"A crow's nest is a structure in the upper part of the mainmast of a ship that is used as a lookout point. It was a sailor in the crow's nest (Rodrigo de Triana) who actually first witnessed the Americas in 1492, rather than Christopher Columbus."
Welcome to our Lookout Point.
This elegant spacious beach getaway offers 3 levels, over 1800 sqft and is perfect for small corporate gatherings,small and large families or groups wanting to vacation together. It's also perfect for a romantic weekend for couples, who want to pamper themselves.
Enjoy magnificent sunsets from most rooms in the house and from the balcony. Take a relaxing stroll on the beach, whale watching, shelling, or just taking in the sounds and sights of the Pacific Ocean. To the south you can see the Siuslaw River Jetties and Baker Beach just to the north.
Enjoy fine dining just a half a block away at the Driftwood Shores Hotel and Restaurant where you can enjoy romantic candlelight dining while watching the moon and stars sparkle off the ocean waves.
Just minutes away from The Crow's Nest are several attractions such as the Sea Lion Caves, the only sea lion cave of its kind in North America, or the Heceta Head Light House, one of the most photographed light houses in the world. Don’t forget to visit Old Town Florence where you can visit some of the finest bistros, cafes and restaurants that Florence has to offer. Visit the galleries which offer art works and fabulous sculptures and creations from many of the local artists as well as from around the world.
If you are an off-roader this is the heart of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. There are large areas of the dunes open to off roading, or there are quiet hiking trails through forests and dunes, estuaries and hills to the beach. Florence is truly a center for a diverse array of outdoor activities.
With its three (3) bedrooms and the loft, the Crow's Nest is cost efficient for large groups. The lower level bedroom has a Queen size bed with it's own bath. On the main level there are 2 bedrooms with King beds in each and a full bath. Further, the main level has a relaxing sitting area, a kitchen/dining area, and a large family room. The hand carved stairs to the Loft, where there is Queen size sofa bed.

Perfect for our family Thanksgivng weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend at this beautiful beach house. We walked to the beach a few times a day even in the rain because it was so close and scenic. The house was perfect for our needs. It is very nicely decorated and we immediately felt at home when we walked in. We had two families, 4 adults and 4 'young adults', and everyone was comfortable. There are plenty of linens and the house is very nicely decorated. We cooked all our dinners in the house, including Thanksgiving dinner, and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. Safeway and Fred Meyer are just a few minutes drive from the home which we were happy about since we had quite a few groceries to buy plus last minute items. We also had time to shop on Bay street downtown, which is a small area with some great little shops. We enjoyed our stay here and hope to come back! Thank you for sharing your home!

Comfortable, Clean and Close to the beach

Although this property was larger than we needed, it was perfect for the four of us. There were two nice bedroom on the main floor with comfy king size beds, a nice bright kitchen and spacious eating area. Most of our time was spent at the picnic type table which afforded us views of the ocean from several windows. On the same level was a large living room with a leather sofa and love seat. We temporality moved a couple large chairs from a cozy nook in the kitchen to the living room when we had guests. Also on that level was one nice size bathroom. Up stairs was a large loft overlooking the kitchen with sofa a bed and TV. Down stairs (just of the entrance) was another bedroom with a queen size bed and a bathroom. We did not need that bedroom so we had the guys use that bathroom. The house is in a great location with an easy walk to the beach. I would not recommend this house to people who can't climb stairs or families with small children. Special thanks to Tony for all his help in securing the property. He returned my calls promptly and answered all my questions honestly and returned my security deposit within days of our departure.

Excellent location, had a wonderful time on the family vacation. The Crowes Nest is everthing it promises and more, including a quick refund on deposit. Well managed, clean, and spacious. It is very close to the Beach and within a short drive to the old town florence, dunes, and other activities. As a military family I hope that I can return again and I would reccomend for any family wishing to vacation in florence.

We've just returned from our second stay. The Crows Nest is bright and comfortable and has more than enough room for two families. Its a short walk to the beach and a short drive to the dunes. The owner is very easy to deal with and damage deposits are returned promptly. For a nice dinner in Florence, try Feast. For a nice dinner AND good service, try Ona in Yachats. Also, the dune buggy rides are a must!

Our family of five spent six days in this very spacious, lovely decorated and welcoming home. There was room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. With three teenagers, it was so nice that everyone had their own personal space. We really appreciated the central location to so many activities from crabbing and fishing, walks on the beach, exploring tidal pools, riding sand rails, exploring Old Town Florence, to simply sitting on the deck watching the sun set while oysters were grilling on the Weber outside. Thank you for a memorable summer vacation.

We absolutely loved The Crow's Nest! It was peaceful and perfectly situated for our vacation needs. It provided a wonderful warmth and coziness to return home to each day we were out. The layout of the house was also ideal for the 7 of us, as we each felt like we had our own privacy to retreat to when needed. Of course, we would be more than happy to pass along information on The Crow's Nest to anyone who might be looking for a Florence destination. It really has so much to offer.

Such a beautiful house, we had a great time. We had 4 couples staying for the weekend, one from Eugene, one from Veneta, one from Albany and one from Corvallis... The location was wonderful and the house is decorated in such a cute way. Thanks for letting us stay, we had fun!
