Owls Head features attractive and historical Crescent Beach (where there was once an inn), the renowned Transportation Museum, Knox County Airport, and the beautiful lighthouse. Rockland offers all the amenities of a small city: hospital, restaurants, shopping (food, antiques), museums (Farnsworth) and art galleries, two movie theatres, recreational, tourist and harbor activities.
If this wasn't enough, scenic Camden is 15 minutes away. Ferries leave from Rockland for the islands of North Haven and Vinalhaven. It is no wonder that this area is called "The Jewel of the Maine Coast".

Wow. This vacation house is a dream. The beach is perfectly kid-friendly because the waves are not rough at all, and it is perfect for building sand castles, searching for sea glass and shells, and lounging on the beach. The weather is perfect-always a breeze but very nice beach weather. The house was perfect on the rare occasion that it rained and all accomodations were perfect. The yard is also perfect for kids when the beach is at high tide and the gardens are beautiful. Rockland and Camden are also fun towns to visit with lots of cute shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this house.

Wow, this house has far exceeded my expectations. I was thinking that this place would be just an ordinary home that would be on a beach. I visited during the month of July and the weather was a little chilly, but a great break from the hot weather back at home. It is a great quiet, friendly and relaxing environment perfect for families and couples. Pets are allowed, which is a plus. The beach is unusual compared to any other beach. Sea glass is also a fun thing to collect with the kids. The pictures do not accurately represent the outdoors of this house, it is defeniatly not so green and the water is not crystal clear. The property was clean and tidy, and felt very homely. Visiting the Owls Head Light House, eating at the General Store, kayaking to the island at low tide, and taking a realaxing bike ride is perfect to do. The owner is very helpful. I highly recommend visiting Owls Head and staying at this house.
