Nestled into the peace & serenity of the Texas Hill Country, you’ll find this Canyon Lake get-away affords you views of the lake from it’s balcony, family room with all leather furniture, MBR, kitchen and dining room. It’s just a short 100 yard distance to a boat ramp (#7) for those with water toys or roaming the shoreline for fishing, lazily skipping rocks or swimming, taking in the sun and watching the boaters, skiers, silent sailboats, jet skiers or just go wading and picnic by the shore.

Located out on one of the South peninsula points near the lakes’ only Lodge, this 4 bedroom (2-King Size, 1-Queen & 2-Single Size beds), 2 bath home also has a large family room adjoined to the dining room, kitchen and pantry. Considered 2nd row to ‘Lake-Front,’ it’s an easy walk to the water front, which the Army Corp of Engineers owns & controls, so you have total rights and access to enjoy at your leisure. You’ll be able to feel your blood pressure drop with the decompression this home and experience allows.

With plenty of parking in front and back for boats & vehicles, there are chairs & table on the balcony; rocking chairs on the front porch to watch the local deer walk by and/or feed them if you so desire or share a glass of wine. We have frequently had over 20 deer at one time, with mixtures from 10 point bucks to ‘Bambi’s,’ some of which you can feed by hand. The yard is flat so you can throw a football, a Frisbee or pitch horseshoes, as you see other boaters pass by, still dripping water fresh off the lake while waiving as they go home for the evening.

The home comes with ceiling fans in all four bedrooms and the family room; a full, wide kitchen with double-wide fridge, dishwasher, stove and microwave & toaster, charcoal BBQ pit on the balcony, flat screen Plasma TV for movies (tapes or DVD’s); and there’s a high-speed broadband internet connection for those who want to get away, yet still be able to stay connected; a washer & dryer for towels and cloths for your convenience. The bedrooms & family room floors are carpeted, the kitchen/dining, bath and hall-way are tile. Intentionally, there is no local phone line or local TV to ‘perfect’ the get-away.

Since the adjacent empty lot belongs with the house, there is a space cleared for a camp fire for a relaxing impromptu evening of marshmallows and stories while the moon rises and stars shoot across the sky. The house is air conditioned and less than five (5) years old with plenty of closet space.

Located only 20 minutes from the San Antonio (Bexar) / Comal County line, this home is convenient to grocery stores to stock your pantry shelves. Anchor’s Landing restaurant, Startz Café, McDonalds, local BBQ, Big Country Pizza and a DQ serve those who don’t feel like cooking.

For those who’d like to trek or journey a little further, there are a several area wineries, tubing or rafting on the Guadalupe River, golf, historic Gruene Texas & Dance Hall & restaurants (to include Jerry Jeff Walker or Willey Nelson from time to time), Natural Bridge Caverns, New Braunfels and it’s famous German food, Wimberley, Fredricksberg and the San Marcos Outlet Stores.

Why the Owner Chose Canyon Lake

My husband and I longed for a vacation home near Canyon Lake Texas,for over twenty years we enjoyed visiting and lodging near the lake with our children. We enjoyed sailing, skiing,swimming and fishing, so it was natural to follow with a home that we could stay in and enjoy the water as often as possible,to take in the peace and quiet surrounding the beautiful water. We yearned for a place to stay and someday even retire to. Well we reached our goal in 2005 and we decided to share our home as a vacation rental for other families wanting to stay near Canyon Lake. In 2008 my dear husband passed away suddenly. This past year has brought about many changes in our lives; however, one thing we know for sure, that is my family and I want to continue to make our home available for you to enjoy.

The Unique Benefits at this House

There are many unique benefits to enjoy: the view, the water, the deer...the serenity, the stars at night. Rocking chairs on the front porch,and the view from the upstairs deck.

My family and I love the water, sailing, skiing, swimming and fishing. We enjoy the peace and serenity surrounding Canyon Lake.
I live and work in San Antonio about an hour south of the lake, My children are now grown but still enjoy visiting the lake as often as possible.

    • My sisters family and my family stayed at this wonderful "home-away-from-home" this past weekend on into Tuesday. The ages of our family members ranged from a 2 year old, teenagers and our 78 year old mother. ALL of us had a GREAT TIME and we are already making plans to return next year. The home is laid out in a great way that accommodated everyone, giving us all plenty of room. The home is welcoming and CLEAN!! We also enjoyed taking time to relax and enjoy the deer that were in the yard. Most of all we enjoyed working with the owners of the property. They are the BEST! If you and your family are planning a trip to Canyon Lake, you can't go wrong staying here.

    • We had a great time at Canyon lake last weekend, the vacation home is very clean and neat, my kids fall in love with their kids room, tons of videos to choose from. The owner of the house provided us with all the convenience you can think of, fresh towels, all the kitchen supplies, books, even deer corns, too many to list. One night we had around 20 deers stop by, kids feed them with hands. We had a very relaxing experience, I would defniately recommend this place to my friends and co-workers.
