Pleasant clean accomodations with great view, great hot tub and good kitchen. Bring a non-stick skillet. Access can be a challenge unless you are used to driving a rutted country road.

Owner response:Thanks for good recommendation! There are tons of supplies, including 3 old fashioned cast iron skillets, and a brand new set of non-stick ones, so we will need to see if they may have gone missing. There was a ton of rain this weekend, but the gravel roads are well maintained. The last section is a bit steep but you do not need a 4-wheeler. We have a minivan.

Plenty of room in the cabin and had the feeling of being very secluded from other cabins. Very manageable drive to all surrounding communities. WIll stay again.

We loved our stay at this cabin. The owners thought of everything! Anyone who has small children, I highly recommend this cabin. It was so nice not having to watch my 2 year old's every little move. There wasn't anything he could get into, and I felt he was as safe there as he was at our own home. The cabin was extremely clean and the master bed sleeps AMAZINGLY!! The hot tub is too cool with the little waterfall and different color lights and felt AMAZING also!! We saw a hen turkey walking up the driveway while staying there which was awesome. We will def. rent this cabin again and recommend it to friends and family esp the ones with small kids! Thank you for an awesome 5th wedding anniversary in your cabin!!!

We had a magical long weekend in the cabin. As we first pulled into the driveway, my three year old exclaimed "it's Santa's house!!" It was the end of March, and the flowers were blooming and not looking the least bit Christmasy, but whatever. He's three. Then, when we walked in and saw the cabin actually decorated for Christmas (in a tasteful and understated way that works year round), our three year old was convinced! We heard all weekend about how "that's Santa's hottub," and "that's Santa's closet." He proudly told his techers this week that he "went to the mountains, and stayed in Santa Claus' house." What a memory that will be! Besides my three year old's fascination with "Santa's house," we were extraordinarily comfortable there. We have stayed in VRBO rentals all over, from 8 bedroom luxury accommodations on the Gulf Coast, to a canal house in the Netherlands, and we can honestly say this was the most comfortable rental we have stayed in. Everything we needed was right there, and easy to find. The house was spotless, the sheets were soft, the screened in porch was perfect for containing little ones while we relaxed outside on the porch swing. Everything was well-maintained and orderly, but it wasn't such a stuffy or fancy place that I was worried about my toddler and preschooler running around or touching things. We kept having moments where we would think, man we should have brought X, and then we would open a closet and there it would be. They have thought of everything! Anyway, as you can see, we were quite taken with the magical little cabin in the mountains. I highly recommend this rental, especially for families with young children. Maybe you'll get to experience a bit of the magic too.

We have been staying in this area around 4 times a year for the last 20 years. This was one of the best we have ever stayed at. Superb amenities. Even though it was just my wife and I, I could tell that it is really set up with kids in mind. Bruce was very helpful with the couple of questions I had. Pride in ownership really showed though out the property. We definitely felt like guests instead of renters.

The cabin is nice and is generally comfortable. I visited N. Ga in the middle of the winter. The cabin had been winterized and it took 2 hours for the cabin to become reasonably warm. The cabin is nicely furnished and comes very well stocked with the basics for a weekend away. Shopping is available nearby and Blue Ridge is a beatiful area. The owner was very pleasant to deal with. I hope this helps you decide to rent this cabin, when you are visiting this beautiful part of the country. I would not hesitate to recommend it to you.

This cabin was lovely! Mostly secluded, extremely clean and well built. The hot tub works wonderfully and the screened in porch is a very nice touch. Will definitely be staying here again in the future!

What an awesome cabin in the woods! My family and I had a wonderful time. Cabin was fully stocked, comfortable and very clean. The zip line, hammock, kid swing, porch swing, hot tub and foosball table were a hit with our kids. Fireplace and TV were great, comfy bedding, porch and outside table were nice too. I highly recommend this cabin for families with small children or anyone else looking for rest and relaxation! Great location and beautiful sunset off the back porch!!!! Five stars plus! Keith and I were married Dec 16, 2010 & spent the 16th-19th at "A Simple Life". The cabin was AMAZING!! Everything you could ever imagine for a weekend get away from two, or a family vacation. The cabin was clean, well stocked (towels, linens, pillows, extra cover), the hot tub was perfect, we enjoyed dinner on the grill one night & spent each night in front of the fireplace. Thank you Bruce & Ali for a perfect honeymoon at a GREAT price, Keith and I will be returning with the family.

