We stayed in "Eve's Paradise" this last weekend. It is much bigger than the pictures look online. When you first walk in, there is a large sitting room with a couch and two side chairs, On the left side of the sitting room is a large dinning table. Next to the dinning table are large French doors that lead out to the private covered deck and patio. The kitchen also overlooks the deck and patio. There is a bedroom off the sitting room that has a comfortable queen size bed. Off the sitting room, through lovely shuttered doors, is the living room. Off the living room is the second bedroom which is larger than the first one. The living room has a fold out sleeper sofa. The bathroom is gorgeous with a huge shower. The half-bath is outside off the patio; it was way too hot last weekend to use it without sweating to death. The garden shower is on the opposite side of the deck. The water pressure is pathetic, BUT if you only need to rinse off and have short hair, it works fine. We did not use the deck or patio simply because it was so hot and humid, though there are two ceiling fans above the deck. Tips on the location: when you walk out of the condo and exit the property, turn to the right and proceed one block. On the corner is a lovely restaurant called Sarabeth's. We had a fantastic breakfast there. Continue down Southard a few more blocks and you will hit Duval Street. Duval has lots of shops and bars. If you turn right on Duval and walk all the way down the street (about a 10 minute walk), you will hit Mallory Square on the water. You must go at sunset because there are vendors and performers - lots of fun. In front of one of the hotels in Mallory Square is a old truck that has been transformed into a bar. They have the most AMAZING mojitos I have ever had. They are nine dollars, but they are big and tastey. Getting around Key West: taxis are incredibly expensive. We rented bikes each day from a shop on Southard St. So, again, take a right out of Hollinsed's, walk down Southard past Duval, and the bike/motorscooter place is a few more blocks down on the corner of Duval and Whitehead (I believe). Bikes are ten dollars per day, but you get a better price for multiple days. If you keep going past the bike shop on Southard, you will get to Fort Zachary Taylor park and beach. You pay a few dollars to get in, but the location is perfect (about a 10 min bike ride down Southard from Hollinsed). Take your own chairs and umbrella too.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Actually Duval Street is only one block from Simonton Street (The Hollinsed House is one house from Simonton Street). When you live in Key West you realize that the locals, Conchs, do not refer to alleyways as blocks. They count blocks as major street. Sorry for any confusion this causes to guests. The water pressure for the outdoor shower is definitely dependent on the number of guests that are staying at he Hollinsed House. It "at the end of the line"!!!! Sarabeth's is absolutely always my recommendation for breakfast in Key West. The Smoked Salmon eggs is out of this world and the toast that is homemade can't be beat! And I will most certainly take your recommendation and go try a mojito at the truck bar. I think they have the best mudslide on the island! We hope to see you at the Hollinsed House on your next visit to Key West........

I came down with 4 friends (ages 25-30) for "Young Professionals Break" the first week of May. We stayed in Michael's and it was fantastic! The space is cute and even more spacious than the pictures suggested. (We also peeked in The Real Deal downstairs, and the renovations look fantastic!) The small balcony was perfect for a relaxing drink outside, and obviously the location could not have been better. With two futons and a bed there was space for everyone, plus the great rate we received allowed us to spend even more on Duval St! Michele loads you up with recommendations and each one we took was spot on. I've already been spreading the word that if you come to Key West this is the place to stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This was our 2nd visit to the Hollinsed House. The loft was perfect. We truly enjoyed our stay! The balcony was amazing looking over the gardens, the pool and the people strolling by. I had to work a little while I was there, but it could not have been more relaxing up there on that balcony with coffee and my laptop. The groundskeeper was so nice! Both visits he has made us feel right at home. We will never stay anywhere else in Key West when we come to visit. Thank you again Michele! We hope to come again soon.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We've been to Key West several times but this was our first experience with VRBO. We could not have been more pleased. The location of the Hollinsed House is perfect; just a few blocks from Duval and within walking and bike-riding distance of everything! If you are thinking about vacationing in Key West look no further, this is the place to stay! You will not be disappointed. Michelle was of great help when we first inquired about renting and continued to be of help (answering questions via e-mail) in the weeks leading up to our stay. We've been back in Ohio for four weeks now and we are still talking about our fun-filled vacation and wonderful accommodations at the Hollinsed House. Thanks Michelle.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

