Casita Del Mar consists of two one bedroom one bath beautifully designed casitas. which have been skillfully created in a Mexican tile motif by local craftsmen.
Wake up in the morning to sounds of the waves and a beautiful view of sunrise! We are on the beach and every room has a water view!
Paddle the 2 person Kayak off the shore and maybe even catch breakfast! There is no fee for the Kayak but bring your own fishing gear!
We provide satelite TV and DSL (broadband) internet in the Vista Casita so that you can keep in contact with friends and family at home! For those who would like to get away from the TV and maybe the "other world" for a vacation - the Playa Casita offers you a hammock, larger library and TV with a DVD player as well as a hard wired DSL connection.
There is a queen size bed as well as a queen size convertable bed in the living room area all of which together can comfortably accomodate up to 4 persons. An armoire is located in the bedroom to fill up with all of the clothes you will not be wearing!
The kitchen and living room are combined for a more spacious feeling. You will have all the amenaties of a full kitchen including a stovetop, portable oven and full refrigerator and necessities such as a coffee maker and margarita blender! You will also find a microwave oven, toaster and lots of utensils. We also provide a hair dryer and beach towels so that you will not have to pack as much for the flight. The marine themed tiled bath has both a shower and tub a mirrored sink and vanity.
The balcony/patio was designed to take full advantage of a comfortable living style that we enjoy here in southern Baja. Padded lounge chairs will await you. There is roughly 900 sq feet of covered indoor/outdoor living area plus a very large patio! You will find this to be very spacious as compared to most other places you considered renting!
As a guest of ours the following amenaties are available to you: a large private area of the sandy beach plus the use of a two person kayak and paddles. A "suntaning" area with lounge chairs on the beach.
The view from the front of your casita is just spectacular! In the winter months Humpback and Gray whales pass by enjoying the warmer waters. You can expect some or all of numerous varities of colorful fish, manta rays and porpoise. There is fishing from our beach in front or you can go after the big guys including marlin,sailfish,wahoo, and dorado-(mahi mahi) by chartering a boat. We can help make arraingements for you!
During windsurfing/kiting season (nov-feb) some gear is available to rent in Los Barriles or you can take a kiting lesson at North Beach. We can help you with this too!
There are many other activities in our area that we can help you access or you can just enjoy a relaxful and peaceful vacation! You will be equiped for that just by staying with us at Casita Del Mar!
The casita is on the property of the homeowner yet is very private.It consists of the middle and bottom levels as seen in this picture and extends from one side of the property to the other. The upper level is our home.

Why the Owner Chose Los Barriles
Anne and I fell in love with Buena Vista & Los Barriles during our first visits 20+ years ago. Now, looking back, we feel even more fortunate to have found such a special place! Our first residence was in Los Barriles. Then in 1998 we had the chance to buy a spectacular lot on the beach in Buena Vista! Seven years later, after selling whatever possible, we jumped into building our dream house Casa del Mar and two casitas, Casitas del Mar. The property was only used by our family until 2 years ago when we opened up to renting the casitas.
I first found this area while exploring for a really good windsurfing place that had warm water and lots of sunshine in the winter! A few years later Anne joined me and we bought our first lot. After moving to the beach we found lots of other interests from kayaking and snorkeling in front to deep sea fishing and protecting turtle nests. Our beach is very wide and, except for times when the winds pick up, is very safe. From April thru October it is more like a big lake!
We hope you will come to discover it yourselves!

I just returned from this property last week 12/3/11 and had an excellent experience. I leased both units which was perfect for in-laws and give the layout & finishes a ten. We thoroughly enjoyed our adventure to Mexico. So very different from our trip to Cabo a few years ago. This was so quiet and relaxing. The location is perfect. With our little rental car we could go in to town or off on exploring adventures. Everywhere you sit, you can see the ocean, even when you wake up in the morning. The casita was great, a nice size and decorated with wonderful Mexican accents.It was very clean and quite comfortable.The property owners and property managers were very available and helpful. In the town of Los Barriles we found lots of places to eat -- the margaritas are wonderful at Las Palmas resort--and we watched kite boarders and just enjoyed the small town atmosphere. Nothing like trying to get the donkeys to move so you can park your car! You have everything you need for a restful vacation.

