ten minute bike ride is all it takes to reach the river, shopping, movies, the Saturday Farmer's Market or even your favorite cup of coffee. Fireworks, hot air balloons, nature in your backyard - it's all there. Being on the east end of Tree Haus, we enjoy very consistent temperatures inside our house. The sun shines in the windows in the morning to warm the house, and the trees near the house work to tone down the sun in the afternoon, keeping it just right inside. You can't beat it.