Awesome! We had two units but ours was the center of the action - coffee on the 2nd floor porch, cocktails in the afternoon...add the resident kitty who adopted us, best sleeper sofa ever, nice people, great pool - - only decision is how quickly can we get back! Thanks Michelle for sharing your piece of paradise!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Hollinsed House is the best spot in Key West. We are a little hesitant to add a positive comment to this website because this is a rental we would like to keep secret and all to ourselves. We stayed in the Real Deal and loved it. The grounds were just as beautiful as the condo. And the location perfect. We're willing to share but only if the Real Deal is available for us the next time we want to visit Key West.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Great location. Michelle was a great host. Spotless, roomy yet cozy. Nice pool and very private but only 2-3 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Duval. Best location in Key west. We'll return time and time again. Mark and Connor TonkinDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Stayed in Michael's eyebrow loft. Spotless. Comfortable. Cosy. The pool is great to cool off in. Best location in Key West. Very quiet, but only a 3 minute walk to where the action is. We will return again real soon.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We've been to Key West a number of times over the past years and havn't really found a rental that we wanted to return to, until now. "The Real Deal" is a perfect spot to stay when in the Keys and I guarentee we'll be staying there again. Michele could not have been any more informative or responsive to our questions and/or concerns. "The Real Deal" is a beautifully decorated, spacious, and comfortable place with access to a great courtyard/pool to meet new people or spend time with the ones you came down with. Not to mention the house location is perfect. I highly recommend this rental. You won't be disappointed.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Where does one start?! This trip was perfect from start to finish, all made so easy with Michelle's help and tutelage. The location couldn't be better - close enough to the action for easy access to Duval St. or straight on down Southard to a wonderful, quiet beach at the local state park. This was our first VRBO experience and it was a very positive one. Great music and libations at the Green Parrot and don't miss out on the fresh Stone Crab claws. We are looking forward to our next visit to Hollinsed House and getting reacquainted with or new friends there!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a great vacation accomidation! The photos don't really do this site justice. The suite (actually a very large room + kitchen and bath) was wonderful. The ground floor made it easy to go in and out often (which we did). A porch area of our own to lounge on, a great patio/pool area. Bike racks were handy for our 3 bikes and very accomidating hosts (Michele and Jeff). Location is in historic area surrounded by other victorian houses. Great walking area. Couldn't have asked for a better stay! Highly recommend Harvey's Haven.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Michaels Eyebrow Loft was a great place to stay. The location is perfect, 1 block away from the crazyness of Duval but yet so close when you want to be a part of it. The condo was clean and had plenty of room for our party of 4. Michele, the owner, made our stay the most pleasant experience. She made sure that we had everything we needed and was a pleasure to work with. We were staying in Key West for a seminar, but we would definetely return with our families and stay at the Hollised House without hesitation for a true vacation.Did you find this review helpful? We had a great time January, 2007. The accomodations were great, the owners are very nice and helpful with suggestions for the area. We felt at home and enjoyed our neighbors while we were there. and of course, the location is perfect, right in the heart of evrything we wanted to do. We were able to walk or bike everywhere we wanted to go.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Michaels eyebrow was wonderful. Great location, quiet and convenient. Very comfortable for 4 people, not fancy but clean. Nice small private porch to sit in the morning sun with tea. Michele was very helpful and we really liked the warm and friendly atmosphere. We'll be back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have always had success with VRBO and this was no exception. Owner/coordinator -Michelle-was super friendly and provided me with answers to all my endless questions. I worried about using paypal and all was great a nd a seamless trasaction. She gave me all of the options of what to rent on the property without being only amiable to her own condo there...very honest...we arrived in Key West and landed at our condo quickly due to her great directions...After al long day of travel and driving , we were greated to wine, fruits and music softly playing...what a great way to come "home". All amenities where there..including plenty of linens and beach towels, too!! The caretaker-Jeff-was super friendly and helped us with suggestions, too.....one of best parts-the LOCATION! ..smack in the middle of being off Duval...we had a blast..we plan on coming back again next year as our 'vacation in between vacations' and staying within the same compound....meticulously clean and the gardens-pool are lovely,,,great privacy as we had Michael's Eyebrown and the little desk was all ours....stay here-you will be glad you did....Did you find this review helpful? WOW!!! We are still on cloud nine after returning from an awesome, peaceful trip to Key West. The true gem was "The Hollinsed House". It is a charming condo. I felt at though I was entering into a very welcome environment with the old-time feel but yet the modern conveniences of today. The pictures on this listing are beautiful, but do not give the condo justice. I guess you have to see it for youself to see how inviting and comfortable it really is. The location cannot be beat and neither can the hospitality! We will never look for another place to stay in Key West. We will be staying at "The Hollinsed House"! Thanks to the owners for the information about the area and for all the little "extras" that made us feel so special (a bottle of wine, fruit basket, etc.) Thanks again for a memorable visit. We will be back!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
