  Five of us females staying at Sierra LaMar for a week was wonderful. We had privacy that you don't get at a resort. The villa is secluded which made it wonderful for us to enjoy the pool and be ourselves. We were very well taken care of by Byron who attended to all of our meals and shopping. Byron prepared the meals effortlessly. We enjoyed experiencing the Jamaican cuisine. One fall back, there was no beach close by but we did take a day trip to Negril for beach and shopping. There is no tourist shopping in the town of Whitehouse and you would need transport to get there as the Villa is on a hilltop. We did an evening pass at Sandals in Whitehouse one evening. We had a great time. Shawnette and Claudette were very pleasant and they kept the villa presentable for us. Our transport for the whole time we were here, was by Daniel Lawrence Transportation and mostly driven by Jermaine. We always felt safe riding with them. You will need transport to get around because the touristy things are all at a distance. But, Daniel will be sure to take care of your transport need if you wish. We felt like we were with family the whole time there and we miss them already. Garth was always available if we needed him for anything.

  A group of 10 of us stayed at Sierra La Mar for 12 days, January /February 2011. We had the best vacation, feeling like we had our very own slice of paradise that we could call home. Garth was a great host, totally accomadating and very helpful during our stay. Byron the chef cooked up amazing lobster and many great meals, thank you Byron, we miss you! Shawnette and Claudette did a great job to ensure the villa was tidy, and Danny from Juta tours made sure that his men Michael & Jermaine took excellent care of all of our transportation needs, it felt like we had our own personal tour guides! We would highly recommend Sierra La Mar, its a wonderful change from the all inclusive vacation. The villa is large enough that you never felt like you were tripping over people. The beach was a short ride away, and it was like having your very own private beach. We saw locals swim up from diving for fish, with octopus and squid. Thank you Garth, for a wonderful vacation, we were very sad to leave, we feel like we have left our family behind!!!

  For my first time to Jamaica I was very impressed with this property, Mr. Lee and his staff. I had a fabulous time, the property is absolutely beautiful. Mr. Lee is just the most hospitable and accomodating owner. Also the chef that we had on site was absolutely fabulous, I wanted to bring him home to cook for me :) Excellent Cooking Byron!!!   My wife and I were married on January 22, 2005, one of the coldest months in Chicago. Every year for our anniversary we take a trip. We usually drive somewhere and rent a cabin or villa. Last year we rented a villa up in Canada. It was beautiful, my wife loved it but she pleaded "next year, can we go someplace warm?"...So we chose Jamaica. Based on all of the great reviews and the description, Sierra La Mar seemed like the place to go. LIttle did we know it would exceed all of our expectations. This place is paradise. Mr Lee and his staff did everything in their power to make our stay as comfortable as possible. My buddy Byron, the master chef , churned out meal after delicious meal with little effort. There are passion fruit growing wild on the property, my wife brought one in one day and asked what it was, 10 min later, Byron had prepared a drink using the fruit....Our driver Clinton made sure we got to our destinations safely and had plenty of laughs along the way. Colin, the grounds keeper, made sure the pool was clean everyday, and introduced us to fresh coconut water, mmm. A great, great time. My wife and I, try to go to a different destination every year, but the staff at Sierra La Mar make it very difficult to not be repeat customers.

  Our Jamaican vacation was the best and we do plan to make many repeat visits. I just cannot say enough good things about our stay in the villa and its proprietor, Garth. The villa was very clean and comfortable and easily accommodated my family of six. Garth was an angel and made sure that all my family's needs were met. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle.

  Hi me a group of friends stayed here for 7days we had a blast from the time we arrive at the Airport when were picked up by the jutu tours drivers (Danny & Jermaine) they were nice and freindly and made the ride from the airport go fast. the pictures of the house on the website does not show you the spactular views and sunset the house is wonderfull the staff made us feel like family Garth was wonderful, I love trudy she went shopping with me and introduce me to coco bread which I now love and miss. Stephanie was also very nice last but not least Byron the chef was great he allways kept me full with fresh fruits everything he cooked I loved. if your looking to relax and go out at your liesure this is the place to stay I read 4books while I was there and we spent 1day in negril which was great. we will be going back next year thanks for a great exprience Karen,Tony

