What a find... this charming cabin was just what we were looking for. made us feel like we were really in the mountains. the kids loved the large deck and game room. Jeff and I really enjoyed the log burning fireplace, real cozy on those cold nights. We will come back here next year!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Memory Maker. The cabin is located in an area just minutes from everything, very convenient. It has neighboring cabins but not too close, so it feels very secluded. not to mention a pretty good view. The place was clean and the king size beds were very comfortable, my husband and I slept in the master bedroom and the kids slept in the upstairs bedroom. We all enjoyed the glassed in game room with the pool table and foosball while taking in the view. The very large outside deck with hot tub and grill was very relaxing, especially the swing. The cabin could use a few upgrades, but overall it was nice and very cozy for our family. We'll definately recommend this cabin.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

It was a real pleasure dealing with the owners, while going thru the rental process. Don was very pleasant and helpful with the directions and all the questions we had. My mother and father are avid pool players & really enjoyed the pool table. The cabin was clean and well kept. It was secluded but close to everything. We loved the king size beds, they were very comfortable. We were worried a little about the well water at first, but it was fine. Just a little little iron taste the same as ours at home. Thanks for the good deal you gave us, we will tell our friends about your cabin. Bob & LoriRecommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing.

This was a cabin in DIRE need of updating and maintenance. Most disappointing was the outdoor hot tub which smelled so much like mold/mildew that it nearly knocked you down when you took the cover off. That is not normal. The inside water situation was not much better - a strong iron/rust smell when showering, and significant rust looking stains in all the showers, toilets, sinks and dishwasher. We bought a 24 blister pk of bottled water to drink and cook with. The kitchen definately needs some essentials including pans - most pans were unusable due to the teflon being severely scratched /peeling, and a lack of silverware. We had to wash the dishes before using them due to food and/or dish detergent being stuck to them. Lots of pillows (some stained), and blankets (some with big holes and dirty looking) thrown in closets on the floor. NO extra clean pillow cases or any sheets for the futon to be found in the entire unit. Lots of little annoyances like burned out light bulbs in lamps, dead batteries in wall clock and remotes, no instructions on how to get all the electronics (5 remotes) to mesh in order to play a movie. This took quite a while to figure out. CD player didnt work. No darts for the dart board. The cabin has poor overhead lighting. On the positive side, the cabin feels kind of secluded even though it is in a community. It is quaint, the king in the master was comfortable, and the heat worked well. The kids enjoyed the pool table. We, however, will NOT be returning.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family stayed in the cabin this week and had a great time! The kids really enjoyed having the game room and the hot tub. It was a great true cabin experience. The only problem we had was getting to the cabin one night due to the wet pavement and very steep road, but we made it just would have been alot easier if we had a 4 wheel drive.Recommended for: Families with young children.

We arrived to what we thought was going to be a great stay, it wasn't awful, just not what we've had before. The gaming system will not play any of the games because their scratched. The main floor shower needs to be updated, the water pressure will knock your skin off and the shower head can not be adjusted, so the water hits only your upper body in the chest. One of the extra pillows in the closet was brown with stains(yuck). On our 2nd night we had a scorpion on the wall behind the TV on the main floor, I'm assuming because the glassed in porch has cracks in the floor that you can see through. I called the owners to ask if there were more trash bags as we only had 2 and was told that was standard. We were there for 5 nights and if I had wanted standard I would have stayed at a hotel. We woke up on our last morning there to find 2 scorpions in the jacuzzi tub, makes me wonder how many more were crawling around that we didn't see. I'm glad it was the last morning or else we would have went elsewhere. Plan on picking up some wasp spray also if your going when its warm, not the owners fault just nature. I emailed the owner pictures of the scorpions in the bathtub on my way home and have not received a response. Bottom line is if your going for a worry free vacation where you won't have to worry about nature sleeping with you choose somewhere else, if you choose to stay here and you may need more than 2 trash bags, plan on picking some up.Recommended for: Pet owners.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Memory Maker Cabin for the weekend. What a wonderful cabin. It was very clean and cozy. We really enjoyed the hot tub on the deck and the view there. The cabin was perfect for us, as we wanted a secluded place, but not too far from all the activities. The owners were very helpful and pleasant during the rental process. They even called us on our second day to make sure everything was OK and if we needed anything. We will definately recommend this cabin to our friends.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

