The home features two large master suites with king beds and private baths, two separate living areas with fireplaces, a ping-pong table in the walk out basement and an outdoor hot tub on the new wrap around deck.
Custom kitchen with beautiful maple cabinets and a Jenn Aire range with glass cook tops and indoor grill. The interior features new carpet, hardwood floors, slate tile entries, soaring open beam ceilings and two story walls of windows.

Enjoy the mowed walking paths that lead you down to picturesque Mirror Lake, a man made lake on five acres that borders national forest where you can enjoy swimming, fishing, canoing and paddle boating. Relax under the custom log pavilion with four unique wood carvings and picnic table. We provide the canoes, a paddle boat, life jackets and canoe paddles. The lake is stocked each year with bass so bring your fishing pole!
Canaan Valley is located in Tucker County WV; there is only one traffic light in the whole county and it is 30 miles from the valley! Peaceful starry nights await you; there is virtually no light pollution in the valley. You are almost guaranteed to see a shooting star on a clear night! If you are looking for a place to escape to that offers peace and quiet then this is the place for you! There is as much or as little to do here as you choose.
Great year round location! Winter, spring, summer and fall are all great times to visit Canaan Valley. Each season holds its own special beauty.
Canaan Valley winters average over 150 inches of snow and the area offers some of the best skiing in the Mid-Atlantic. Ask about the Ski the Valley lift ticket; one low cost ticket that gets you on both downhill ski resorts, Canaan Valley and Timberline. Timberline Resort offers 1000 ft of vertical with a top elevation of 4263. Great skiing and snow tubing is also found at Canaan Valley Resort. Both resorts have a wide variety of trails for all skill levels. There are endless trails for Nordic and back country skiing as well. Whitegrass Nordic Center is one of the premier Nordic skiing destinations on the east coast. The state parks, Wildlife Refuge and National Forest have miles and miles of trails that can be skied as well. Blackwater Falls State Park has a sledding hill with a tow rope that operates on the weekends. During the week you have to hike to slide.
Escape from the summer heat to this high mountain valley which sits at 3200 ft elevation. Enjoy cool summers; Canaan Valley has an average summer temperature of 75 degrees. The surrounding mountains rise another 1000 + feet and the high point in the state is nearby at Spruce Knob with an elevation of 4863 ft. Outdoor activities this time of year include golf, tennis, swimming, hiking, biking, horseback riding, trout fishing, wildlife watching, rock climbing, river rafting, caving, canoing, geocashing and much more! Blackwater Falls State Park has some of the most photographed scenery in the state. Blackwater Falls and the Blackwater Canyon are a must see any time of year.
Fall is an incredible time to be in the valley. Peak week is usually the first week in October. Fall festivals are found in the nearby towns of Davis and Elkins. Davis has the Leaf Peepers festival at the end of September and Elkins has the Mountain State Forest Festival the first week of October. There are several nostalgic train rides out of nearby Elkins and Cass that take you on a tour through the mountains with incredible views.
Spring brings new birth to the mountains. Enjoy wildlife watching and the spring wild flowers. Mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding and river rafting are popular activities this time of year. Check with the area resorts for a schedule of activities.
Some points of interest in the area other than the ski resorts and state parks are the Dolly Sods Wilderness area, Seneca Rocks and Spruce Knob National Recreation areas, the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge and the almost one million acre Monongahela National Forest. Our cabin offers easy year round access off of Route 32. We are centrally located in Canaan Valley only minutes from the ski resorts, state parks and all area attractions.
PLEASE NO SMOKING and NO PETS! Anyone found with a pet will be evicted with loss of all rental monies and security deposit. The house requires a $500 refundable security deposit that is returned within 30 days of check out less any amount held for abuse or neglect.
