(Special Winter only Getaway: loft bedroom and fouton in living room - 4 max)
Wake up to an ocean view! Set on 3 acres of woodland with conservation land on two sides, this secluded, 5-bedroom, 4-bath house is a perfect getaway for multiple families, generations, or group retreats. House is split into an insulated 'winter side' and open 'summer side' with a door in between - great for two families or groups with young children. Each side has its own kitchen. Enjoy floor-to-ceiling ocean views in both kitchens and dining rooms plus three out of four bedrooms. Watch sailboats as you dine! Stroll five minutes on wooded path to our neighborhood association-owned beach for swimming, sunning or boating.
This is a great location for families that want to 'get away from it all.' Lounge on our brick patio while watching egrets swoop over Buzzard’s bay. Bike, walk or let kids play on private tree-lined roads, or swim and collect seashells at the beach. Shopping centers, restaurants and Water Wiz! park short hop on route 6, and an easy drive to Hyannis, Wood’s Hole and Cape Cod National Seashore.
This house includes a wood stove and working fireplace, plus cable and internet. 'Bunk room' with two bunk beds great for kids, futons and sleep sofas for extra guests in both living rooms. All bathrooms full, including one with tub (great for when everyone comes back from the beach all sandy). Two baths and one kitchen newly renovated. Skylights, exposed beams, big windows and architecture make for a lovely, comfortable place to stay.
Give your kids (and yourself) a chance to relax, explore tidepools, boat, or swim on beautiful Buzzard's Bay, just 40 minutes from Boston. This house is not just a 'rental property' - it is our family's vacation home. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do!

This house is a cozy reminder of our house in the Adirondacks. Exposed wood in the summer side, bookshelves filled with novels and reference books from the 1960s and 70s (one of the bedrooms had a complete set of World Book Encyclopedias, came in handy when we wanted to research Ospreys, which are nesting in the neighbor's field), Yahtzee and checkers. Location is wonderful -- quick walk to the beach. Our extended family of 3 generations enjoyed kayaking, swimming, exploring the critters at low tide, and walking at the water's edge. No 2 days were alike. My husband and I slept in the loft on the "winter side" and were serenaded to sleep by the frogs residing in a nearby pond. The location is quiet and private -- a great place to get away. Kids slept in bunkroom -- tall people watch your heads -- second floor ceiling is low. Both kitchens were well-equiped. Most beds were comfy -- however the twin bed in the north bedroom was too hard for gramma so we added a mattress from one of the bunk beds. Owners are super-responsive and helpful. Prior to us renting the place, they promptly answered our questions. Once there, they quickly answered an email regarding a non-working dishwasher (check the GFI switch on the wall). Can't beat Wareham -- amenities of the Cape without the traffic. Route 6 has mini-golf, ice cream stands, and a water park. We took a couple of day trips to the Cape to visit other family members and go deep-sea fishing out of Hyannis. I wish I had another week to stay.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The owners are very pleasant and were readily available via phone and email to answer all of our questions prior to our trip. They even sent us a floor plan so we could see where everyone would fit. I can honestly say that the house and grounds are even more beautiful than they appear in the photos. The short walk to the private beach is pleasant and the beach itself is lovely. It was nice to have use of the two kayaks during our stay. The house and property is well equipped and maintained with plenty of towels and linens for a large group. We mostly stayed around the house and enjoyed the beach, cooking and relaxing in the evening with board games after dinner. I don't think we turned on the TV the whole week. The location is gorgeous - very secluded and heavily wooded. The flip-side of this coin is that the mosquitoes and biting flies were voracious. Even with long clothing and bug spray, they would bite us through our clothes. Since we are not early risers and check out time is 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, we actually left the day before as we were itchy and cranky from the bites. Our party ranged in age from 13 years to 78 years and on the whole, everyone enjoyed themselves. I would definitely recommend this property to others. A real Home Away From Home.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Due to the mild winter, bugs have been particularly bad this season throughout southern New England. Usually the prevailing breezes on our windy hill keep them away. We are delighted that this multi-generational family enjoyed their stay in our retreat by the bay.

We had two related families (my hubby and his brother) with young teenagers/adults staying for two glorious weeks. This place was PERFECT for our summer vacation! Having two 'well-equiped' kitchens and a gas grill kept meal preparations a breeze. Yes, the bay beach was rocky, but we found watershoes to wear along with our own flip-flops. The water was 'full of character' for swimming given the tides and weather changing on a daily basis, one day smooth, the next choppy. Also, there was plenty of sand for sunbathing! We all had a great time with the kayaks and exploring the shorelines, plus our dogs were in heaven! We had everything we needed for gatherings to eat and play games, even an ice cream maker to enjoy 2 batches of homemade chocolate, and one of our own recipe invented by my brother-in-law called "Ginger Peach"...yummm! The surrounding rural woodsy areas made the place seem as our own, with no neighboring houses in sight. It was heavenly. There were only two drawbacks; 1) a 'squealing' noisy dryer, but there is a clothesline. I imagine future guests will either get to use a replacement dryer or it will be fixed, and 2) my hubby, brother-in-law, and son are all over 6'3" and some of the lower ceilings on the second floor required some 'head-ducking' on their part. They quickly learned the drill when ascending the stairs (mostly only to sleep and shower anyway), so I didn't hear many complaints. This place provided the perfect setting for many wonderful lifelong vacation memories and photos. Thanks, Wendy (and Terry) CandelaRecommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers.

My family & I just spent a wonderful 6 days at this house. The house provided enough room for our family of 10. We ha 5 kids, ranging in age from 2yrs. - 11 yrs. They loved hiking through the woods to the beach. Although the beach is very rocky, they still spent hours running & playing! The only real problems we had with the house were lighting issues. Many of the lights appeared to be there for decoration only, as the on/off knobs had been removed. The kids would have liked it if there had been a working TV (with cable) in the bunk room. They had to settle for a TV with a DVD player. All in all, we were pleased with the house & would recommend it to friends & family!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: We have resolved the lighting issues and provide cable service to both TV's. Come enjoy this magnificent getaway on the bay.

Great for family reunion. Amazing views. Easy walk to the beach. Only wish the beach was sandier. We had up to 14 people there. Most rooms were fine. Bunk room was a bit under par. Would recommend this house.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.
