We rent our cozy vacation cabin to visitors of Mount Rainier National Park. Our cabin is located in the town of Ashford, Washington only one-half mile from the Nisqually Entrance (the road to Paradise) of Mount Rainier National Park. Tenas Creek runs through the property.
Our cabin comes fully furnished in the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms. The main cabin is one bedroom (queen) and one bath with a queen futon couch in the living room. The guest cabin is located 50 feet behind the main cabin. It is a studio (full) with a bathroom. The cabins are well stocked with guidebooks/maps to plan your daily outings.
Our property is within easy walking distance to one of the best local restaurants in the area and the Mount Rainier Day Spa (hot tubs/massages). The cabin is 1/2 mile to the Nisqually Entrance to Mount Rainier National Park (the road to Paradise). Additionally, the cabin is located within a 10-minute drive to the Mount Tahoma Trails System. This network of trails is available to outdoor enthusiasts year round, providing superb hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Pets are welcome throughout this trail system, which is located just outside the boundary of Mount Rainier National Park.
The main bedroom of the cabin has a queen sized futon bed, cozy flannel sheets complete with an overstuffed down quilt. There are two nightstands with reading lamps, TV-VCR/DVD, and clothes rack and a suitcase stand. The breakfast bar is perfect for sipping morning coffee, reading a book or magazine, or to simply relax. Overlooking the kitchen (sunken floors), the breakfast bar is a great place to lay out maps and guidebooks to plan each day’s adventure. The kitchen of the cabin is fully stocked with everything you’ll need to prepare meals. The dining nook is located just past the breakfast bar in the "sunken kitchen." This space is perfect for a romantic dinner for two or reading the Sunday paper. Views from the dining nook are in to the cabin’s side yard, which seems to be a gathering area for families of black tailed deer, especially in the morning.
We welcome your pet to stay with you at our cabin. While dogs are not allowed on the trails of Mount Rainier National Park, there are countless "dog-friendly" hiking options just outside of the park boundary and a stone’s throw from the cabin. Tenas Creek, which runs through the cabin property, makes a safe swimming spot for your pooch after a summer’s hike.
The main living area of the cabin: The living room has both a futon couch (queen size) and a futon chair (twin size) for relaxing and lounging. Winter guests will find the wood pellet stove blazing away keeping the cabin warm and cozy. There is a TV/VCR/DVD for those who would like to watch a movie. There is a selection of movies at the cabin including some of the featured documentaries about Mount Rainier, Climbing Videos, etc. There is no cable TV at the cabin. The living room also has a small stereo unit with CD player.
Located about 50 feet behind the main cabin, The Back Cabin provides guests with additional living space. The Back Cabin is a studio space, complete with wood stove, futon couch/bed, and a bathroom (with shower). The back cabin complements the main cabin, allowing for two couples traveling together to have privacy yet be together. Additionally, families will find using the back cabin perfect for either Mom and Dad, or the kids! Just off the main cabin is a covered gazebo complete with chairs and a Weber barbecue grill. |
