My wife and I along with our children 9 and 16 spent two weeks at Beach House Incognito in May and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The location is superb, right on the northern end of Dominicalito Beach, which most times you have all to yourself. When the tide is right you can walk, run, explore the rocks and tide pools, or just sit under the shade of the almond trees that overhang onto the edge of the beach. Greg, the owner is great, and Alex provides as much or as little of his services, which can include all sorts of concierge, as you wish. He is very knowledgable about the area and will gladly arrange tours or just point you in the right direction. There are nearby markets to get groceries and Uvita, just 8km south has even better offerings. Just a bit further south is Ojochal which has more restaraunts to offer and is becoming known as a culunary hot spot. Just up the mountain is San Isidro which has a great fruit and vegetable market on Saturdays and some nice spots overlooking the valley and ocean for lunch. Just ask Alex if you arent sure where to go.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: I love it when families enjoy our beach front as much as I do! It's also fun being here, and actually seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter. Pura Vida. Greg, Alex, and Beachhouse Incognito

As many others have stated before... Beach House Incognito is amazing! We have arrived at our fair share of booked-over-the-web type vacation rentals over the years just to discover that nothing was as advertised. Our stay at the BHI has gone a long way to restore my faith that SOMETIMES... things can be as good as they seem, or in this case, even better. We spent just shy of 2 weeks in the smaller house and we were fortunate enough to overlap our visit with that of the owners (Word up G&L!) who are laid back and really easy to like. They have the perfect balance of "there-if-you-need-them" and "don't even-know-they're-there" going on at Incognito. Alex... What can we say? Alex is the live in concierge We didn't SEE him walk on water... but if he got the idea that it would improve your guest experience even a little, I'm pretty confident he'd probably figure it out. He is a warm, unique brand of customer service, a consumate professional and truly made our stay at BHI. As for the actual accommodations themselves... The house has been meticulously maintained and is tasteful, spotless and modern, all nestled in a breath taking setting right on the ocean. We had a fantastic time, not a single complaint and we'd recommend BHI to anyone that is looking for accommodations in the Dominical area. We'd also recommend BHI to every other owner wishing to run a first class vacation rental. You should pop round and see how it's really done! We've been planning our return trip since we turned left out of their driveway heading back to Canada.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Wow! What a review! Thank you both so much! Alex is great, and puts everything at easy reach. Wondering about our dog sitter. We can't wait for your return. For all guests, you can choose between our 1 bedroom guest cottage, as Bianca enjoyed, or our large 2 story, 2 bedroom, 2 bath home. Both are right on semi private stretch of beach, and share our 18x36 pool. Come for a visit. Thanks from BHI; Alex, Greg, Lisa and Baggs.

Our recent vacation at The Beach House Incognito was absolutely the best. The house was perfect. The adjacent cottage was perfect. The pictures and descriptions on the website do not do justice to this property. It is much better !!! The property is clean, well maintained, and safe, All activities are close to the property. We went zip-lining, kayaking, fishing, and horse back riding. I even tried a little yoga!!! These activities are all professionally run, affordable, and fun. The beach is just a few paces from the house. Very secluded, stunning views, and safe. The sunsets are beautiful. When you decide to say at the Beach House Incognito, be sure to set up a hammock on the beach, grab a book, and RELAX... This was our first trip to Costa Rica. Of course I had many questions. Greg graciously answered all my questions, promptly, and with great patience. Many thanks to Greg. A hidden treasure to this whole experience is Alex, the Concierge. Alex treated our whole family like kings. Transportation to and from the airport, local rental car, where to shop, where it eat. You name it, Alex took care of everything. When we needed Alex, he was there. We sure enjoyed his company, drank a few cold ones, and swapped a few stories. Alex, you are the best!!! Unfortunately, there was one major negative to our trip. We HAD TO LEAVE. We'll be back - very soon.. Many thanks to Greg and Alex for making this the best vacation ever. Marty, Denise, Wayne, Lollie, Annette & PattiRecommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for a nice pat on the back to Marty and family! We're glad you had a blast! Alex works hard to make our guests experience the best ever! Also, our network of tour guides, transportation personnel, and all of our exciting activities and jungle adventures, help to make everything you do as effortless as possible. Hat's off to the southern zone! We look forward to treating you again in the future. Greg , Owner of Beachhouse Incognito

Beach House Incognido was amazing! We stayed in the beach cottage, very spacious for the two of us with all the amenities of home, steps away from the ocean. It was a real authentic experience. We loved the small surfing town of Dominical, very unique, friendly, with no chain restaurants (mostly locally owned and operated). We initially wanted to do a car less vacation, but the 2 km trek to Dominicial soon got very tiring, so we rented a 4x4 (highly recommended). The customer service was excellent. Greg was very prompt to answer our e-mails, and all the many questions we had about CR. Alex the Concierge, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. His suggestions of what to see, and where to eat where always right on. He also arranged a driver for both pick-up and drop (door to door) from SJO airport to Beach House Incognido. The beach is absolutely stunning, and the water was very warm. We loved watching the waves while drinking our morning coffee. We highly recommend this place. Owner response: Thanks! It's always a pleasure for myself and our fine concierge, Alex to serve enjoyable guests like this. You make our job a pleasure! Hope to see you in the future at our small corner of paradise. Greg, owner of Beachhouse Incognito

My wife and I rented the guest cottage for a week and it could not have been more beautiful, relaxing and comfortable. The cottage is hidden down on the beach ,surrounded by rainforest and the ocean. It has everything you need plus a covered porch and a huge pool. The beach is just a 100 ft from the house. Alex, the concierge,is very helpful & fun, but never intrusive. He gives good directions, a great tour of the area, can arrange transportation details and is full of interesting stories. He even grilled our fresh fish one night- thanks, Alex! The cottage and grounds are immaculate. The property is extremely secure- no worries there. Just 2 kms from Dominical there are many good dining options, 2 grocery stores and nightlife. Need a 4x4 SUV to really tour the area. You can't go wrong here. Will definitely be returning to Casa Incognito.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

