Our modern-style beach house is located in the charming beach town of Manzanita, Oregon just 1 1/2 hours from Portland. Nestled in the pine trees and just a few minutes walk to the lovely downtown area and spectacular Manzanita Beach. The beach is 7 miles long and begins at the base of Neahkanie Mountain to the north and ends at a jetty where you can often find seals lounging on the rocks.
The newly remodeled, stylishly furnished house is also the perfect place to relax on the sunny deck and enjoy the peaceful setting or curl up in a chair and read a book. The kitchen is fully-equipped and all linens are provided. For indoor recreation there are foos-ball and air hockey tables, toys, board games, DVD's and videos. The living room with a RAIS wood-burning stove and down comforters on the beds provide cozy warmth during the winter months.
In addition to the 3 bedrooms bonus spaces include a sunroom with a desk overlooking the trees for writing or painting, a game room and family room downstairs (in addition to the open-plan living/dining/kitchen space upstairs).
As for the town of Manzanita, it is the most charming coastal town in Oregon. Wonderful casual dining (including a fabulous bakery!) and fun gift and clothing shops. There is also an organic market and 2 other small grocery stores, a video store, a day spa and wine bar. Other local amenities include a public library, basketball court, city park with a sand playground, tennis court, sand volleyball and covered picnic tables with BBQ. Hiking, boating and fishing can also be found nearby.
If golf is your game, the house is a short drive to beautiful Manzanita Golf Course (nine hole) or the driving range. Two nearby towns - Nehalem one mile and Wheeler five miles - offer river and bay activities as well antiquing and restaurants. Nehalem Bay State Park is just a few minutes drive or bike ride and offers miles of great biking and walking trails, horseback riding, access to the bay for kayaking, boating, crabbing and fishing.
Sorry, NO PETS or smoking.
