CONDO WAS ACCURATELY DESCRIBED - CLEAN AND MORE MODERN THAN OTHER RENTAL UNITS IN THE BANYAN. LOCATION IS CLOSE TO WAIKIKI BEACH ( 1 BLOCK ) RESTAURANTS, LARGE SHOPPING MALL,WALMART,SAFEWAY, ETC. PARKING AND WI-FI INCLUDED WHICH IS A BIG BONUS OVER HOTELS. FAVOURITE EATERIES- SANDBAR IN WAIKIKI SAND VILLA, HULA GRILL AND PLANTATION BAR, MOOSE MCGILLYCUDDY'S, ROUND TABLE PIZZA. RENT A CAR AND SEE PEARL HARBOUR, SANDY BEACH,NORTH SHORE,HANAMAU BAY,POLYNESION CULTURAL CENTRE. IF YOU LIKE SHOPPING TRY THE ALOHA FLEA MARKET. CHECK OUT ENTERTAINMENT AT THE NEIL BLAISDELL CENTRE- SOME GREAT PERFORMERS COME HERE ( WE SAW STEVE MILLER BAND AND ELTON JOHN WHILE HERE ) . ENJOY WEEKLY FIREWORKS SHOW FROM BALCONY , STROLL KALAKAUA AT NIGHT AND SEE THE SIDEWALK ENTERTAINERS. NEED SOME EXERCISE - TAKE YOUR CAMERA AND CLIMB DIAMOND HEAD ! WE DID NOT USE THE LIVING ROOM SOFA -BED AS WE WERE ONLY 2 BUT WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CONDO FOR LOCATION AND VALUE. THE OWNERS WERE QUICK AND RESPONSIVE TO ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS WE HAD. THE UNIT CAME WITH BEACH CHAIRS,BOOGIE BOARDS,COOLER,ICE PACKS AND THINGS YOU WOULD NOT EXPECT. WE WILL DEFINTELY RENT HERE AGAIN. ' HANG 10 '

The Good and the Bad

The Good: We had a very enjoyable stay in this unit. It is clean and well stocked with a great view. The owners were helpful in the lead up. The building has a great set up for kids. The Bad: There is no DVD player. The sofa-bed is very uncomfortable. The Worst part: After we enjoyed our holiday and returned home, we received a very curt email that we had left the unit in poor condition. We own a rental unit and strongly disagree with the assessment. After several emails we agreed to disagree and said that we would consent to paying the damage deposit if they provided proof of the extra costs they claimed (5 hours cleaning and double the laundry). They stopped responding to email, did not provide proof of the expenses, and did not return the damage deposit. If they had provided proof that they incurred the expenses they claimed, we would not have posted this part of the review. We feel it is important to make this public in case they are doing it to other guests. This has been a very negative end to an otherwise positive trip.

This was our second vacation to Waikiki for which we stayed in this suite, and we look very forward to staying here again next year. The photos and description of the unit itself, as well as the building location and nearby attractions/amenities, are entirely accurate. The suite is immaculately clean and tidy, and very comfortable. The lanai is quite spacious, and offers a decent view of the ocean...what a great place to relax and sip your morning Kona coffee and plan your day! Cindy was very helpful and friendly in providing directions and details about the building and the suite, and she was always very responsive to our questions. We certainly would recommend this suite to any of our friends and relatives who may want to stay in Waikiki.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car.

We stayed in this condo for a month from December 2009 to January 2010. This was our first VRBO experience and it was very positive. Everything was exactly as presented on the web page and Cindy, the owner, was very helpful and patient with all my questions via email about staying in a VRBO unit. The condo is very clean and well maintained and has everything you need. It’s like having your own home in paradise. The owners have thought of everything. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare your meals if you like but you also have so many options of places to eat in the area and many of them offer takeout so you can bring it back to eat on your lanai and enjoy the view of Waikiki Beach. We ate on our lanai almost every night. The barbecues on the recreation deck are a great feature and we had a surf and turf barbecue on Christmas Eve and several other barbecues while we were there. In addition to the kitchen being well equipped, the owners have supplied everything you need for an outing at the beach including towels, chairs, umbrella, cooler, beach mats and boogie boards. They’ve also provided a book in the unit which explains everything you need to know about living in the apartment -- laundry facilities, features of the building, television channels, etc. And the owners are local so you can easily get in touch with them if you need anything. I would recommend this condo to friends and family without hesitation and we will definitely be returning for another stay.
