Loved the condo! Clean, beautiful. Our ocean view was spectacular. Loved waking up and having coffee on the lanai looking at the ocean. The condo complex was neat and clean. Great grass area to lay out by the ocean, plus beach to lay on and jump in ocean. Pool was nice too. Location was perfect. Easy acess to either side of island. We would stay here again in a minute.

Owner response: Thank you for the fabulous review! That's exactly why we bought the condo at Kihei Beach Resort!
This condo unit was everything my sister and I expected. It was clean, well furnished and right on the beach, in a very small complex, away from the hubbub of tourists. One does need a car however, because the supermarket and restaurant in Kihei are about two miles away. The farmer's market across the street has great fruit, vegetables and baked goods. We enjoyed watching the canoe club members' daily practice, swimmers, paddle boarders, sea turtles and even a couple of dolphins from our lanai. For those of you that don't mind driving the distance to Lahina, the Ulelana show is wonderful and affordable. Be sure to check on show times, because there are some black out nights. We will definitely be back, hopefully for a much longer stay.

A week in paradise
A week in paradise
This was our 6th visit to Maui and our second time renting a condo vs staying in a hotel. We loved everything about this unit. Sometimes you aren't sure if photos on a website may be misleading but this met and even exceeded our expectations. The unit is lovely and the location was ideal - listening to the surf all night long, walking/jogging on the long stretch of beach, watching the outriggers, walking across the street to the farmer's market, everything was just perfect. We treated the condo as if it were our own, and indeed we wish it was.

This was our first trip to Maui and our third trip to Hawaii. We absolutely loved the condo. The view was spectacular. The condo was clean and everything we needed was available. The bed is the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. We really enjoyed the complex. The grounds are very well maintained and the pool was refreshing. The location of this condo was perfect. It was very easy to get to everything; dining, shopping, beaches, & major Maui sights. The scuba diving in Maui is fantastic, this condo was the cherry on top of our Maui vacation. For anyone who loves shaved ice, there is a local place across the street from the condo next to the ABC store. YUMMM We have already started planning our trip for next year.

This condo is very central, giving you the option of touring to the North and South. We found the location to far out of town and would of perferred to be located more South. The high winds prevented swimming in the ocean out front of the condo. The pool area was very nice. The bedroom is on the back of the property which was very loud with the traffic. The canoe club is stationed next door which was lovely to expeience seeing them row right in front of the condo. Be warned that they depart at 5:15 am and their chants will have you up watching them at this time also. The front desk had a temporary lack of full time personnel which possibly lead to some issues that may of been addressed. Around 3 a.m. on two mornings we were woken for about an hour with someone dumpster diving. The police were called to the area on two other occasions also. We had come from spending a week in the Lahaina area and we missed having an ice chest, beach chairs and cleaner condo. It needs a good deep cleaning.

Owner response: Yes, it's centrally located. We searched all the islands and kept going back to that location to invest our retirement dollars and enjoy the beautiful beach, beautiful sunsets, and beautiful full moons without anything or anyone obstructing our view OR rubbing elbows with lots and lots of people. Yes, the winds blow on Maui! They also blow on every other island! Guests should be warned! Yes, we love the Canoe Club next door. They practice the traditions of their ancestors - we respect and admire the older generation teaching the traditions to the younger generation. Yes, the front desk was experiencing turnover during this time frame. Not sure how to respond to the shortage of beach chairs...there are lots of chairs available and we've never seen them all occupied. We left an ice chest in the closet but apparently it's been removed by a previous guest, we'll have to get another one, thanks for the heads up. Our cleaning company is the best there is, if it was windy and the lanai doors were left open there is going to be sand blowing in. I wonder if these guests would have been better suited to a hotel setting instead of a condo setting. The benefit of staying in a condo is you get the view and direct access to beachfront (12 yards!) at a much, much more reasonable rate.

We had such a great time. What a great view, you can't get much closer to the ocean. The lanai was great for watching the sunset with a cocktail or two. We watched whales breaching farther out in the ocean. The 2nd floor location is convenient, and the condo has all the amenities you could want for. The lawn is as nice as a golf course green, and great for reading, and soaking up a few rays. The pool is refreshing, if you don't want to go into the ocean. I could spend a few more weeks there anytime!!

Feb, 2012. Pros:Location on the north end of Kihei a definite plus. It's out of the main stream vacation condos and is very quiet (except for the roosters crowing in the morning). The lawn was immaculate, the beach right in front of you and the pool area very nice. Stainless steel fridge, microwave and dishwasher all relatively new. Stove is older but very functional. Nice layout of the room...wide open...when at the stove you look out the lanai doors onto the ocean. King size bed, very comfortable. Nice bathroom towels, etc. Electric blind on the lanai was fabulous for late afternoons. 2 large flat screen TV's. Farmers market and ABC store across the street very convenient. Cons: bathrooms need upgrading, need proper tea towels (not old terry towels). Could be a little cleaner (drawers, etc.) I spent 20 minutes cleaning the blender to make mai tais ! It was disgusting, but I guess the caretakers can't check everything. Iron needs to be severely de-scaled !! made a mess of a pair of pants! Overall a great place. Will be back hopefully in 2013

Owner response: Thank you for the constructive feedback. We've put several thousand dollars into updating the condo over the 2+years we've owned it. We have saved for our dream for over 30 years, but with one child in college and one in highschool we have to prioritize. The bathrooms are on our list to do; we wish they were updated as much as you do! We will certainly take care of the iron, blender and tea towels.