I stayed there for a few nights with 3 other friends and we all had an amazing time! The pictures do not do the place justice and we were blown away by the view. There's nothing like being able to walk out of your house directly to the beach - the sunsets are spectacular! There's tons of iguanas, birds, and other animals on the property. It felt like a home away from home, but we barely had to lift a finger since Alex, the on-site concierge, arranges everything. With his tremendous experience in the hospitality industry and local connections, he can plan everything from organized tours to off-the-beaten path trips. All of his recommendations were perfect! We originally planned on using the house as just a place to crash while exploring Manuel Antonio, but the area around Dominical and Uvita offered everything we needed. If you're feeling like staying at home for the night, I highly recommend having him arrange for Diana to come over and cook for you.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My husband and I stayed at the Guest Cottage for 8 glorious days. The guest cottage was the perfect size with everything we needed. It might be too small for more than 2 people but it was very spacious for us. The A/C was a great bonus because it kept the cottage very cool on those hot days. Alex, the caretaker, was very helpful and attentive to our needs - he let us borrow a cooler, bug spray, his cell phone, anything we needed! He can answer any question you have so don't hesitate to ask his opinion or for help, whether it's restaurant recommendations or local activities. He set us up with an ATV tour that was one of the highlights of our trip - we highly recommend! The beach is literally steps outside your door, and the best part about it is the privacy. We spent whole days on the beach where we would see only 2 or 3 other people walking by. We rented a car for half of our stay - we'd recommend a car for the whole duration. We traveled to Manuel Antonio, Uvita and San Isidro and it was great to have that freedom. The walk into town is manageable (prob 1.5 miles) but the road is very busy with not a lot of room to walk. We cooked breakfast every day and several dinners - we recommend the grocery store in Uvita. The small market in Domenical is ok, but the one in Uvita is a million times better and we wish we had gone there at the beginning of our trip. Make the trip to the Nauyaca waterfalls which is just outside of Domenical - it is stunning. We hiked in (4 km up, 4km down), and it was a challenging but doable hike. You can also ride horseback. The waterfalls were simply amazing. The property is covered with gorgeous tropical flowers, and I picked several fresh bouquets during our stay. One afternoon while we were lounging on a hammock we spied a sloth stretching in a treetop just a few feet away! We had no problem with insects on the property, but down by the beach and in the jungle it can be intense. We bought a big can of bug spray and that made a huge difference. It was our first time in Costa Rica and we had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this property and Domenical for your Costa Rica trip!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

This house is perfect for a family or a group of friends who want to be near town but away from the business and crowds of Domincal. It is beautifully landscaped and right on the beach but with plenty of privacy and shade. The yard is made for fun with a very well cared for pool, palapa, horseshoes and even a fire pit. The caretaker is always on site to help you with anything but is never in your way. It was helpful and comforting that if anyone was sick or hurt, you had someone to assist in getting medical care. The house is Costa Rican in its style and has everything needed to cook a gourmet meal. With plenty of hammocks and outdoor lounging space, you will feel fully relaxed and energized for whatever you need to face upon returning to real life. This place is a gem! There is even a beginner surf wave just down the beach at Dominicalito. Pura vida!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

If anything, Beach House Incognito and its surroundings are even nicer than the very accurate photos on this site show. We just returned from a week there. This beach house is spectacular, and we had an awesome stay. Just steps from a beautiful, sparsely populated beach. Solitude and privacy if you are looking for it, but also close enough to towns (Dominical and Uvita) when you want more activity. Hated to leave. The caretaker / host, Alex, was great -- extremely accommodating and helpful, and always ready and available to provide recommendations, reservations, and assistance (and the occasional amusing story... ;-). It was quite a pleasure to have him around. Definitely hoping to return to Beach House Incognito next year (or sooner if possible...)! Some local recommendations (our opinions of course) -- Restaurante La Parcela about 1K toward Uvita, the fish market directly across the road from La Parcela, Dominical Surf Adventures for surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, horseback rides with either Aventuras de Selva Bonita (sunset / beach ride) or Don Lulo's Nuyaca Waterfall ride, Bar el Coco in Dominical. And if you don't have your own internet, there is a very comfortable place in the strip mall next to the bank in Uvita.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks to Don and Nancy, my Missouri visitors. Some of the white water here in costa rica brings back fond memories of the Ozarks. I wish I could have been around while you two were at our special southern spot. Next time, I promise to stick around. Pura Vida Greg

This was our 3rd time renting the cottage and there is no doubt we will be back! We love this area of Costa Rica and find Beachhouse Incognito to be the perfect "home base" for adventures and/or relaxing. Accomodations offer everything you need, property is beautiful, location is excellent, and the hosts (Greg - owner and Alex - caretaker) are super helpful and friendly. We enjoyed lazy mornings relaxing/reading in the rocking chairs on the deck, beautiful sunsets on the beach, and close access to a number of adventures in the near-by towns of Dominical and Uvita. If you love surfing (or want to learn), this area of Costa Rica offers great beaches and great waves. Lots of good restaurants in the area and the ceviche and fresh fruit from the road side stands are not to be missed! We've been back home only a few days and we miss it already.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: What great neighbors Roxanne and Sheldon have been. I had the pleasure of being around during part of their stay. It's always a bonus, when you get to spend a little time with your guests. It's like I'm on vacation too. When your guests enjoyment spreads over into my life, my tico smile and attitudebecomes totally PURA VIDA! You made my day! Great job Alex! Greg Miller
