A vacation of worry is not a vacation, we did not have to worry about anything! Upon arrival after a long day of travel they already had enough information about us, one being that we are vegetarian, to recommend the perfect Italian restaurant just a short walk away. Omar, Valerie, and Larry made sure that every moment of our stay was so relaxed... isn't that the point of a vacation anyway?!? We literally didn't have to concern ourselves with things to do or places to go, that had all the suggestions that we needed, every one of them being a good one. The ladies made a great breakfast every morning that included delicious fresh squeezed fruit juice. The fresh cut fruits and pan dulce made it very apparent that you were in Mexico, on vacation, ahhhhh! La Villa had a great pool and had beautiful garden areas to do some reading or just relax and soak in the sun and the beauty. We plan to go back to Zihuatanejo and when we do La Villa will be our place!!!

We recently spent 8 nights at La Villa and had an absolutely fabulous time! As soon as we walked through the door Omar, the fabulous manager, welcomed us. He took us to the open-air living room where we were taken away by the fabulous view of the bay and the wonderful ocean breeze. From this moment we knew we were in paradise! The hotel is beautifully designed and decorated with handicrafts from town but it is the staff that made our experience so memorable. The entire staff at La Villa were so friendly and knew exactly how to take care of their guests. Each morning we enjoyed a wonderful fresh breakfast while looking out over the pool and admiring the ocean views. The lush gardens around the property were immaculately cared for and made the property feel extremely private. Our days were truly relaxing, and whenever we needed suggestions for restaurants or places to visit we were well taken care of by Omar. La Ropa beach is less than a two-minute walk from the hotel and is wonderful for long walks, swimming and relaxing. The beautiful pool and garden provided a quiet, relaxing area when we wanted to get away from it all. In the evening, the gorgeous sunsets were made even more fabulous by Omar’s margaritas and wonderful conversation. Each day we spent in Zihua we fell more in love with the town and the people…just thinking about our trip brings a huge smile! We have only been home for a week and are already dreaming of when we’ll be able to go back. If you are looking for an intimate, relaxing vacation this is the place for you! La Villa is truly a hidden gem!

Sorry, this email is long over due. Just wanted to thank you for all your help in scheduling our vacation to La Villa. The accommodations and the staff were fabulous. I would say that your internet photos don't do La Villa justice. Location was perfect. Great pool. Beautiful property. Easy (level) 2-3 block walk to the best beach in the area. Convenient to downtown. Numerous activities. It has it all. Staff was always available if needed but otherwise low profile. It truly felt like someone gave us the keys to their million dollar guest home and said "go enjoy". Omar is the best. He took care of everything. Zihuatanejo is a must stay. My wife and I took a cab to Ixtapa for lunch - that was enough. Zihaut is a great area with some of the best restaurants and people we have ever experienced. La Villa and its 7-rooms which vary in size, provided a very positive stay for us. The intimacy of this newer hotel was inviting and quite a change. We were guests, not tourists, so no need was ever overlooked. It was reassuring everyday to be greeted by the staff, all long time residents of Zihuatanejo, as they ensured our stay lacked nothing. Every request to the La Villa staff whether it was extra towels, more wine, restaurant and bar suggestions, shopping tips (where to buy vanilla or coffee), outing suggestions (Los Gatas beach) were all provided with wonderful insight which resulted in pure appreciation of Zihuatanejo. The knowledge and relationship La Villa has with the community and surrounding area provided a memorable stay. Since La Villa listens to their guests, they know the guests needs and wants. This was evident on our first stay and confirmed on our last stay. Each room has its own identity which provides guests with comfort, privacy, as well as an intoxicating view, all in a safe and sound environment. I was pleasantly surprise by the location of the bathrooms which provided even more privacy. After staying in two rooms and having toured the remaining, I can say that it is obvious that the purveyor had their guest comforts in mind as they decorated.

I had the pleasure of staying at La Villa with my girlfriends. We had a such a fabulous time. The hotel was beautiful. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted with a big smile, lavender scented cold towels and a bottle of icy water. The very knowledgeable staff showed us to our room, explaining where everything was, how to work the in-room safe, what time breakfast was in the morning, etc. The staff was very approachable and Omar the Manager spoke perfect English. He even helped me with my Spanish. My room was beautiful. I woke up every morning with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The sunsets were the most beautiful I've ever seen. It was especially nice with an Omargarita in my hand. There's plenty to do in Zihuatanejo. We attended a Yogi class at Paty's, just steps away from La Villa. Very reasonable priced! Walked the beach endlessly. Enjoyed eating out at many wonderful restaurants. Had a lot of fun walking into town and poking around. A sail to Los Gatas beach and lunch. Our trip to the water spa was so much fun. I'd highly recommend it. It's also very enjoyable to just sit and read by the pool with it's lush surroundings or go have a margarita at one of the many establishments on the beach with your feet in the sand. I also have to say how safe I felt staying at La Villa. Traveling with girl friends. going to a foreign country I felt a little nervous. My worries were unfounded as soon as we walked into La Villa. I never felt nervous. I slept like a baby each night listening to the ocean breezes and the surf. I can't wait to bring my husband with me next time I visit La Villa. It's such a romantic place, I'm sure he will love it. I know I did!!

Dear Valerie and Larry, I just wanted to send a quick note letting you both know that our trip to Villa Luz was everything we hoped for and more. You were correct, the view from the window was breath taking. Every day we watched the sun rise and set and could not get over how amazing the view, the room, the hotel, etc. were. The service was perfect! Omar was fantastic and the rest of the help were so kind, accommodating, and honestly contributed to making the trip! Your bed and breakfast was exactly what we were looking for and we both agreed it was the best trip we have ever been on. We discussed returning in the future many more memories. "La Villa is the best of Zihuatanejo, on a budget that actual humans can afford -- luxury, immediate proximity to the best beach in Zihua, gracious & spacious architecture, intimate private pool, astounding gardens, friendly and relaxed staff and, perhaps best of all, the innkeepers, Valerie and Larry, who are anything but the usual B&B proprietors. As experienced, luxury-loving world travelers themselves, they know what guests are going to want, be it the best tables at the best local restaurants, the name of the bartender at Zihua's finest beach bars, insider information about the characters stolling up and down Playa La Ropa, a bottle of cold white wine by the azure-tiled pool, or just a few days of sun, solitide, and solicitude. We'd stayed for many years at the late, lamented Villa del Sol -- now The Tides -- and booked into La Villa when the new owners at The Tides jacked their prices to oil sheik levels. We were worried Zihua wouldn't be the same without the Villa del Sol experience, but thanks to La Villa, it was as good, if not better. Same beach, same sunsets, same kaleidoscope cast of unusual characters, but this time in a more relaxed and intimate hotel with all creature comforts but without the pretension of a resort that's now trying too hard. Thanks to Valerie and Larry's great contacts and advice, we now know far more about Zihua's best dining, drinking, shopping, and nightlife than we did after years of staying at the former Villa del Sol.