  My wife and I originally booked for 2 weeks. We so enjoyed our experience at the villa that we extended for 1 additional week. The amenities at the villa are first class, with the owner, Garth, always available to provide assistance. We would highly recommend this villa for anyone who is looking for something more laid back, and the ability to plan the day's activities at your own pace. Although the villa comes fully staffed, we chose to do everything ourselves. As there was only the two of us, this seemed to make more sense for us. The villa requires either a rental vehicle, or to schedule a driver. On this note, we would highly recommend Clinton as your driver. He was most attentive, and made the Jamaican experience one we will never forget. Once again, kudos to Garth for a truely memorable experience. Mary & Steve

  We had the most relaxing vacation at Sierra La Mar the week of April 18th. There were 6 couples and we each had our own bedroom and bathroom. Our chef Byron was phenomenal! He came shopping with us to the local markets and advised us on what we should purchase or he picked out food according to our menu plans. He used all local food and wonderful sauces. We found that having a late breakfast and then dinner worked for our group. We either laid out by the pool or under the veranda or on the roof deck - everyone had space to get away if they wanted to. The views were tremendous and our sunset pictures will be cherised forever. All of the staff were so helpful, Stephanie and Charnette took turns cleaning and our gardener/pool person and night watchman were always available if we needed them. I would recommend Sierra La Mar for anyone who wants to lay back and do nothing!! We did go to Negril one day to the beach and went to Margaritaville which had free lounge chairs and food and drinks to purchase. Our taxi driver Steve stayed with us and took down the chairs for us and we always had someone with us who made sure we had the best time!!!   My family of 5 had such a fantastic week staying at Sierra La Mar. The property owner Garth was so helpful getting back to us right away with all of our question on booking his home and making all the arrangements for us to be picked up at the airport and brought to his Villa. When we arrived Garth and his staff were all waiting to greet us to get us settled in and to make sure we had everything we needed. Byron was our chef for the week and made us great jamaican meals and went to the grocery store and the fish and produce markets with us which was a great help. Shawnette and Stephanie kept the house sparkling clean and Stephanie also made us a coconut treat that makes my mouth water now just thinking about it. The house is a very nice size and the 3 bedrooms that we used were very big and they all had their own large ensiute bathroom which was great for privacy. Colin was in charge of cleaning the pool everyday and i must say it was crystal clear and refreshing and we spent most of our time in it. We brought along some inflatable water loungers as the pool was certainly big enough. Colin also looked after keeping the grounds beautifully manicured. There are so many different kinds of trees on the property and we enjoyed picking fresh limes to use in our drinks. Daniel was our night watchman and we enjoyed our visits with him and knowing he was outside if we needed him was a comfort, although I must say we always felt really safe being in the Whitehouse area. We enjoyed a few day trips and we always used Steve as our driver. He would spend the whole day with us and was a very reliable safe driver. I would recommend to go to the YS falls and the kids took a day trip to Negril and really enjoyed it. Of course Margaritaville was alot of fun and the kids enjoyed the water slide and the water trampolines. The best part of our vacation was just staying at the villa enjoying the peace and quiet and enjoying the beautiful ocean views and in the evenings watching the sunsets. Again a very big thank you to Garth as he truely made sure we had a great vacation. We would love to see everyone again someday as this is definitley one piece of paradise everyone should visit.

  This was my second visit to Sierra La Mar and it was an excellent vacation once again! I got to stay for 9 days this year and I could have stayed longer very easily. I had a wonderful time and the Villa was just how I remembered it, quiet, beautiful and so gorgeous. I and another friend got to enjoy the pool everyday as Colin kept it sparkling and so clean it was amazing. The housekeeping staff kept the villa spotless while I was there and it was greatly appreciated as well. I also want to say thank you to Garth for all he did to make our vacation the wonderful time it was. Herbert was fantastic as he cooked the most delicious food for us and the lobster was absolutely mouth watering. This villa has become my second home away from the winters in Canada and now it has become a yearly ritual for me to go and visit Jamaica. I love the island and the people are so friendly and welcoming. My heart is in Jamaica now and I will be back again next year as I cannot imagine not going to visit every winter to an island paradise that makes for such an outstanding vacation!! Thanks again to everyone and looking forward to seeing you all again next year!