THIS PLACE WAS AWEFUL: HOTT TUB WAS BLACK AROUND THE JETS NO PRESSURE FROM THE JETS :JACUZZI IN MASTER BEDROOM WAS RUSTED AROUND THE JETS CONTACTED OWNER HE SAID THAT WAS FROM YEARS OF USING WELL WATER PLACE LOOKED LIKE IT HADNT BEEN VACUMED IN FOREVER . OWNER TALKED ABOUT A REFUND TOLD HIM TO KEEP THE MONEY BECAUSE WE WERE ALREADY THERE BUT I WOULD NOT BE RENTING FRON HIM AGAIN ....PLACE WAS IN NEED OF A GOOD CLEANINGOwner response: Just a note about the issues with this renter... When we were notified about the problem with the hot tub and rust stains on the Jacuzzi jets, we responded immediately, telling her that our hot tub man would be there first thing the next morning to remedy any problems that she is having and also explaining the reason for the rust stains on the jets. While talking with the woman, we discovered that she obviously didn’t turn on the high speed jets on the hot tub (therefore no high pressure) she said that her husband finally discovered how to turn on the high speed jets and told us not to send the hot tub repair man that everything was now OK. We offered her a refund at that time, which she declined, saying it wasn’t necessary. She also failed to mention anything about the cabin not being clean (WE HAVE OUR CABINS INSPECTED AFTER EACH CLEANING, BEFORE THE GUESTS ARRIVES) We didn’t hear anything more from them during their stay assuming no more problems and everything was indeed ok. After a week or so, we were VERY surprised to see that she had posted a bad review. (since She had told us that “everything was ok now“, and not to send the repair man. Obviously these people are very unhappy, and look only on the worst side of things and want to cause as much trouble as possible for others. We normally don’t respond to any reviews, but we felt this one was necessary. NONE THE LESS, We have taken the following steps to improve this cabin! 1. Installed new filtration system, which will solve the water problem permanently. 2. All new jets installed in the hot tub and Jacuzzi. 3. Installed a new dishwasher (old one had the same stains caused by the well water. 4. Installed new hd flat screen TV in the living room.

Rented the Memory Maker Oct9-13 2011. The pictures were pretty much true except for the rocking chairs and the view. There were no rocking chairs but there were adirondike chairs and the view was overgrown. The cabin was overall clean but in the upstairs bathroom was a throw rug in front of the bathtub that was stuck to the floor where it had not been moved to be cleaned or washed in quiet some time. Also there was no mention of the water. I know most cabins have there own well, but this cabins water had an awful ordor and came out with a brownish look. Everything was brown stained from the water.I know it is well water but looks like there needs to be some type of filteration system on it.Also the cabin is quiet dark needs more overhead lighting. My husband and I have been coming to the mountains since 1984 and have stayed in hotels chalets and cabins and have never experienced water being this way. We did not drink it and when you took a bath it made your skin smell not clean. We brought our 11 year old grandson with us he enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and fosball. There was a dart board but no darts. The door to the deck from the gameroom would not open, you had to go out to the deck from the kitchen. The old saying is you get what you pay for.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

We had a GREAT time....the cabin was clean and nice. We didn't have much of a view but we were up in the mountains and enjoyed the weather....which was very good. When we got to Tennessee we had a thunderstorm and lost power for about 2 hours......but the rest of the time we were there we had good weather and did not lose electricity. Thank you for a wonderful cabin that was clean and very nice. My only complaint would be is to upgrade your small appliances and maybe buy some new silverware for the cabin. The blender did not work and we did have any teaspoons and limited on the forks. We ate in our cabin the whole time. Thank you for the use of your cabin and a great time. We are looking forward to coming back to Tennessee and renting more cabins as we love being in the mountains and the view.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
