Why the Owner Chose Mountain Village

Telluride is uniquely beautiful and we fell in love with it the first time we came in 1989. We saw the rest but decided to build this house at the best ski resort. There is rarely a lift line, the people are friendly, and the restaurants are exceptional. It is a small ski town with big city restaurants and shopping.

The Unique Benefits at this House

In the summer you can walk onto the golf coarse, hole #3 is right outside our backyard. In the winter we are 75 yards from Galloping Goose ski run. There is an alpine ski trail that is groomed that takes you to the ski run to ski for the day or you can snow shoe up the ski run.

Owner's Map of Mountain Village

The house was built by us with entertaining in mind. We wanted a place where friends and family could gather.

I've had the privilege of staying in this gorgeous house in both the fall and winter. I love this place! The house is the perfect spot for hanging out and recharging after all the outdoor fun. There is just something so peaceful and relaxing about this place. The hiking is great, just walk out the door and you're close to trail heads. The skiing is phenomenal in Telluride and again, just outside the back door. This place will spoil you for anywhere else. The kitchen and dining area are both really nice if you want to stay in and eat. But if you want to head out on the town to find one of the many great restaurants, you don't have to drive to get there! It was so nice not having to worry about who was driving home after a night on the town! Transportation was just a phone call away for a ride to the gondola and then into town. A nice market, restaurants and shops are close by in Mountain Village as well. We used a shuttle from the airport to the house and never needed a car once we arrived. The house itself was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, it felt luxurious to stay here. The photos do a good job of showing the house, it's beautiful. The view is nothing short of spectacular. I want to go back!

Telluride is one of my favorite places on earth and the accommodations at this beautiful home make the stay here complete. This home is luxurious and comfortable. It has something for everyone, no matter the season. It is ski-in / ski-out, close to hiking trails, and offers breathtaking views. One of my favorite memories of this home is getting up early in the morning before anyone else and relaxing in the sitting area with a fresh cup of coffee, looking out at some of the most fabulous mountains I have seen. Life is hectic and complicated and this retreat from the world is just what is needed to rejuvenate anyone. It has all the amenities you would ever need and then some. I just can’t say enough about this place and I am looking forward to the next opportunity I get to visit.

Where to start with such an awesome property?! I have had the fortune of staying at this property over the years and each time I love it more. If activity is your thing, there is not shortage of things to do every season of the year: The skiing is epic for all levels of skiers (I hesitate to write this that everyone will find out about this special treasure of a place!), cross country skiing and snow shoeing, hiking, biking, fishing, wildlife watching, golfing, etc, etc. Telluride is also a gem of a destination for the entertainment lover as well with music festivals throughout the year as well as an array of film, yoga and food festivals. This property is gem of a location for whatever your heart desires whether you're active, love to take in all that nature offers, listen to live music, or just hang out and escape from your day to day life! The description and photos are VERY accurate, but really does no justice to the beauty and peace one will experience on their mountain escape!

Perfect Ski Vacation for Family and Friends

Guest: Laura (Cary, NC)
Date of Stay: 02/12/11 Review Submitted: 01/05/12

We traveled with another family for a fabulous week of skiing. It is a large private home and even with a group of 10 we never felt crowded. Not to mention, the second master suit gave each family a quiet retreat, while the six teenagers had plenty of space and activities (billiards, hot tub, movies etc). You can't beat the ski-in/ski-out set up. The easy access to the lifts and the village was wonderful. Our children were old enough to ski on their own but it was great to meet back at the house for lunch or late in the day. It also gave us the option of skiing on our own timetable -- sleep in or finish early, the house was so accessible it gave us every option. The ski resort is beautifully maintained and well patrolled. A huge advantage if you are skiing as a family. This house feels like a home: the gourmet kitchen rivals my own, the beds and linens are lovely and you feel comfortable to curl up with a good book on the sofa (although I never wanted to miss apres ski in the hot tub out back.) The house is uniquely organized around the dining room table. It begs family and friends to have seat and enjoy the company and the view -- all night long. Telluride immediately became our favorite ski resort. We'll definitely come back to this mountain and this house. Enjoy!

