Hi Sandy Back "downunder" with some wonderful memories of Hawaii. Our visit to the Big Island and your condo was definitely the highlight. Thank you so much for your hospitality, the unit was beyond our expectations, we all loved it and I got the main bedroom with the magic view overlooking the bay and turtles. We could have stayed longer but I am sure we will be back one day, so lucky to have found you! Thanks again for the memories and the Big Island will always be in our hearts. When I have a moment I will make a comment and add some pics on Tripadvisor. Aloha! Jill, Angie and Keane

Aloha Sandy!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing us to be guests in your place in Kona! Mahalo! Our whole family had such a great time relaxing and enjoying your beautiful townhouse. It felt clear that you'd put together everything as thoughtfully as possible -- all beautiful, yet simple and 'easy-to-use' and enjoy. What a perfect place to relax for the month.
We cannot say enough about how welcomed we felt, both before we arrived throughout the emails between you and me, and then once in Hawaii, as Jeri really made us feel at home. She's just fantastic! (Though I bet you already knew that!). So thank you time and again for having us as guests in your great place! We hope we can find a way to return in a couple years or so, and we'll be sure to contact you in the hope that you have something for us then.
In the interim, ALL our gratitude. (and since you mentioned pics before, attached is one from my parents' last night --Mom MADE us wear aloha gear, I swear

This charming and cozy townhouse was perfect for our group of three (two adults and one 14 year-old). We really loved being just steps from the ocean and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. The complex seemed very quiet during the week we were there, making it even more peaceful. The unit is not overly large, but we had plenty of room to relax and make ourselves at home. Everything was spotless when we arrived; the owners obviously take good care of the place. We loved having a well equipped kitchen where we could make a few meals (and blend a few drinks) without having to run out to a restaurant... with the added bonus of waterfront dining on the lanai! It's difficult to find anything to criticize about the property. Sure, the kitchen could be upgraded with granite counter tops, and it would be great if it and the upstairs bath were a little larger, but we really didn't notice those things. Since there is no A/C, you have to manually manage the temperature by opening/closing the windows and drapes if the weather gets hot. During our stay, the weather was pretty much perfect with warm days and cool nights, so it was no problem for us. If you have a small family and are looking for an oceanfront location which is convenient to Kailua-Kona but away from traffic and the bustle of town, then I doubt you'll find a better value on the island. We hope to be back again before too long!

We had a wonderful time! The townhouse was clean and nicely appointed with everything we needed. Our party included myself and my husband, our two adult children and a friend. We filled the townhouse, but since it was rare that all of us were actually inside at the same time, we never felt crowded. This condo also had a very nice patio/yard area that extended our living space. The two bathrooms and the kitchen have been nicely remodeled. Read more on Trip Advisor, March 28, 2011.

Keauhou Kona Surf And Racquet Club Resort - Wanderer1500 - 5 contributions Blairsville, GA, USA Mar 25, 2010 | Trip type: Business, Family Sandy is a wonderful hostess. The condo pictures and description are completely accurate, but it is even better than advertised. The views are amazing from the master bedroom and living room and kitchen and bathroom! There really are sea turtles on the quiet beach and the sounds of the surf to lull you to sleep. The location is wonderful- not a lot of people on the streets-- but very close to the quaint kailua-kona downtown area. Grocery store, restaurants and movies right up the hill. Wonderful snorkeling literally a few minutes north on Alii Road at the Kahaluu Beach Park- lots of amazing fish-- just swim out a little further than all the crowds to see them. What I really loved was the stocked supplies in the condo-- don't have to run out for soap and toilet paper when you arrive. Do restock though, it's only fair. I also like the fact that anything left behind that won't be used by new guests is given to needy families in the community. No waste! Stay here. You will not be disappointed!

“Townhouse #196 on Turtle Beach in Keauhou, Hawaii” - Keauhou Kona Surf And Racquet Club Resort This was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a quiet Hawaiian Holiday. We arrived without our luggage and thought "Oh no!" Then we went to the Bungelow and all sense of dread left. We sat in the chairs on the lanai and looked at the water, turtles on the sand, sunset and all anxiety left. It was excellent! We were able to relax in the cool interior of the Townhouse or, walk the beach some 25 feet out the back door. The full kitchen allowed us to fix all the local caught fish we could get our hands on. The close by stores and restaurants made life easier also. We only drove when neccessary. It was a five star vacation at a two star price.

#196 has without a doubt the BEST view” - Keauhou Kona Surf And Racquet Club Resort Without a doubt this condo has one of the best if not the best view in Kona. There were a number of days that had I not had my child with me I would have been so happy just to relax on the lanai for the day - I didn't want to go anywhere. The sounds of the waves at night are magical and the views just could not be matched. Our visit was over New Years and we were treated to a fireworks show on the beach - it was fabulous! The condo itself was extremely comfortable, clean and quiet. We absolutely loved it and are looking to book again next year. The pool was a big hit with my son. We loved walking over to the beach in the evening to see the turtles who had come in to rest for the evening - very cool. My only pet peeve: The BBQ's - the propane ones are a bit of a hike so we didn't bother to BBQ and the only one close was the old fashioned type that you had to put charcole in - too much work after a day boogie boarding at Hapuna Beach (a must). *** UPDATE: New propane BBQ close to unit! ***

"I could stay here forever, number 196." It is the perfect spot to vacation, best location out of all the units. It beat my expections! (which is very hard to do) The place is better than the pictures. The views are incredible, you hear the sound of the waves and have a plesant smell of the ocean. One day I saw a turtle from the condo suning itself. Condo has been nicely updated. Linens were high quality. The kitchen was wonderful to cook ina (small but very nice). Everything matched, full sets of plates, glasses and silverware. Cookware seemed brand new. It even had a bosch dishwasher. Couldn't hear it when it was running. I will be staying there again. Ps. owner (Sandy) was very pleasant to deal with.