My wife and I travel for work on a weekly basis. We stay at Hilton property's each week. This trip we took a break from the hotel scene and decided on the condo. Now we did do one night at the Waldorf and two in Hana. This condo was unreal. Before I could get the bags in the door, my wife asked if we could be closer to the ocean. Everything from the whales swimming in front of us, to the great sunsets. We are waiting odor the 2013 calendar to be posted so we can book our dates. Thank you for a great stay

Condo location doesn't get any better than this!
Condo location doesn't get any better than this!
We stayed just a week but wished it could have been much longer! This was our first time to Maui and we made a very good choice on the condo and the whole holiday location! It was wonderful to sit on the lanai early mornings with a coffee and watch whales jumping right out in front of us - WOW! The condo is just the right size for us and had everything we could want. And the bed is awesome! The breeze coming right in off the ocean felt great! We really liked the location too as it is a nice quiet area but close enough to get anywhere in minutes and we enjoyed the farmers market right across the street too. The beach in front is nice to take long walks on to refresh and unwind. We rented a convertable and drove the road to Hana on a beautiful day....what a road I'll say! We also drove up to the crater Haleakala on a misty day which was very neat but a bit scary at times. The Tedeschi Winery down that way is worth checking out and the drive is beautiful....gotta love the taste of the 'Splash'...mmmmm! There is no shortage of beaches to choose from here that's for sure! We discovered just how big the waves can be at Makena Beach (also known as Big Beach) so beware! But the sand everywhere is wonderful. And our weather was perfect...88-90f every day. We bought food for breakfast at condo and some lunches to go from the market and ate out suupers in the evening. There are lots of great choices but if you want a good italian meal check out 'Aroma'. Cool Cats and The Big Wave make great lunch sandwiches too. We also very much enjoyed a whole morning on the 'Frogman 2' boat with a full 2 hours of snorkelling, 1 hr at Molokini and 1 hr at Turtle town, including morning treats and a great sandwich after on deck.....quite a deal! And we saw 3 turtles and lots of fish! The crew was great too. Our whole stay was wonderful....fun and relaxing and adventurous and new all at once! We'll probably come back and would surely consider staying at this condo again. We loved it! It very much help make our vacation most memorable! We miss the sound of the ocean already! Aloha! I am a single mom who just returned from her first trip to Maui - it was a "dream vacation" for myself, my two teenage children, and one of my son's friends. It was a wonderful fun filled 10 days in paradise! And, our condo through VRBO at Kihei Beach Resort was ideal for our family and friend. The website pictures were true to how we found the unit, resort, and beach once we arrived. Everything was clean, in working order, and very comfortable to suit all our needs - one slight problem though . . . . . the king size bed in the bedroom, was almost too comfortable!!!! I didn't want to get out of bed early to go snorkeling, etc. because the bed was so great :-) Having two TVs/VCRs and bathrooms was a very nice feature to suit everyone's wants and needs. The central air conditioning and multiple ceiling fans were refreshing to have after a hot day out in the sun. The clean tile pool is a little small, but the great thing about it is, it's oceanside, so you can watch the kids in the ocean while you get a dip and relax in the nice lounge chairs that are plentiful (not snatched up by early morning, like they are at the big resorts). The beach is wonderful - nice, soft sand. And, the resort location is ideal - besides being oceanfront, and I mean, oceanfront (you couldn't get any closer without being in the ocean), you are centrally located on the island, and conveniently across from the Kihei Farmer's Market that is open every M, W and F with plenty of yummy fruits, veggies, breads, jams, souveniers, etc. And, as an added bonus, the Kihei Canoe Club is right next door for your viewing pleasure each morning as they practice. We had so much fun snorkeling, surfing, parasailing, swimming, horseback riding, and of course, going to a luau - the kalua pig was awesome!!!! In all, we had a fabulous trip that went off without a hitch - I hope someday we'll have the pleasure of doing it again! Mahalo!

About the owner: We've dreamed for years of owning a home on the beach on Maui. In March 2010 we made that dream a reality by buying this beautiful condo. We had made several trips to the islands contemplating where our favorite place was. Kihei Beach Condominimums on Sugar Beach was the place we always came back to. We are Galen, Cheryl, Laura and Morgan Swisher from rural McPherson, KS. Galen is retired, Morgan is in college and Laura graduated from Texas A&M in Galveston with a Marine Biology BS. You can guess where she found her love for the ocean and marine life. Cheryl has finally retired, so we are plotting how to spend more time on the island. Until then we're pleased to share our condo with our special guests.
