Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Paniolo Country Estates
Adam purchased this home years ago because he loved the area so much. He has spent many hours improving what was once barren rock into a showplace yard that reflects the beauty of Hawaii. We appreciate the quiet neighborhood, but we are also glad to be located close to town and all our favorite beaches. Because we are located at a good elevation (900 feet), we enjoy warm days and cool nights--we sleep well!
The Unique Benefits at this House
In addition to enjoying our beautiful yard, we love the quiet days and evenings. There are no homes in sight of our house though there are neighbors nearby, so we feel as if we have our own little slice of heaven. We are visited by all kinds of birds, including turkeys, pheasants, wild parrots and migratory species from many places; occasionally we are honored with a visit from an i'o, the Hawaiian hawk. Of course Fisher and Bali keep us company and help us make our guests feel welcome.

We consider ourselves among the luckiest of people to call Hawaii home. Adam has lived in Kailua-Kona for 20 years, escaping the cold winter of Minnesota; he manages a private estate on the Kohala coast. Melissa moved to the island 5 years ago as a corporate refugee and enjoys managing the family's vacation rentals. We met at a function for a local charity and have been together ever since! Our family includes our cat Bali and our Labrador Retriever Fisher, who happily greets all our guests and loves to play with them in the yard whenever he is invited.

Your place is amazing the lush vegetation is a Tropical Paradise! You thought of everything, Beach gear, cooler, towels, bodyboards. and kitchen supplies. We were impressed that you replaced the coffee maker the very next day after we asked. We would certainly come back here and will tell our friends all about your place. We wished we could have talked with you more, but were busy enjoying your beautiful island! Thanks for your Hospitality!

Thank you for sharing such an amazing place with our family! The yard is really beautiful and the kids really enjoyed the hammocks.(and of course, playing with Fisher!) We certainly enjoyed our stay at your Retreat! This is such an attractive setting with the lush vegetation and flowers. Its great to wake up to the chatter of a wide variety of birds and the sun streaming into the bedroom. The rental is clean, very tastefully decorated and is supplied with all that is needed;all kitchen equipment, including nice dishes, a very comfortable bed, water sports gear and complete entertainment center. Melissa and Adam were very helpful with local information and were very respectful of our privacy. We couldn't have asked for anything more! Perfect! Thank You!!!!

Nice and Laid back! Enjoyed just sitting out on the Lanai reading and relaxing. Very nice to have security and quietness. Enjoyed the loaner cat "Bali", he spent lots of time entertaining and visiting. Fisher is so DAWG like, full of energy, fun and love. Hope to be able to return next year, it will be our 12th trip to the Big Island and Brew Festival! Mahalo for the hospitality!

Thank you for letting us stay in your great, great place! The gardens are really pretty and the Mangoes are the nicest we have ever had. Fisher is really fun to play with and a clever football player! The gecko in the house is cool and so are the ones outside. Nice to be woken up by the sound of birds in the morning. Nice way to spend your holiday after a year away. PS, we couldn't fit Fisher in our bags!

What a wonderful way to begin the New Year! After our wedding on Oahu, Kona was a much needed, relaxing get away. We thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon here. Hope to be back again very soon!