Wonderful and Beautiful unit #196 just as advertised and more” We arrived to the condo just as advertised. The place was clean and all you could need for a wonderful comfortable stay. We found the nearby snorkeling beach to be a better experience than Hanauma Bay, which we visited on our trip as well. The condo complex is built on site with ancient native rock buildings that have been preserved and add a touch of culture that reminds you of the Island heritage. The nearby shopping center has all you will need and the free shuttle is a nice way to tour Kailua-Kona. We did lots of activities and lots of relaxing. The condo felt like home for the 11 nights we visited. The lush plant life and cute Gecko's really give this the tropical paradise feel that you are looking for in Hawaii. The area is quiet but only minutes from the city which is quaint and full of shops and restaurants. I will definitely return and live in my home away from home unit #196.

“Keauhou Kona Surf And Racquet Club Resort Townhouse 196” Great location! A few minutes away from the bustle of Kona, but walking distance to Keauhou Bay and a shopping centre. The complex itself is very nice, and the townhouse is clean and well-equipped. Lots of trees and foliage, and you can hear the waves from your lanai or upstairs bedroom. I recommend it, and would definitely stay here again.

“Wonderful Place” - Keauhou Kona Surf And Racquet Club Resort We LOVED the townhouse and had a wonderful stay there. Breakfast on the lanai with the surf rolling in – hard to top that. We found the house warm and inviting. We’ve already recommended the townhouse to some people going to the big island and will do so whenever anyone mentions they’re going.

Townhouse 196 was clean, comfortable and perfectly situated” - Keauhou Kona Surf And Racquet Club Resort My husband and eleven-year-old stepdaughter stayed in townhouse 196 for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year's holidays. The owner, Sandy, and her property manager, Jeri, were friendly, accessible and took care of everything. The place was clean, well-appointed and perfectly situated for all the things we wanted to do. The best snorkelling beach on the island was a five minute walk away. The pool was never crowded and we never had to wait for a tennis court. We loved having a washer/dryer because every day we'd come home covered in sand or mud from our beach and hiking adventures. The master bedroom has a spectacular view of the ocean. We even saw a humpback whale breaching. This is a much more affordable way to vacation on the Big Island than staying in a hotel. And we had a waterfront table every evening for dinner.

SPECTACULAR TOWNHOUSE” - Keauhou Kona Surf And Racquet Club Resort Townhouse 196 has been newly renovated from top to bottom. It is not very often that we have rented a place that is so completely furnished, as though I had outfitted this place myself !! Ceiling fans in every room allowed the ocean breeze to maintain a comfortable temperature. The wonderful view of the ocean from several rooms, as well as from the private ground floor patio, provided us the ideal locale. We enjoyed "fossicking" the shore for shells, as well as viewing the green turtles in the afternoons that often were resting at the water's edge. The Olympic size community swimming pool is an added bonus to this property. We were delighted to have fallen into this beautiful "find" where we stayed for ten days. The Bennetts

Comfortable townhouse, great view” - Keauhou Kona Surf And Racquet Club Resort We (a family of four) stayed in townhouse 196 in March and we loved it. It was one of the better vacations we've ever had. The unit itself was clean and comfortable, and one side of it overlooked the ocean and adjoining beach. The lanai was a great spot to hang out and take in the scenery. Although the beach was a mixture of volcanic rock and coarse sand, it was a good place for tide-pooling. At the far end of the beach is a Hawaiian archeological site that is currently being restored. A short walk in the other direction is the pool and tennis courts. The pool was usually empty (or nearly empty) and if you are patient you can find an available court. The owner, Sandy, and Jeri the caretaker are friendly, accommodating, and honest. We highly recommend this townhouse.

We stayed at this townhouse for a week and LOVED it! The location can't be beat... right on the water, and walking distance to great snorkeling. The setting is very peaceful and so close to the water you become addicted to just relaxing on the lanai, watching the turtles and playing peekaboo with the shy but harmless mongoose, and soaking up the ever-changing horizon and sunsets. The unit is comfortably and tastefully furnished. Groceries and supplies (and a decent restaurant or two) are only a couple of minutes away in a nearby shopping center, and the more bustling action and attractions of Kona are just 10 minutes up the coast. If you can fall asleep to the gentle sound of the waves crashing ashore (and who can't?), this is the place for you. Terrific owners, too... Jack & Kathy, you're the best! We hope to get back there again one day soon....
Owner response:Thanks, Loren & Jean. We'll welcome you back! The new owners are Sandy & Mohan and with remodeling and more upgrades the place is better than ever!