Ali & I came here for peace and sweet fellowship. I have loved sitting in my PJ's and talking & sharing while the weather outside was in the teens. I loved going to the drive-in movies in the snow and wrapped in blankets and layers of clothes laughing at chick flicks. This has been so sweet, fun, and safe. Great family time and reconnect after my deployment. Tyler (our 3 yr old) enjoyed the walks, zip line, and especially the swing. Madelyn (our 10 month old) enjoyed cruising the floors. My wife and I enjoyed the family time again! We had a great lunch at Mercier Apple Orchard and had a great Apple Fritter. We also drove by Brasstown Bald and played in the snow. We then drove by Vogel State Park which looks like it would be great fun in warmer weather. Drove through beautiful but curvy 180/60/Morganton (bring camera and motion sickness pills!). I will definitely be back with my fly rod.. some great rivers/creeks in that area. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Thank you so much for a great family vacation.

It's my last day here, and I'm getting ready to leave. Thank you for providing such a comfortable, peaceful setting. I cam here by myself to find just the right environment to relax and to reflect, and this was perfect. I stopped at a grocery store on my way in and stocked up on good food, and have since spent my time cooking, reading, hiking, soaking in the hot tub, and journaling. I also did some yoga stretches in front of the fireplace. The only contact that I had was with Linda Rice at Blue Ridge Mountain Outfitters. She was very friendly and helpful and full of information about hiking in the area. I ended up doing the Flat Creek Loop Trail in the Aska Trails Area (Blue Ridge) and the Gahuti Trail in Fort Mountain State Park (Chatsworth). Both were well maintained and beautiful. I'm planning on stopping at Carter's Lake on my way out of town. Best wishes to your family for the New Year and thanks again for all the thoughtfulness you have taken in making your home so comfortable for guests.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in your home! We hiked, rode horses, swang on the tree swing, and enjoyed the "light up Blue Ridge" activities. Our 6 year old loved seeing Santa Claus arrive by train! Our days ended with a visit to the hot tub!

We had a lovely time here at your cabin. Our little boys loved the stuffed animals, and our almost 2 year old especially appreciated that there were chairs just his size. We came to North GA last year and stayed in a motel room -- what a change! This morning, driving into town, we stopped the car and let our 4 year old strip frost off the grass. We all enjoyed visiting local apple houses, and agreed that the fresh-from-the-fryer apple cider doughnut we had today at Hillcrest Apple House is the best doughnut we have ever had (and we used to live down the street from Krispy Kreme!)

What a beautiful spot you have. The view is Great and it is so peaceful here. We had a much needed long weekend getaway. No TV, No Radio, No phones, just family time exploring, playing games, bonfires at night, and dad playing his guitar. The hot tub is a great addition. We even had lots of stars and a full moon. The girls loved Mr. Peacock and all of them got lots of exercise chasing each other. As we are packing up to leave the girls keep asking "when will we be back?". A week to relax together and enjoy a bit of the cool weather of Fall. Trying to explain to our 3 year old what a mountain is and taking our 19 month old to see the train were highlights. We all enjoyed the zip line and the waterfalls (Amicalola & Falls Branch!). The hot tub was welcom at the end of the day too! The peacock was a fun addition too.

"As the dear pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God." Ps 42:1 All of the decorations with deer reminds us of this verse. Truly this was a retreat for us with much needed rest. Having had several family things (surgeries, caring for elderly parents, and being a pastor's family) we were blessed by the quietness of the mountains, the hot tub melting our muscles, and just having time alone. Our family has never had a better time away at a mountain cabin! Our 3 year old daughter couldn't get enough of the swing outside -- I'll email you pictures. Thank you very much for the use of your beautiful house nestled deep in the glorious mountainside. We were fortunate to be introduced to this place from our school's auction. Arriving from Florida, it was still quite as hot here as there (90's) but it cooled down by Saturday. The scenery was breath-taking at sunset. We enjoyed the land here and in the surrounding area. Amicalola Falls is a must see - we did all the steps! We love the cool mountain water, the deer on the side of the road and the simple beauty of nature. I took a lot of pictures that will bring back fond memories of this beautiful place.

This was the greatest get away weekend ever --our 50th! Being with our family, doing all the fun things with our boys, lots of laughing and loving. Your cabin is so homey and comfortable. We had a wonderful time in your cabin. The boys all enjoyed the wilderness, especially the Swing. My daughter enjoyed reading on the porch swing. We had such a fabulous holiday stay here at your beautiful log cabin!
