Visit historic Idaho Springs and enjoy the convenient location to many of Colorado's activities. You can access gambling in Central City/Blackhawk (15 minutes) & world class skiing (25 to 50 minutes). You can also access Denver with a 30 minute drive. Idaho Springs & Clear Creek County are known for it's mining history where Colorado's first gold discovery was in 1859.Currently, there are two mining tours that operate locally. The Historical downtown area has many buildings built between 1880 & 1910. These buildings are part of a historical district which is listed on a the national register. Brunswick flats was built in two phases around 1880. The 2nd floor was completely remodeled in 2007 and feature granite countertops, hickory cabinets & hardwood flooring.
