Sometimes when you see photos from a place or a thing, in real life things are diferent... most of the times in bad way... But with this house everytihng is as incredible as shown in the pictures. The house is very private and with the right precautions it is as secure as it can be. The outdoor terrace is perfect to relax, hang around with friends and eat your meals in the most fresh manner. The pool is perfect to expend the hot monrings or to enjoy after visiting any of the near by beaches. The bedrooms have perfect size closets, comfortable beds, and complete showers and bathrooms for visitors to be sure that everything needed is there. And the kitchen is spacious and literally it has everything needed. Playa Pelada is very near walking and is a very private and peacefull beach. Guiones is very near also and simply is one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Complementary with the house, we had a perfect weekend and we can wait to get back there. Agnes is very kind, funny and available for any help the guest may have! We thank her for everytihng! We are still amaze with this house and the area! Excellent weekend!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We have never been to Costa Rica and went in early April. The house is so beautiful and very clean. The pictures must be a bit old because the gardens are so lush and full now. You feel like you're sitting in nature. We loved the open, but covered living rm/dining rm rancho. Monkeys frequently visited the trees and being from NY, that is not a common thing. We loved it! The kids loved the free wi-fi as they could connect to friends back home. The furnishings are lovely and all 3 bdrms have their own bath. Playa Pelada is by far the best beach in the area. Rustic and quiet. Its a short 4 minute walk down a dirt road. Many times, we were the only ones on the beach. Pleda has the only two restaurants on the beach in the entire area (La Luna is the best). Lagarta Lodge is a short walk up from the house and the views are more than you could imagine. Its kind of surreal has to how beautiful the area is. Playa Guiones has more restaurants and you can easily walk there via the beach (15 minutes), but I am glad we stayed in Pelada because it was more "Costa Rica" for us. One final thing; the property managers are Agnes and Jo. They are out of this world. So helpful and friendly and they made everything very easy. I hope we can all go back very soon.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We have been to Nosara twice before but have never stayed in Playa Pelada. This area of Nosara is much quieter than Guiones but an easy walk if thats where you want to be. The beach is incredibly beautiful and has a very good restaurant overlooking the ocean, La Luna. (the only beachside restaurant we found) Also, the Lagarta Lodge is nearby and a must for sunsets. The house is very comfortable and has a beautiful outdoor livingroom, courtyard, and pool. The rooms are very spacious and all 3 have their own bathrooms. The gardens and pool were well maintained, the house was clean and everyone was very freindly. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 children and we had plenty of room and privacy. We would not hesitate to recomend the house to freinds.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

I visited Las Palmas Rojas recently on a school vacation with my family and a close friend. The property was stunningly beautiful. We found ourselves spending most days laying by the elegant pool or on the near-by beaches, Playa Pelada and Playa Guiones. The house was conviently located close to the beach and delicious restaraunts, all within walking distance. The rancho style of the house gave us a great space to relax in on lazy mornings. We were so excited to see monkeys, pesotes, and iguanas up-close on our stay here! In addition to the wildlife, we watched surfers perform on the Playa Pelada, where we were able to grab a bite to eat at a restaurant right on the beach. My friend and I stayed in the loft room upstairs, and found it very roomy and enjoyed having a separate space to connect with friends at home on our computers via the free wifi system. I felt comfortable leaving the house knowing that the property was equipped with an alarm system and each room could be individually locked. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Las Palmas Rojas and cannot wait to return!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Beatiful Place Filled with Ants, Stink and a Robbery

We chose this house because it is in a quiet, undeveloped town. The dirt roads, secluded restaurants, proximity to the beach also added to our attraction here. This house and the town are beautiful but that is where it ends. There are ants everywhere and some of them bite. We were not able to leave anything out on the counters or we would be infested. The two down baths/bedrooms smell like raw sewage b/c there is no stack to release the sewer smell. And we were robbed on our last night there...while we were lucky enough to not lose a lot of our expensive electronics and passports we still lost all of our clothing and luggage. USE THE SAFE! We were upset and the manager told us it was our fault for not setting the alarm...the robbers took crobars and drills to the locked rooms! While we were understandably upset we didn't need insult to injury. We were told this is the 3rd robbery so beware! Cool town just don't bring anything of value. Travel safe and smart!Owner response: Dear LunaSadie, We did not mean to insult you on the night of the robbery. Indeed alarm and safe are intended to protect your valuables, but indeed you cannot put expensive clothing inside a safe. So your advice to other travelers is sound. Do not bring anything of value. This not only pertains to Nosara but to any tourist town almost everywhere in the world. Where there is money, there are thefts. Ants, yes, it is the dry season and they are looking for water. The house is also surrounded by jungle, so bugs will be around. A fumigation of the house is planned as soon as there are no renters. The sewer smell is an issue and we apologize for that and is no longer an issue. Again thank you for your review and we hope that you will return to Nosara in the near future.
