Family Lodge with View of Resurrection Bay

Why the Owner Chose Seward
Seward was the best choice for a home and lodging business; a small town with friendly, hardworking people, and only a two and a half hour (scenic!) drive from Anchorage. Our home is in the historic section of town, and has a wonderful view of Resurection Bay.
Everything we love about Alaska is right in our back yard!
The Unique Benefits at this 2 Story House
We love the outdoors. Sharing the beauty of Alaska, seeing it through the eyes of the families that come here, is a reward in itself. We welcome you questions, and can usually offer several options, along with a few suggestions.
Walking the docks at the small boat harbor when the fleet comes in is a real kick. The holiday atmosphere is contagious, and just about everyone is smiling, animated, telling fishing stories; evidence is weighed and hung for the world to see. I do mean world, J-Dock has a 24 hour real time web cam where the fish are hung.
For the rainy days, the Sea Life Center is a world class marine research facility. Plan to spend 2-4 hours, the aquariums give a peak into the undersea world. Woody, a 1500 lb sea lion, swims (what seems like) inches away. There are hands on sea life exibits, educational movies, a snack bar, gift shop and seating throughout for your comfort. Right across the street, dining, shopping and of course the local 'watering holes'. A little way farther down the beach, is Sewards new Alaskan theme playground.
After a really busy day, there is nothing better then relaxing by the fireplace, or snuggling under a warm quilt to rest up for tomorrows adventure.
Built by volunteers, in 2007. A very cool place to take the kids!
Mitch Seavy has previously won the Ididirod Race to Nome.Voted one of best values in entertainment!
Park tours, hiking, glacier tours. Wear sturdy shoes, small stream crossing, nice trails and some more vigorous hiking available.
Harbormaster, Park Service, Cleaning stations, shopping, dining, expresso stands are all found in this area.
J-Dock does a quality job of freezing, vacum packing, and shipping your fresh fish. Their live webcam views the hanging and weighing facility, so you can "back up your brag" around the world...
Owner's Map of Seward
My husband David, and I have enjoyed Alaska for 23 years. Our 3 children are grown, but as a family we still hunt, ride atv's, fish, and play together. We love to hop on our boat, catch silver salmon and grill it on a secluded beach.
Recently, we started spending Winters in Arizona,(another VRBO rental)then farther South to Mexico (we are building a Casa, to be used for VRBO as well!)
We are 'living the dream' and are grateful for every minute!
