The Plantation at Leesburg is an active adult (55+) community located in the heart of Florida. Convenient to major airports as well as attractions. This inland community is well protected from hurricanes and yet is only one hour from either coast.
The Plantation is continually voted one of the "Top ten places to retire" to in the United States. It is a security gated community with loads of trees and wildlife as well as beautiful biking and walking areas along with two 18 hole golf courses, pro shop and restaurant on premises, three swimming pools with hot tubs, fitness centers and tons of activities. Tennis, bocce, a ballroom, dance lessons, pickleball, is only the beginning of the long list of things to do here.
Lake County is appropriately named for all the wonderful lakes...(over 200 of them), that are teeming with fish and great for boating activities. With Disney, Universal Studios and Sea World only 45 minutes away, you have some of the world's greatest entertainment within a close drive. The area has some of the best bass fishing in the WORLD.
This 2 bedroom, 2 bath home boast one of the largest properties in The Plantation. It has a beautiful view of a golf green and the back yard opens to a large spring fed pond that is stocked with 20" bass. You could actually fish from your own patio!
It is in the highly desirable "Greentree" section, which means you are close to the main Security entrance, (quick in and out). You are also within walking distance to "The Manor", one of three activity centers at The Plantation. Included with our home is the use of our own golf cart.
The open floor plan with its large rooms and vaulted ceilings has a spacious, relaxing feel. The home is tastefully furnished and is stocked with everything you should need. The master bedroom suite has a king-size bed and large bathroom. The guest bedroom is on the other side of the house for privacy, and has a queen-size bed and a bathroom right next to it. There is both a dining room and a breakfast nook, as well as a bistro table set in the lanai. Also in the lanai you will find two sofas and a chair that all convert to beds for additional guests. The full kitchen is fully stocked, and there is also a laundry area off of the kitchen, inside the house, (not in the garage).
In short, it is one of the nicest homes in one of the nicest communities in Central Florida.
And now, "The Secret". What is the secret? Simply this- Florida is a great place to vacation ANY TIME OF THE YEAR. Many full time residents and many "Savvy" vacationers actually prefer the "off season". Why? Because the fall and spring months, and even the summer months have lower rental fees, and much less traffic, both on the roads AND on the golf courses. Florida is just as nice and much less crowded, and less expensive during those "off season" months...consider the "off season", you'll love it!

The Plantation is a great community, with 2 nice golf courses, just the right size. As homeowners, we OWN the whole place, not a developer. It is solid fiscally, and the neighbors and activities are the best.

We enjoy the 3 activity centers, all of the sports and activities The Plantation offers. This property comes with use of our golf cart, and we enjoy one of the largest properties in the neighborhood, including the spring fed pond teeming with fish and wildlife right in our own back yard.