  As i said words can not describe this vacation and the pictures are great , but wait till you get there, so much more beautiful!!! like paradise. almost every kind of friut tree almost all bearing fruit, huge palms blowing in the gentle breeze and a breathtaking sunset every night. set right in the side of a mountain. we made use of the pool every day it was crystal clear and cleaned every day by Collin the Gardner. The pool is alot bigger than it looks in the picture.the villa is absolutley beautiful and spacious the private beach was amazing. The owner Garth and his staff were the nicest people you could ever meet they almost feel like family now and was sad to say goodbye. the locals in the town not to far from the villa were all very nice too.and being away from the tourist areas you get to experience the real Jamaica at a lesser cost. The market in white house was very reasonable. Fresh lobster and fish , grocerys and vendors.The best thing was the service Garth provided for us ,Byron are chef prepared and served us delicious meals I dont think there was one we did not love! He came with us sometimes when we went out and helped us with our shopping He was amazing, Stephanie and Charnette kept the villa spottless everyday , Collin took care of the gardening and pool and they even had a night watchman Daniel (but was a very safe High end area) The staff were amazing ! we really enjoyed there company all I can say is Thank you Thank you Thank you Garth for the best vacation I have ever been on . and we defenitly will be back !   This was the best vacation we ever had.We were picked up at the airport by Fuji, who was not only a very skillful driver but also a great tour guide. When we arrived at the villa we were greeted by Garth the owner and the rest of the staff. Byron the chef, prepared us a traditional Jamaican supper that was awesome. He continued to make exceptional meals throughout our stay. He connected us with a driver James, that we used thoughout our stay.Byron also accompanied us to the markets and made sure we had all the supplies we needed, helped us with the money exchange and showed us where to get the best deals. He also makes the most incredible drinks..yummy! Collin kept the pool and yard looking beautiful and even had asked friends of his to take us fishing but we ran out of time. Stephanie and Sharnet kept the villa sparkling inside and out. Stephanie brought us crab and Chunk fish that was so delicious. Sharnet came with us to the YS Falls and we had a blast. Daniel our night watchman, stood guard over us throughout our stay but we had no problems as we were in a great area. Garth went above and beyond any needs we had. He was there when we needed him and yet we still had privacy to enjoy the villa on our own. There were many things to see that we did not get to all the places on our list. First off the private beach was awesome, plenty of shells, blue water and our own little rocky cove that provided well needed shade from that hot Caribbean sun. Ys Falls are truly beautiful, Black River Tour was money well spent(16.50 U.S.)we saw numerous crocodiles. Fonthill Beach Park was great especially since there was a class trip from Kingston on the day we went. The students were dancing and singing to the music, the kids had such great dancing skills and rhythm. The Village of Whitehouse was super. The marketplace was buzzing with many vendors selling their wares. Don't forget to check out Tina and Alton's bar called Lil Potion, they are the nicest people and across from them is Spanky selling his Jerk Chicken, conch and fish that is out of this world. We are definitely going back next year and plan on staying 2 weeks as 10 days are not long enough. We already miss all the new friends we made. We made many friends, the local people were very friendly and they helped us to experience the true spirit of Jamaica. Thanks again to all the wonderful people at Seirra La Mar that made this trip so exceptional, Love Chris and Debbie along with our friends Jerry and Julie

  My family of 5 stayed at this beautiful villa over Christmas break and had an amazing vacation! In addition to being right by the private beach (5 mins. driving), the village of Whitehouse, Sandals resort, it was close to many other beaches and tourist attractions. The villa itself was a great place to spend time. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked. The chef prepared excellent food and the house keeping staff kept the house spotless throughout our stay. The owner did everything to make us feel at home down to the most minute details and we had a fantastic trip. Thank you!!

  My family and I stayed at the Sierra La Mar Villa for one week and it was like being home away from home. The service was excellent. Unlimited access to the internet, pool and deck view over-looking the ocean was very beautiful, not to mention when the sun sets in the evening, it was magnificent. Sierra La Mar, is the best and we can’t wait to visit there again next year. Thank you Mr. Lee; for making our stay in your villa safe, memorable, and exciting. One love “soldier”

  I cannot express in mere words the perfectly divine vacation I experienced at Sierra La Mar, Whitehouse, Jamaica in the very capable hands of Mr. Garth Lee, the property owner. From the time we were met at the airport by his awesome driver (and tour guide as it turned out) Neville, to the farwell to the entire staff, Herbert, our personal chef, our 'girl fridays', Stephanie, and Charnette we felt well cared for right up to leaving for the airport, after, way too few days. I can only TRY to describe in words. If you want peace and quiet.... a sunrise and sunset which needs no words, privacy to relax totally uninhibited by any outside noise, distraction, annoyance or disturbance... and you know how to rest, relax and enjoy the total experience of the sounds of nature. If you need to get away and in the privacy of your own pool, cut right out of the side of a mountain.... listen to nothing but the music of creation. A tropical rain forest experience in the lush paradise, just off the beaten path. If you want that type of serenity, along with exceptional personal service, with your own personal staff to care for you. That's rest, and relaxtion at its finest! I HIGHLY recommend this resort home, and staff to anyone with the ability to enjoy it! I stayed at Sierra La Mar, in July 2008, and words just don't do it justice. And the price was great!!

