Location: Paris Arrondissement 5, Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Area), France, Europe View Map
Accommodations: Apartment, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths (Sleeps 6)
Keywords: Apartment
This is a charming three bedroom apartment in the Quartier Latin, near Pantheon, jardin du Luxembourg, rue Mouffetard, a vibrant area. Several buses and metro Censier-Daubenton lead everywhere in Paris: Louvre, Opera, Beaubourg, the Marais...
100 square meters, first floor with lift, 19th century building. There are fireplaces and large mirrors in living room and bedrooms, a Prussian oven in the dining room, hardwood floor. One side of the apartment overlooks a quiet courtyard with trees and a small garden plenty of flowers (which is very rare in the heart of a 'stone-city' like Paris). Two bedrooms with kingsize beds (that can be pulled apart in two separate beds), one bedroom with single mezzanine bed (and a work area below), dining room with an extra bed, living room, one bathroom (with tub), one shower room, separate WC. A lot of towels and bedlinen are provided (and duvets, pillows etc...). It's a nice and peaceful place to stay. The heating works very well (individual heating gaz boiler).
There is a fitted kitchen with microwave, ceramic glass cooktop, traditional built in oven, coffee machine Nespresso, toaster, fridge and freezer, electric kettle, washing machine and a lot of plates, mugs, cutlery, pans...
It is a recently refurbished apartment, sunny and bright, all white, with a lot of French and English books (art, literature, Paris museums...).The apartment is suitable for five persons (or six if using the extra bed in dining room).
Amenities: TV with international channels, hi-speed broadband internet connection with Wifi, VCR, DVD player, hi-fi system, telephone (free for long-distance calls)...
It's a very nice and friendly neighbourhood. Most of the people living in the building are good friends of ours. It's a very lively place, full of café and small restaurants that are open over the week end. A typically left bank atmosphere but not a posh one, more family like, many students around because of La Sorbonne and top French high schools.
The rue Mouffetard (three minute walk) is a typical French street, very pictoresque, with its traditional outdoor fruit and vegetable markets, cheese shops and typical bakeries (with delicious cakes and breads) and groceries. Three time a week is a farmers’ market in Place Monge (five minutes walk) selling fresh products.
The jardin du Luxembourg and the Jardin des Plantes are only 10 minutes walk, Saint-Germain des Prés, La Seine and Notre-Dame-de Paris are 15 minutes walk. Several buses are few steps from our door, subway Censier-Daubenton is five minute walk, subway Luxembourg 10 minutes maximum. It's a perfect place for visiting Paris and enjoying the typical parisian way of life of the left Bank.

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 5
I love the 5th arrondissement where are all my friends and almost all my memories ( my student life at La Sorbonne and then our life with our two children).
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
t's a very lively place, full of cafés and small restaurants that are open over the weekend. A typically left bank atmosphere but not a posh one, more family like, many students around because of La Sorbonne and top French high schools. A Slice of Paris As Sweet As Her Pastries

I have never enjoyed an area as much as this one. The owner's lovely daughter Juliette met us as scheduled, and everything was as we expected. We found the apartment clean and in good order and far more than enough room for the four of us. The floors were a bit old and squeaky, but at my age, so am I. The apartment and the Latin Quarter area around it grows on you, and after 3 days, I really didn't want to leave. The garden flowers were in bloom and very beautiful. Compared to California, Paris is a quiet oasis without the horrible boom-box car stereos that plague America. I was rattled back to reality as soon as we arrived home. So thank you for a little slice of French heaven; words cannot adequately convey the wonderful time that we had in your apartment and neighborhood. Please do try and stop by the Cafe La Bourgogne, it was most excellent, as were all of the pastry shops in your area. I think we stopped at every one of them. I would heartily recommend this property for seniors as everything is on one level: a definite plus! Thank you again for having us! If we are fortunate enough to return to Paris, this apartment will be my first choice for accommodations. Larry, 27-30 May 2009

This was my first trip to Paris with the children and I was eternally grateful for the size and comfort of the apartment. Having one toilet was a little tricky, but we managed somehow and it even became a point of interest for the kids, who had never been to Europe. There are not enough good things I can say about the de Cointet family. Juliette was able to get us an emergency dental appointment without batting an eye, the price was terrific and the apartment was exactly as advertised. It's always tricky renting sight unseen, so I can definitely recommend this apartment wholeheartedly to those who maybe are worried about scams. I will definitely seek this location out again and will recommend it to all family and friends planning a trip to Paris.