Fantastic home!

I've had the luxury of staying at this beautiful home in both the winter and the summer and have enjoyed all seasons immensely! The home is a very comfortable "home away from home." Well appointed bedrooms and living areas with fabulous views from the "great room." The location is terrific, on a quiet street yet accessible to all via "dial-a-ride" service. The photos represent the property very well and some of the views must be seen to be believed! The property is very clean and well maintained and the owner was very responsive and helpful in answering our questions about the home. I think one of my favorite parts (beyond the beauty of the home) is the car stayed parked in the driveway the entire length of my trips there! Between "dial-a-ride" and the gondola, we never needed to drive. I attended the "yoga festival" last summer and was easily able to make the class times and special events without any problem. I traveled with a group of friends and we were all able to come and go as we pleased without relying on anyone driving....we met in Mountain Village for dinner or took the gondola into town to watch soccer, all very easily and effortlessly! Equally important, in the winter, you don't have to hassle with needing chains or snowtires to get around. All in all, a fabulous, stunning vacation home; I can't wait to go back! Highly recommended, if you have a chance to travel to Telluride, this is the home to rent!

Fantastic

The description is accurate but doesn't do justice to the beauty of this house and its setting. My family and I spent an unforgettable 5 days there and we had 3 small children, but you don't need little kids to appreciate this home. It's both sophisticated and warm, both spacious and comfortable, with a neighborhood that matches the elegance of the property. I would go back in a heartbeat, and I don't even ski. I can't imagine this house disappointing anyone, winter or summer.

Beautiful home - first class all the way!

Date of Stay: 12/21/09 Review Submitted: 05/13/10

I've stayed here 4 times: 2 weeks in the summer and for 2 weeks in the winter, and definitely will return. The home is very spacious and is centered around a large center room with stone floors and a huge cathedral ceiling, with a chandelier that hangs down from a beam two stories over your head. This "Great Room" has a huge walnut dining table that's great for entertaining guests - you want to stay in. We had many a night where we made a banquet instead of going out to eat (The grocery store in Mountain Village is 4 minutes away by car, and has everything). The kitchen is right next to the Great Room, separated by a large eat-in counter space - great for feeding the kids before a day skiing or hiking. The kitchen is big, and has its own pine kitchen table that seats six, overlooking the golf course. This place is designed for bringing friends and family, with plenty of bedrooms and even a set of bunk beds for the kids. Also in the Great Room (but seeming to be set aside on its own) is a nook with couches in front of huge glass windows with a view of the Telluride mountain range, perfect for reading or relaxing. Heated floors throughout, the home is warm in winter. The basement has a game room with a pool table for adult or kid fun. Driving is easy, but we use the free shuttles in Mountain Village to go out and relax at a restaurant or a bar, and since a ski lift connects the town of Mountain Village and the old town of Telluride year 'round, getting around (especially if you bring the gang) is easy. We like to walk Telluride and window shop or find a great restaurant. If you are a hiker, the summertime is the time to go - we hiked every day - fantastic high alpine hikes to a lake or an abandoned mine one day and the next day, hikes though pine forests and shady aspens. And the house is right on a great golf course. If you love golf, this is a great place to go in summer. Ski-in, ski-out from a nearby run that takes you right down to the lifts in Mountain Village, which is built around the ski slopes. If you are teaching your children or want to start easy, all the easier slopes are right in Mountain Village - but you will want to ski Telluride's tough steep black diamonds on the old Telluride side, and enjoy the challenging long blue runs - simply world class skiing. Then after skiing, come back to this wonderful house, pour a glass of Cabernet and relax in the hot tub, and look at the vast canopy of stars over your head. You can't beat it.
