Anchorage house description
Our beautiful Cedar-sided home sits on a secluded lot with one of the best ocean and mountain views in Anchorage. We have a large kitchen fully supplied with anything you would need to make your own meals while on vacation at our house. Enveloped in huge windows, this is probably the room you'll spend your most time in as you sip your coffee and drink in the view.
With over 3,000 sq ft of living space there is plenty of room to relax AND play. Our large sun deck is comfortably furnished with handmade Nicaraguan hammocks, comfy chairs and table for outdoor dining, and hosts the most spectacular ocean and mountain view found on this side of the Hill.
The entertainment room has a Television with all the works, our personal DVD selection will be available for your use, a new Foosball table and board game/puzzle table for some fun competition.
The four bedrooms are fully furnished and tastefully decorated. The master bedroom is on the top level of the house, outfitted with a queen bed and private bathroom- this is one of the most beautiful rooms in the house during the summer. The two bedrooms on the main floor have queen beds and access to a shared bathroom. The fourth bedroom is on the above-ground basement level with a queen-size bed as well. This is located on the same floor as the entertainment room, making it an excellent room for teenagers or kids.
With easy access to the Seward Highway you can be downtown in 18 Minutes where you can rent bikes to ride the coastal trail, visit the famous Satuday Market for souvenirs or just sit back with a drink on the porch at Snow Goose Restaurant and watch the sun evade setting. 30 Minutes to the south is Alyeska Ski Resort in the small town of Girdwood where you'll find all levels of hiking trails and can eat lunch at the top of the Tram.

The place was very nice and had great views. The decor was a little dated, but it didn't make much of a difference. We were lucky throughout our week, as the weather was gorgeous, but that meant that we had to keep the shades drawn during the day so that the house didn't get so hot. We learned very quickly. Overall, we had a great time. I would highly recommend this property.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The pictures do not do the rental justice. The view is gorgeous and we really enjoyed the open floor plan. We did have issues opening the kitchen window sometimes and that made the house warm sometimes at the end of the day so we often opened the door to the porch which let in stray mosquitoes sometimes. The kitchen was fully equipped with many appliances and was great to use while we were there. We did not see any wildlife in our yard but did notice a large flattened area of grass. The house comfortably slept our party of 7 and we had no issues running out of hot water for showers. I would definitely recommend this house for your stay in Anchorage if you want to stay on the hillside and have great views of the arm.

Great Rental for my family. Lots of space and 4 bedrooms with a queen bed in each. The upstairs bathroom is small but a full bathroom on all 3 levels. The deck and the view are amazing and made this stay well worth it. The lot where the house is located is also very private and wooded. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Again, the location and view can not be beat!

Location was great and the view was awsome. The water citutation was not good. When advertising how many can be housed it should be noted that not all can take showers after each others because you run out of water. Also I don't like not having a broom, mop, and even a vacume to use. The floors get pretty dirty even if you take your shoes off.

Owner response: We do have a house book that discusses things like trash, grounds, water, wildlife and other considerations. Water can be a consideration as we live on the side of a mountian. But this is only an issue if running the dish washer, clothes washing machine and multiple showers all at the same time. Our house keeper did accidentially lock the vacuum and broom in the maids closet. These items are normally available for our guests use. We do have a care taker in town and local contact numbers if there are questions about the house or area.
The locale and the view were amazing! I'm envious of the owners for being able to enjoy the view whenever they want. Thanks for the awesome accomodations!

Just like home
Just like home
Our stay in your home was wonderful. The home was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen had all the necessary tools To prepare home cooked meals for our Soldier Stationed at Fort Richardson. The views were awesome, we have tons of photos to prove it. We appreciate the Use of the laptop. The only suggestion I would make is to have a TV or a radio on The main floor, morning coffee and world News goes hand in hand.

The Final Stage of a Great Alaskan Cruise
The Final Stage of a Great Alaskan Cruise
Good Afternoon Brad: Your house was a perfect place to stay for the end of our Alaskan cruise adventure. All nine of us were comfortably situated throughout your house and the fully equipped kitchen provided us the opportunity to cook our meals at the end of the day while enjoying the view from your deck. Your place was very clean on arrival and I trust we also left it in an acceptable condition upon our departure. As an added bonus, a moose decided to join us in your back yard for approximately 30 minutes and feast from the trees and bushes on your property. That event certainly added to our holiday. I would definitely recommend your house to others who may be seeking accommodation for a large group of friends. Thanks again for sharing your house.

A Mixed Bag
A Mixed Bag
It's a beautiful setting and could be a very nice home. Unfortunately, maintenance is in dire need throughout the house. Neither the front door, or the entry door from the "mud room" would latch. A gentle push and the doors would pop open. Locking the deadbolt is a must to secure the door. I'm not sure if there was a door in the house the operated properly. It seems all hung up or had problems latching. Other areas appeared incomplete. Trim missing, exposed insulation, toilet shim visible, missing exterior siding, exterior trim warped and water damaged, tile work in one bathroom missing, etc. You cannot walk in the house without the people on the floor below hearing you. The floors really squeak a lot. I'm use to single story homes so I may be highly sensitive to this but it was obvious to all in our party. Now for the positive. It served our needs sufficiently for the party of our size. Essentially, we used it as a home base and ventured out in multiple groups, joining back up at the property a day or two later. Gatherings in the evenings were great in this space. It has a nice kitchen with all the gadgets you may require. The dining room table can seat 10. Large pantry space and frig if you plan to stock up on groceries as we did. The deck off the back overlooking Turnagin Arm provides spectacular views and is a great gathering place. We spent a lot of time out there. The gas grill was very nice and proved useful. The landlords were always responsive and courteous but they need to wrap up some of these loose ends before I could recommend it to anyone. Hopefully, they will do so. The property has tremendous potentail.

We rented this unit in June 2009 and loved it. Fantastic Views of Turnagin Arm and Potter Marsh from the large deck. Only minutes from Anchorage. House has lots of room for a family to spread out since it has 3 levels. Kitchen is very well equipted for cooking. We met the owners while we were there and they are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this unit.

This house is very secluded which is awesome... Very quiet! Proximity to hiking trails is unbeatable while still being close to the ammenities of the city. Very spacious house, comfortable beds, feels just like home! Stunning views of the gorgeous mountains in the Alaska Range from almost every room in the house. I would definitely recommend staying here while you are vacationing in Alaska.
