Private retreat on quite cul-de-sac atop Sanderlin Mountain, the highest elevation in the gated community of Big Canoe.
Bearhug has that rustic cabin feel, but has plenty of room and all the comforts of home. The open floor plan allows for an incredible view from every room.
The main level features a great room with cathedral ceilings, wood floors and walls, and a stacked stone fireplace. The kitchen is fully-equipped and the dining room table seats six. There are two bar stools for additional seating at the kitchen counter.
Also on the main level is the master bedroom with queen bed and full bath. French doors open to the deck.
Upstairs is a bedroom with twin beds, a full bath, and a loft that overlooks the great room.
When the weather is mild, enjoy sleeping on one of our two large sleeping porches, each with queen-sized futons.
Unlike most properties, you don't have to get in your car and drive to a hiking trail. The property backs up to one of the many nature trails in Big Canoe.
The resort community of Big Canoe has much to offer. In addition to 15 miles of hiking trails, Big Canoe offers 27 holes of golf among the mountains and lakes. Enjoy dining at the new multi-million dollar club house.
The Tennis Center offers courts both indoor and outdoor, and a state-of-the-art fitness center is complete with weight training, cardiovascular machines, racket ball, and an indoor lap pool. Massage therapy and day-spa amenities are available.
The Swim Club has activities for fun, exercise or just plain relaxation in the sun. A large pool and deck area have plenty of lounge chairs and tables located around the large pool (lifeguards on duty). The pool overlooks the beach and Lake Disharoon. The beach has volleyball nets, lounge chairs, paddleboats and canoes. A three-tiered rock slide is located off of Lake Disharoon inside the Swim Club area.
Lake Petit, the largest of 3 lakes in Big Canoe, covers over 113 acres. The lake is stocked annually with rainbow trout. Canoes, fishing boats, sail boats and pontoon boats are available for rent.
Things to do outside Big Canoe include: hiking at Amicalola Falls State Park and the Appalachian Trail, rafting, canoeing, horseback riding, biking, shopping at the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall, and much more. |
