Pair-A-Dice is a quaint cottage in Grand Haven, Michigan. Built in 1906, it is located in historic Highland Park. Highland Park is registered with the State of Michigan as an historic landmark. This turn of the century cottage community has attracted visitors for over 100 years. About 95 cottages are tucked in the sand dunes with a system of boardwalks and walkways built throughout the dunes.

Pair-a-Dice overlooks Lake Michigan, and the back overlooks the wooded ravine. Pair-a-Dice has spectacular views! You can see the Grand Haven Pier's catwalk all lit up at night too!

A screened in front porch with an attached deck are ideal for reading, sunset watching, and watching storms come in over Lake Michigan.
There is a small back porch for storage, i.e.: coolers, beach bags etc. (we have beach chairs and sand toys)

There are 4 bedrooms, one full bath, and one area upstairs w/ sink and privacy door. (This helps shuffle people through the shower to upstairs for final dressing and grooming.) Three bedrooms have full beds and one bedroom has a set of twin beds. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Bring your own sheets, towels and beach towels. Two bedrooms have lake views.

Pair-a-Dice retains much of its charm. Many items in the cottage are original including the turn-of-the century wicker chairs. We collect vintage chenille bedspreads that are the perfect weight for a summer night.

In the Spring and Fall we provide electric blankets and there is a wall heater that keeps the downstairs cozy. The bathroom can be chilly depending on the weather so we provide a little space heater. This is not a home but a cottage that gets shuttered up for the winter at the end of October.

September is the locals favorite time to be at the Lake. Often the water is still warm, the surf is up for body surfing and boogie boarding, and the crowds are gone! Thanks for looking.

The house offers a lot of different rooms and areas to spread out and relax. The view, location and value is unbeatable in comparison to other properties. We will definitely come back and stay at this house again for more MI get aways!

We loved everything about this cottage. It is the perfect little house for a relaxing vacation. The view from the deck was amazing and we spent every evening watching beautiful sunsets over the water. We were there at the end of July and the weather was perfect. We did not mind the lack of air conditioning. There were plenty of windows and great breezes. Thanks to the owner for sharing a lovely vacation home.

Pair A Dice

Too rustic for me, it just needs a little update and work. The view from the patio was fantastic and the sunsets were unbelievable. A lots of steps to get to the beach but does have benches to rest. When we arrived at 4:00pm the cottage had to be 100 degrees. It needs more fans, infact we went out and bought one and I brought one from home. Just remember the only bathroom is down stairs so if you have any little ones it could be a problem. Please read the poem as you go up the stairs it will bring a tear to your eyes. On the whole it was a good experience!

Pair-a-dice was exactly a paradise! We enjoyed a great summer vacation in this quaint and charming cottage. The spectacular view, in addition to the peaceful setting and tranquil sound of the Lake Michigan waves all made for a perfect atmosphere to reconnect with nature. I highly recommend it!

Pair-A-Dice should be called Paradise! I have now lost count of the number of times we have vacationed there and we have never been disappointed. As soon as you cross the threshold, you can't help but feel immediately relaxed in this quaint environment. The cottage is immaculate and stocked with just about everything you could need for your stay. There is an awesome view of the lake from the porch and deck. In my opinion, the beach and water are comparable if not better than at the ocean-no salt and sea creatures. Downtown Grand Haven may appear small but there are lots of activities and great places to eat. Our stays here have been my family's favorite vacations and we will always have wonderful memories. We give Pair-a-Dice cottage a 5 star rating!

We were there in October. The temperature that weekend was 86 degrees and sunny! The cottage is beautiful and very charming, just as described. No need to bring your own beach paraphernalia as she has got it all (body boards and boogie boards, beach chairs, etc.) Grand Haven is just as gorgeous as you said it would be. Everyone was out and the weather was spectacular. We had a great time at the beach and exploring the lighthouse. Meijer is a 5 minute drive from the cottage. The neighbors are very nice. The skate park in town is awesome - my son had a fab time. Highly recommended!