We stayed at Casita Del Mar in Feb.2010 and had a great time. We rented a quad for a couple days and ran up and down the beach getting acquainted w/the area and folks. Tim was very helpful w/area info. We are very picky about cleanliness and we felt very comfortable, the casita was sparkling. We left windows open at night and could fall asleep and wake to the wave/manta sounds. We would return...and may in Feb. 2011.
Recommended for:Age 55+, sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed the week of November 18-25, 2010. This rental is exactly as described. Very modern, clean and well equiped. Walked out to the beach each day and watched the moon rise each night. It is no problem to get to town from here with a quad. We had the entire property to ourselves and it was quiet and comfortable. The kayak was great once we figured out how to operate it with two people! This is one of the best values for vacationing in Los Barriles. Alma and I found the Vista Casita to be perfect and very relaxing. The weather was beautiful for mid June. The hottest weather we had within the East Cape was only 88 degrees and it seemed to average around the 84 mark. All in all, with the fishing as good as it was, along with the weather and certainly the location and condition of the Vista Casita, it was the best trip we had ever had........................and we have had many. We sat on the patio and watched dolphins, mobula rays, and numerous schools of fish cruise within 200 feet of the beach. There are small reefs within a one minute walk and they are full of life. I saw a beautiful white and black moray eel while snorkeling in just six feet of water, along with many other brightly colored fish. The casita and grounds were immaculately maintained and the bed was very comfortable. Our daughters slept on the fold-out couch and they were also very comfortable......sleeping to 10:00-11:00 AM on most mornings! We also booked the Playa Casita for our friends, which provided the perfect setting for group meals and drinks, but aloud everyone to have their own personal experiences without feeling cramped or pressured. The only downside to the experience was that we only had a week and had to come home to reality!

We stayed at this beautiful property in April '10. Loved it all...Tim and Anne were so helpful with insights into the area, which made us feel all the more adventurous. The 2nd floor Casita was perfect. Our adult son was very comfortable on the couch/daybed in the living room. The kitchen had everything we needed to host a small cocktail party for some people we knew in town and it was fun to have Tim and Anne join the party! The sunrises were spectacular, the beach very clean and walkable. We decided to rent a car after seeing the location, mostly so we could see some sights along the coast. They had great suggestions for local restaurants. It was nice not to be surrounded by big hotels and the noise that goes with it. We would definitely stay here again. We were remiss in getting this review done sooner only because we got home and absorbed back into "the real world". You will not be disappointed in this property!!

We have stayed in other locations near Los Barriles and Buena Vista in the past. Tim and Anne's Casita was by far the nicest place we have stayed. They are friendly and welcoming beyond expectation. The house is beautiful and our room (second floor) was clean and well equipped. The ocean breezes through the windows at night (with the soothing sounds of the waves) were superb. Coffee and huevos rancheros on the large deck with an ocean view in the morning is hard to beat. We highly recommend Casita Del Mar as a romantic, relaxing and overall wonderful experience. Just don't book it during the time we want to return next! We will be back, without question. Thank you so much, Tim and Anne. The perfect getaway. The casita was exactly what the doctor ordered. Very nice one bedroom casita with covered porch and hammock hung between two palm trees. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. The views are incredible, watching the dolphins & manta rays in the beautiful Sea of Cortez. We walked to Rancho Buena Vista for happy hour and felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Up early each morning to see the amazing sun rise on the Sea of Cortez. It does get any better than this. My brother and I stayed at this property in early February on a fishing trip. The fishing could have been better but the casa we stayed in was great! We watched the most beautiful sunrises imaginable while whales and dolphins played out in the ocean in front of us. A sea lion even came by to say hi. Very relaxing.

We recommend your suite very favourably, it was very comfortable and spacious, the beach was right there and town was just a walk along the beach. We stayed in the main floor suite with its large covered patio - absolutely perfect.
