We had a wonderful trip. Casa Bella was great. Anna and Ivan the staff were wonderful! Anna made dinner for us one night and we truly enjoyed it! They were so nice and accommodating. We also appreciated Rhet (the manager) stopping by the first day to introduce himself and give us some helpful pointers. It's great to have met the contact just in case we did need anything. The casita and house were perfect for the number of people we had and we enjoyed cooling off in the pool each day. We also enjoyed being on the lagoon and having access to snorkeling right from our back door. We loved the roof top patio with the bean bags and furniture, they were very nice. Having the golf cart and bikes were a big plus as well. It was so nice to take the cart to the beach instead of our cars. Our kids enjoyed touring around Akumal on the bikes. Overall our stay was great and the house worked well for our party.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Casa Bella is everything the website and photos says it is. The location is beautiful, the house had everything we needed. The maid/gardener/management staff were very helpful. We accidentally locked ourselves out of the house, and within 1/2 hour the management company responded and we were back in. I would highly recommend Casa Bella for a beautiful vacation spot, totally relaxing, and exceptional home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We booked Casa Bella for our family to celebrate our 50th Wedding anniversary. The house was very comfortable for eight adults and five children. The house was well equipped and had wireless internet set up conveniently in a room beside the master bedroom. Our kids and grandkids came from Canada and Washington State so everyone enjoyed the hot weather and swimming in the was very easy to go snorkelling in front of the house or at several nearby beaches. Mayan ruins are worth a visit. There are several pleasant restaurants within easy walking distance. Ana and Ivan were very efficient helpers. Ana cooked an excellent meal for all thirteen of us. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time at Casa Bella.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

"This was my first, but certainly not my last VRBO vacation rental. I made the reservations with trepidation: What is the house really like? is this where I wish to stay? what is renting a car in Mexico like? and all those questions most would have. The house is exactly as described - 30 yards from the water with a cement path to the waters edge. The entry into the lagoon here can be a little tricky if the water is rough, but the reef at the opening helps protect the area. Do make sure to take advantage of the free entrance into the park - which is just across the street - the lagoon is beautiful and you can snorkel the entire area. We saw numerous small, medium and large fish, sea turtles and sting rays. Lots of coral. On calmer days, you can snorkel out to the deep reefs with ease. Half moon bay is a beautiful beach, but the entry into the water is difficult. It is not sand but rock and coral. sea urchins right up to shore in places! Still a unique experience (I recommend entry and exit near the fishing boat tie ups as the bottom is sand there). Akumal bay is the best! Tons of sea turtles, large fish, and all the reef life one would imagine. The house is a two story home, with a casita. The casita has two large bedrooms and its own bath and kitchen. The main home has three large bedrooms, as well as one small single bedroom not advertised (I think it is thought of as a nursery room as it is off the main bedroom and lacks some privacy for both). My only complaint is that with a house full of guests, the kitchen is a little small. But it worked! Anna the house keeper and Ivan the grounds keeper did a good job of trying to keep up with our mess. (suggested tip was $1-2US$/per person/day for housekeeper and half that for the grounds keeper) Anna will wash clothing if asked, a small fee of 50 pesos a load should cover costs. Anna nor Ivan speak any English, the manager can interpret via phone if needed. The pool is small, more of a place to soak and relax rather then swim. I plan to visit again in a couple of years for another big family trip - I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Akumal direct for a great vacation home and experience!!"Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

Town and the restaurants are a short drive - all the restaurants were good - the pasta bar on Sunday night was fantastic. Avoid groceries in Akumal, fruit stand and corner stores in the real town are much cheaper, and the pizza place there had great pizza! Big shopping was done in Playa - much cheaper. I plan to visit again in a couple of years for another big family trip - I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Akumaldirect for a great vacation home and experience!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