I spent 5 glorious days in Paris w/ 7 friends & staying in this fabulous apartment helped make my trip just perfect. The location is great: safe, many shops, cafes and close to some of the sights. The apartment itself was clean, very comfortable, had all the necessary cozy comforts. Six of us slept there comfortably. If you ever go to Paris and want somewhere to stay, I highly recommend this apartment. Elizabeth Rankin, Washington, DC USA

My family of 5 stayed in October 2011. We were met at the appartment when we arrived and taken through everything we needed to know regarding the appartment and the surrounded area by the owner. The apartment was clean and well presented and everything was functioning. The owners have been very helpful both during and after. The apartment was as we expected per the photos. Typical of European appartments the stairs are narrow and steep, but there is a small lift! It is a great appartment very much traditional for the area. It is very roomy (we actually had a spare bed and room) and we cooked and ate in many times during our stay. The location is very central near the metro and the many wonderful shops and restaurants in the area and in particular along Rue Mouffetard which is a short walk providing all the produce you need for dining at home or restaurants for eating out. We were able to walk to Notre Dame with the kids. As a result of the central location there is some traffic noise. However we would love to stay there again and have taken away some great memories of the trip which the apartment was part of and would recommend to friends.

What an ideal place for celebrating a milestone birthday! A group of five women shared this lovely, large and comfy apartment during two glorious weeks (in staggered stages) in October. It was the perfect apartment to come home to and relax in every night (with lots of wine, cheese and bread bought nearby) after our ambitious treks throughout the city all day! The apartment looked just like it was pictured, and we appreciated its "real-life chic" vibe. The neighborhood was everything we hoped for and more. We all took advantage of the incomparable rue Mouffetard every day for fresh everything (as well as a number of little local cafes and shops, with good prices on such things as boots, scarves, gifts, etc.). We bought the best bread (is there any "bad" bread in Paris?) every day from the boulangerie just down the block on "our" street, and even the take-out from the Asian market and the fresh pasta place on the rue Mouffetard were first-rate. The #7 Metro stop at Censier-Daubenton was SO convenient (we rode just about every line--so easy). This was truly a hassle-free experience, with the owner and her daughter a pleasure to deal with. If you want to have a "real-life" Parisian experience this is a great choice, space AND location-wise.

We stayed for a week in early July 2011. The apartment was clean, adequately furnished with comfortable beds and excellent Wi Fi. The apartment is well placed for sight seeing, with the Metro and RER an easy walk. The area is thick with Paris life, markets, gardens, brasseries, boulangeries and restaurants. Our family enjoyed shopping for cheese and fruit at the local markets for a picnic lunch and buying baguettes and croissants for breakfast. It was a wonderful, stress free vacation.

This is a very nice character-full apartment in a great neighborhood. The apartment is a good size and it is comfortably furnished. It suited our family of 5 well. The owner and her daughter were a delight to deal with. The only issue is that the apartment does require maintenance: peeling paint in some rooms, broken door knobs and the ancient squeaky floorboards while not a bother to us must surely have bothered people in adjacent units.

We had a great stay in Paris and the apartment was accurately described on the website. It is in a great location, very spacious and a great building. Michele and her daughter Juliette are as nice as everyone says in all of the other reviews! The only negative comments are that when we arrived there was no toilet paper and there was old soap in the shower from the previous tenants. The other thing that we personally had a problem with was that the only toilet is by itself in a tiny space with no sink but this may be typical of Paris apartments. In the future we will ask more questions before booking. Overall we highly recommend this apartment for those who want a true Paris experience.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It is spacious and comfortable, and the photographs on this site portray it accurately. The location is excellent - very close to the rue Mouffetard, and well placed for metro and bus transport. And it is central enough that one can walk to many places. Juliette was prompt and helpful. We are very happy to recommend it. One warning: the apartment seems to operate on the basis that successive tenants provide basics such as soap for handwashing, dishwashing liquid, toilet paper, lightbulbs, batteries for the tv remote, etc. All were in short supply when we arrived - and finding toilet paper late on a Sunday night at New Year when even "the man who is always open until 2am" was shut, was a challenge! Perhaps this system is standard with French or Paris rentals, but I've not found it in other countries.

My wife and I (living in London) and my sister and two teenage sons (from Melbourne, Australia) stayed in this apartment just prior to Christmas, 2010. I cannot recommend the apartment highly enough. From Camille's cheerful meet and greet upon our arrival, through to the last hours of our week long long stay in Paris, the accommodation was wonderful. Spacious for five adults, very Parisian in style and decor, excellent proximity to shops and public transport, warm throughout and well appointed, the apartment was welcoming after a long day touring the sites. And, the owners even arranged for snow during our stay...excellent customer service! A delightful home.
