Kona Palm Retreat is simply amazing. I was so excited after booking this place I thought there was no way the place could live up to my expectations. Upon arrival I quickly realized this home easily surpassed my high expectations. The property is 100% as advertised. Adam and Fisher met us upon arrival and instantly made us feel welcome to their home. The home is completely surrounded by lush vegetation and masterfully designed landscaping. Kudos to Melissa and Adam for their attention to every detail. The interior was clean, spacious and comfortable. Every amenity we could think of was available. The Internet is fast and there are endless entertainment options great for winding down after a day exploring the island. We will certainly stay at the Kona Palm Retreat during our next trip to the big island. Do yourself a favour and skip the hotels and mega resorts. You will not find better luxury or comfort for this price.

Your place is amazing the lush vegetation is a Tropical Paradise! You thought of everything, Beach gear, cooler, towels, bodyboards. and kitchen supplies. We were impressed that you replaced the coffee maker the very next day after we asked. We would certainly come back here and will tell our friends all about your place. We wished we could have talked with you more, but were busy enjoying your beautiful island! Thanks for your Hospitality!

Thank you for sharing such an amazing place with our family! The yard is really beautiful and the kids really enjoyed the hammocks.(and of course, playing with Fisher!) We couldn't have asked for a better place! It was really great to have someplace to "come home" to after a long day of exploring the island!

I stayed here in June of 2011 with my fiancee and her two children (5 and 7). We were completely satisfied with our visit. The grounds are exceptional and the house was very clean and well-equipped. The neighborhood is quiet and the elevation results in perfect night-time temperature for sleeping. The kids loved the hammocks, hot tub, and Fisher. We found some snorkel gear and boogie boards which were very handy. Supermarket, restaurants, beaches, and airport are all within 15 minutes. We had a great time and we hope to stay here again.

We certainly enjoyed our stay at your Retreat! This is such an attractive setting with the lush vegetation and flowers. Its great to wake up to the chatter of a wide variety of birds and the sun streaming into the bedroom. The rental is clean, very tastefully decorated and is supplied with all that is needed;all kitchen equipment, including nice dishes, a very comfortable bed, water sports gear and complete entertainment center. Melissa and Adam were very helpful with local information and were very respectful of our privacy. We couldn't have asked for anything more! Perfect! Thank You!!!!

Nice and Laid back! Enjoyed just sitting out on the Lanai reading and relaxing. Very nice to have security and quietness. Enjoyed the loaner cat "Bali", he spent lots of time entertaining and visiting. Fisher is so DAWG like, full of energy, fun and love. Hope to be able to return next year, it will be our 12th trip to the Big Island and Brew Festival! Mahalo for the hospitality!

My husband and I spent 8 days at Adam and Melissa's "ohana" and loved it. We were there for a family wedding. We have spent a lot of time on the Big Island, having owned a second home there for many yrs. and this place came close to our previous home. The location is great - not far from the airport or from town. And at the right elevation for cool nights and comfortable sleeping. We would heartily recommend it.

Thank you for letting us stay in your great, great place! The gardens are really pretty and the Mangoes are the nicest we have ever had. Fisher is really fun to play with and a clever football player! The gecko in the house is cool and so are the ones outside. Nice to be woken up by the sound of birds in the morning. Nice way to spend your holiday after a year away. PS, we couldn't fit Fisher in our bags!

What a wonderful way to begin the New Year! After our wedding on Oahu, Kona was a much needed, relaxing get away. We thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon here. Hope to be back again very soon!

We enjoyed our time here at your home, The island is so beautiful. Our stay in Kona was the perfect end to our two week vacation, beginning in Oahu, then Volcano, and then Kona. We spent six days on the Big Island. Three days on the Hilo side and Three days on the Kona Side. We were amazed at how beautiful and different the two areas were in a matter of a few miles! The Kona Palm Retreat was a great starting point to explore the wonderful beaches.Thanks for sharing your home with with us!

We had a relaxing family vacation at this home away from home. The grounds are amazing (the pictures are true to life!) and the rooms are beautiful. The property is clean and well-maintained. The location was great - close to town and shops, but not the noise and traffic. We've stayed in the downtown area before and prefer getting a bit away from the congestion. If you like waking to the sounds of tropical songbirds instead of honking, this is the way to go. We probably spent more time in our room than we normally would have, since it was so comfortable. I could see a couple sans children having a romantic getaway here and sleeping in a lot. Having a fully stocked kitchen let us cook up the tuna and mahi mahi my husband caught, and let our bottomless stomach kids have evening snacks. There was also a stocked closet with beach necessities that are impossible to pack and expensive to buy: cooler, chairs, boogie boards, snorkels, towels, etc. Melissa and Doug are wonderful hosts and provided valuable advice on local activities and vendors. We had an excellent stay here and would most definitely recommend the place to anyone planning a visit to the Kona area.

A lovely peaceful stay. Thank you! Greeted every morning by a riot of birdsongs, sitting on the Lanai watching our feathered friends flirt and the geckos scuttle. Our perfect day, Snorkeling at "two step", next to the Place of Refuge. $5.00 dollars lets you park your car at the park all week. Then authentic roadhouse Lau lLau at Super Js, south beyond Mile Marker 107.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Kona Palm for a few months last fall and we are so glad that we found this gem of a place. The property is absolutely beautifully landscaped, and is up away from the bustle of downtown. It's a very easy drive into downtown Kona and the better beaches to the north. The rental unit has everything that you'd need for a get-away vacation or short stay. The bedrooms are comfortable. The living room is fully stocked with a massive TV and DVDs (for those rare occasions when you choose to stay in). The kitchen and bath have all the necessary items and there's a closet stacked full of beach-going gear. You can just choose to laze about the property and swing from any of the hammocks, or use the hot tub out back! There's even a gas grill. We spent many a night out on our private lanai. Melissa and Adam (and their dogs and cat) are most gracious hosts. We were able to bring our dog along, who was in Island Heaven with all of the birds and other wildlife. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit them again soon.

Kona Palm Retreat was lovely! We came on Honeymoon and spent 8 nights here. We enjoyed seeing the island and having a home tyo come back to every night! It is a very relaxing and beautiful place to stay!
