Don't hesitate to stay in this apartment! After much research I ended up here and could not have been happier. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed and somewhere I really wanted to come home to after a day at work. The owners have a real eye for design and have created a rental apartment far above the norm (flowers on arrival was a nice homely touch)- in many ways the best compliment I can give it is that it does not look like a holiday rental. The owners give you complete space during your stay but are always available for any questions or tips. The local area is, in my opinion, the only place to stay in DC - downtown is easily accessible, but within a 10 min walk you have every imaginable shop and cuisine within your reach. I miss this place enormously having now returned to the UK and will definitely return if I get a chance next year.

This is exactly what we were looking for. Stylish with all of the amenities needed for a 5 night stay. It felt like home from the very start and the owner was most helpful and welcoming. It is clean, modern and in a great location. Walking distance to the subway in a safe and inviting neighbourhood make it suitable to get to all of our sightseeing choices. It was also easy to get groceries or go out for a meal at one of many great restaurant choices.

Great Neighborhood, Comfortable Apartment

This is a very good choice for short stays. Nicely decorated, well-maintained and pleasant. Easy parking. A short walk to Dupont Circle. Also very private and quite.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The apartment was clean, open, airy and beautifully appointed. The landlords were welcoming and helpful. There are wonderful restaurants nearby and a corner store right across the street – very convenient. We will not hesitate to stay here again when we return to DC.

We recently had the pleasure of renting your apartment. What a pleasant surprise to see how very chic and modern the decor of the apartment. We have stayed at many VRBOs over the years and you can be disappointed at outdated furnishings.Your place is so stylish and fun. The neighborhood ha so many options for restaurants and bars. We even walked to a CVS from your apartment. That would never be possible in our hometown. Thanks for the reccomendation of the mexican restaurant,Lauriol Plaza. It was so good that we ate there a second time. Your apartment was very clean and it was perfect for our needs. Your towels were so soft and comfortable,loved them.Thanks again for providing a great "hotel" experience at an affordable price. We will be back.

Home Away From Home

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this property for 4 months after we relocated from California. We needed temporary housing while we shopped around for a house and boy did we luck out. First, we loved everything about the location. With a walk score of 97 out of 100 everything you could want is right at your door step - bars, restaurants, bakeries, parks, gyms, salons, cafes and so much more. This property is centrally located to the metro, transit and you can find taxis at any time of the day or night. Second, the apartment is stunning and right out of an interior design magazine. It was immaculately kept, beautifully furnished and was stocked with everything we needed. We eventually found the 1 bedroom a little small for our needs (we have a 4 year old) but with the U St. corridor as our backyard we managed just fine. Third, the owners were amazing. They were always ready to help us in any way we needed - takeout suggestions, parking passes or real estate in the area. We even got freshly baked cookies on the day we moved in. We couldn't have asked for more informative, professional and patient owners. We felt like family. We highly recommend this property for a short term or long term stay. You won't be disappointed!

Washington DC is a great Vacation

My girlfriend and I spent a week in April at the Elegant DuPont Circle 1 Bedroom Apartment and it was great. We have rented through VRBO many times but never in Washington. Location was perfect for visiting all of the major sites in DC. Chris was so helpful with restaurants and other questions we had about places to see. Very nice apartment, and I am very picky. Impeccable decorating and great quality throughout. I was very worried we would not be happy having never been there before and it being on the first floor with the owners living above. It turned out that it did not matter, the place was nice and quiet and it was as if we were the only ones there. Near many great restaurants and a Starbucks! I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Difficult landlord

The description regarding the location of this property is not accurate. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to Dupont Circle. The listing photos do not reflect the amenities, which are shoddy and the property was not clean. The owner was not helpful in addressing our concerns about the cleanliness. I would never recommend this property unless one hires a housekeeping service first. We were very disappointed.

Owner response:I have been renting this apartment for 3 years now and have never had a complaint like this. Nor have I ever had the place left in such awful condition. There was damage to the bathroom and kitchen, and the bathroom floor was covered in urine. This renter told me in advance that she had never used a vacation rental before, and that was made very clear. Perhaps in the future she should stick to hotels.

What a great place! We couldn't believe how easy it was to get around from there. We even walked most of the time! And to come back to such a comfortable "home away from home" at the end of the day. It was more than we hoped for. (We especially liked all the reasonable restaurants in the neighborhood!) We'll definitely be back. Thanks Chris!
