"Playa del Secreto", the Beach of Secrets awaits you! Casa del Sol is located on the "Riviera Maya" 25 minutes south of the Cancun airport. Hidden away on one of the most beautiful and remote beaches on the entire Yucatan. You will relax in the totally private seclusion this area offers.
Casa del Sol is one of 12 condo units. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the living room has a queen-sized sofa sleeper. The covered balcony offers a unique dining area where you can view the ocean as you dine. A fully equipped kitchen and ceiling fans will make your stay comfortable. There is a TV and DVD with a movie library for entertainment in the living room. Bottled water is provided.
A spiral staircase will take you up to your private deck/observatory on the roof where 360 degree views allow you to lie back on your chaise lounge and view the spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Take in the magnificent "Beach of Secrets" as the surf pounds and echoes up to your rooftop retreat. A large swimming pool graces the grounds where lush green grass, tropical flowers and palm and banana trees abound.
The small fishing village of Puerto Morelos is a 5 minute drive north. There you will find a grocery store, dive shops, a drug store, restaurants, a pizza place, and fishing and snorkeling excursions. The Maya Reef at Puerto Morelos is the second largest barrier reef in the world with some of the best snorkeling to be found. Or enjoy the quaint town square where the locals sell their wares.
You can walk the powder white sand for miles, gathering lovely shells, playing in the 85 degree turquoise surf and probably not run into but a handful of other beachcombers.

Great Place for a Quiet, Relaxing Vacation

My family and I have stayed at Casa del Sol a few times. We return because of the relaxing atmosphere, the fabulously decorated condo (there are handpainted murals ALL over the condo), and the affordability of it. There is a full kitchen with fridge, stove and oven, so we can cook our own meals. We have 2 small kids, so it makes it easy to feed all of us. The pool is great, and the grounds maintained well. The beach was a 3-4 minute walk. Although there is no air conditioning, the cross-breeze created by the large windows and doors, plus ceiling fans, keep the unit cool. The futon and chair in the living room make this a very comfortable condo. We had everything we need, and take a taxi to Puerto Morelos to buy food and go to restaurants or shopping. We have rented a car also, and the condo is in a prime location to make travel to many attractions easy. The owner provided us with all the information we would need before arrival, and was very pleasant. We love it at Casa del Sol and will return again.

We spent four nights at the condo in February 2011. The grounds of the condos and the pool were very well maintained and they create a very relaxing atmosphere. The interior of the condo is comfortable. Unlike some other condos in the area, the furniture is "real", not concrete slabs with cushions. While you won't find every luxury extra with this condo, it provides everything you'll need for a great getaway. We really enjoyed breakfasts and snacks on the balcony. We were able to pick up everything we needed in Puerto Morelos, then prepare our meals back at the condo. Most of the time, the only sounds to be heard were the ocean surf, birds, and the breezes through the palms. For those who like to eat out, Puerto Morelos offers a variety of restaurants. There's a private walkway to the beach - really just across the road. As advertised, we could literally walk a mile along the beach. Other than at the resort about 1 km south of the condo, at any time there were only a handful of other people on the beach. For security, there was a guarded gate into the beach area 24/7. We had no worries about safety. There are a lot of interesting things to see in the area. We had a good time at the Mayan women's market, and also enjoyed the botanical gardens just south of town. There is a natural area accessed by walking south on the road that was home to a variety of wildlife. This condo is great for anyone wishing to experience the Yucatan on a budget. We would not hesitate to return.
