Come and relax at our turn of the century farmhouse. The main room is a log cabin that was erected in the late 1800's. Since then it has been rocked up on the outside and had a few additions added. Nestled in the upper reaches of Starnes cove, you can relax on the broad front porch and enjoy the antics of the barn yard animals. Wild animals too sometimes drop by, such as turkeys, raccoons, deer and bear. If it gets too quiet for you, the center of Asheville is exactly 10 miles away.
Biltmore House, Malls, Restaurants, antique shopping, spas, art galleries, festivals and much more are available for you to enjoy there. Local natural attractions are available also: Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Maggie Valley, the Great Smoky Mountains and many more are within an easy 45 minute drive.
After you are done enjoying the many offerings of the surrounding area, you can return home to Cardinal farm and unwind in the jetted hot-tub or sip a beverage while rocking on the front porch swing.

Jim and I honeymooned in the Ga. mountains 19 yrs ago (1990) and loved the chalet we rented for a week. It had an indoor hot tub and was peaceful and secluded. Nothing fancy but very charming and just what we needed. We hope you will find Cardinal Cottage as relaxing as we do.

We choose the Asheville area because of the beauty of the surrounding mountains, waterfalls and abundant activities both inside and outside. The location we choose gave us 22 acres of land to be able to roam around and enjoy more land and freedom with our property.