  Centered directly between the natural beauty of Jamaica and the hot party spots of spring break... the size and the service are quite excellent. A must rent for larger groups of spring breakers. JUTA Tours taxis are not so expensive.

  My wife and children stayed here. The place was great. The staff was very nice. The Chef, Herbert was wonderful. He made three meals a day and treated us like royalty. He went out of his way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The food was excellent. Tell him what you like or want and he will make it. The owner was always helpful and willing to assist us anyway he could. He is a very gracious person. He made our stay stress free. Everyone we met was super. The house was very clean and gave us plenty of room for the seven of us. I would have no reservations recommending this villa to anyone. If you have a large family or a group of friends this would be an ideal place to stay. While it is not on the beach, the beach is close by and quite frankly why bother with the beach when you have your own pool? We never once were concerned about our safety. We enjoyed 9 days, 8 nights. It was located close enough to do some day trips. If you are looking for a place where you will not be bothered and simply want to relax and enjoy your own pool in the sun, this is the place to go. It has all of the benefits of staying in one of those all inclusive resorts, at a fraction of the cost without having to put up with all of the other stupid tourists. Don't stay in a resort. Get out and enjoy the island and the local people. We were pampered and came back rested, relaxed and refreshed. Thank-you Garth. We will come back and stay here again. Jay & Nancy

  Overall, this villa was absolutely amazing. Very hospitable, even for a group of college students looking a nice, relaxing vacation spot. The view was perfect for breathtaking sunsets. Everything was accessible: The beach was within walking distance, the pool was your own, and you were a short drive from the major cities. The owner was very welcoming and helped us with all of our questions/needs, and the chef prepared both local and foreign delicacies with ease. The maid service was simply the icing on top of the cake, and is highly appreciated, especially if you've stayed at a vacation house without one. If you want to experience Jamaica without staying at a spring break hot-spot, this is the place to do it. I plan on returning in the near future.

  My husband and I just got back from this beautiful Villa and we had a wonderful time! It was very clean and comfortable. The owner and all the staff made us feel like part of the family. We have to send a special thanks to Herbert our Chef, as he made our vacation very special! We stayed for a week and plan on going back next year for two weeks because a week was not enough.   Fantastic private villa in gated community overlooking the south coast of Jamaica. The spacious accommodations were excellent. Six bedrooms, each with private bathroom. Large family/dining room. Nicely appointed kitchen with a chef and house-keeper (the best part for our children who loved the idea of a large vacation house with no household chores). Perfect place for our three-generation family of fourteen to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Private pool. Gorgeous ocean view. Easy access to beaches, fishing, and ocean recreation activities. 5 km from a famous spa. Most gracious and accommodating owner. We rented two vans, which could not hold all of our luggage (three babies need a lot of stuff). Garth trucked the excess both ways in his pickup.

  We had a great time as a family at Sierra-La-Mar Villa in Jamaica over Christmas. The views were spectacular. The house was great! We had 14 guests -- 11 of them women; so the six bathrooms and lots of space worked great. What we also had was great service -- from the owner's personal attention, to the great personal chef, and to the daily cleaning service.   We stayed for a week and it was great. The facility is located near the ocean with spectacular views of the beach and ocean. It was clean and well taken care of. The food was all Jamaican, cooked by Byron, and it was really good - great sample of Jamaican food. Staff very, very friendly. I highly recommend it. The Nielsen family from Iceland and Chicago.

  I visited this Villa last October on very short notice and had a wonderful first class experience. The food was excellent and staff service was friendly and professional. Well located for local exploring. Ocean and views were gorgeous. A good find and excellent value.

  I felt compelled to write a reivew This is my second trip to Jamaica when I've booked a villa. My experience at Sierra La Mar was by far the best. My group and I were made to feel like kings and queens. I definitly will be returning again. This is how to experience Jamiaca. I thanked Garth and the staff perfusely when I was there, I think I owe to them to tell every one about how hard the work to make us feel special. I must admit I thought of keeping this good thing a secret, but that would not be fair the Sierra La staff. If you are looking for a pampered vacation you want forget, check at Sierra La Mar (it even sounds cool!).
