Why the Owner Chose Georgetown

Because of it's location...close to 7 ski resorts, hiking trails, Guanella Pass, and the Georgetown Loop Railroad. It is easy to get to and from Denver and the airport. We also desired Georgetown because it is not located in a resort community; it is never too crowded. It takes no time to get to Summit County and the various resorts.

We used to live on the east coast and travel once a year to Colorado to ski. We always stopped in Georgetown because of the lake and historic downtown area.

The Unique Benefits at this Townhome

Very private town home with a walkout basement that backs to nature. Short walk to Georgetown Lake, and historic Georgetown.

Our property has a tandem kayak stored on-site. Paddles and life vests are available. A Thule car rack and aluminum kayak carrier are available. The aluminum carrier is used to roll the kayak to Georgetown's lake.

A
Guanella Pass Road

Scenic byway through Guanella Pass. Bypass I-70 and take to Route 285. Pass through a succession of distinct environments. Opens 5/22/09.

B
Historic Georgetown

Downtown historic Georgetown with shops and restaurants. Well-preserved Victorian structures in Georgetown remind visitors of a day when the town was known as “Silver Queen of the Rockies.”

C

Black Hawk is famous for their exciting gambling saloons & newer vegas style and "themed" casinos now, the town is quite rich in history, too.

D

Central City was the first town to open casinos in CO. There are five open casinos. Also a popular attraction is the world famous Central City opera house.

    • This condo is in a great location and is a terrific value. It is only minutes away from Loveland Ski area. Loveland is never crowded and offers many slopes for beginners to experts. The view from the top of the continental divide is astonishing. We had the Colorado ski experience without the hassle of the tunnel and traffic. Loveland's cheaper too! The condo is lovely and well maintained. All of the usual kitcten items were available and in very good condition. The beds and linens were very comfortable. The view out the back was magnificent. We saw deer daily. It was very private. The mountain looks easier to hike than it really is! ;-) The town is charming. We ate in various restaurants and spent a lot in the shops. Don't miss the homemade root beer floats downtown. The owner has provided several guidebooks to the area. I highly recommend this condo and will return for my next Colorado vacation.

    • If you are looking for a very nice condo near ski slopes without paying the ski slope prices this is it. We greatly enjoyed staying in this condo. In fact we have stayed in it twice once in the summer and once in the winter. It is in a great location and is very well furnished.
