You can walk two blocks to Rupp Arena or Transylvania University, and drive 10 – 15 minutes to Bluegrass Airport and Keeneland Race Track. This townhouse is securely located in a gated community with its own outside entrance. Two parking spaces are included. A fenced patio is at the rear of the unit. The first floor is a combination of hard wood floors and area rugs. The second floor is carpeted.
There’s a total of 1300+ square feet with living room and wood burning fireplace just inside the front door. A short hallway takes you past the half bath to the fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a smooth top stove). The dining area is across from the kitchen.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with a full bath and queen size bed, at opposite ends of the hallway. The washer and dryer are also upstairs. The master bedroom includes a sitting area. Bed and bath linens are provided.
There is cable TV with a sports package and some movie selections. Upstairs bedrooms have a television set (with basic cable).
If business brings you to Lexington, you will be within walking distance of convention headquarters, government buildings, banks and the courthouse. You can catch a quick lunch at Cheapside Grill or enjoy a leisurely lunch at the Greentree Tea Room. You can entertain clients at Dudley’s Restaurant or A la Lucie’s.
For those with free time to explore the Lexington area, the Kentucky Horse Park is a must! It’s about 20 minutes from downtown Lexington by car. History lovers can walk to the home of Mary Todd Lincoln or tour the estate of Henry Clay. You can purchase a special pass at the Lexington Visitor’s Bureau that includes four historic homes for only $15. Keeneland Races are April and October, and the yearling sale is in September. Other sale dates can be found on the Keeneland web site. Other horse events include Tattersalls Horse Sales, Fasig-Tipson Horse Sales, Rolex Three Day Event (Ky Horse Park), High Hope Steeplechase, Lexington Junior League Horseshow and the Red Mile Races. Applebee’s Park – home of the Lexington Legends - is a five minute drive.
Within walking distance: Rupp Arena concert and sports events (including University of Kentucky basketball games and the Kentucky Boys State Basketball Tournament), Transylvania University, The Opera House and the Farmers Market.
Within thirty minutes: travel northeast to Paris, KY and spend a day exploring Main Street Antique shops and restaurants. Visit horse farms and historic landmarks. Book a round of golf at Houston Oaks Golf Course. Travel south on I75 to Berea, KY and learn about Kentucky crafts. Eat lunch at historic Boone Tavern, a teaching kitchen for Berea College students. Drive to Frankfort, KY, the state capitol and visit Daniel Boone’s grave and tour the Kentucky History Museum. Stop at Woodford Reserve Distillery along the way. Nearby Broadway becomes Harrodsburg Road and takes you to Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill. You may choose to have a meal there, or venture on into Harrodsburg to eat at Beaumont Inn. Old Fort Harrod there was settled in the late 1700’s and is open to the public. Nature lovers will want to spend a day at the Red River Gorge.
