Location: Colonia Guadalupe, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Central Mexico, Mexico (Within Two Hours of 3 Major Airports, 15 Min. Walk to Centro)

When you arrive at our charming Casa de la Luna Sonriente you will first notice the nice entry way with a unique front door which allows the top windows to swing open to catch the breeze allowing you to immerse yourself in the culture of this intriguing town. To the sides of the entry way you have the living room and dining/kitchen areas both with rustic exposed beam ceilings and either wrought iron chandeliers or Mexican style metal lighting fixtures.

The living room has a brand new red plush, sink in and relax, sofa and loveseat. Other seating includes a lovely Mexican style carved bench coverd with a plump cushion and decorative pillows. There is a TV with cable, combination tv/vcr, ipod docking station with speakers along with several reference books about Mexico and San Miguel. The half bath is just off the living room. The dining area has a glass dining table that seats four with a charming tiled complete kitchen behind. The living room has a gas fireplace and we hope to add logs to the kitchen one soon. There is a glassed in pass through (breezeway) that allows light to flood in from the roof through all three floors.

Going up the spiral staircase to the second floor you will find a small den area between the two bedrooms. A nice window with a small balcony gives the room character and more light. Curl up in the leather Equipale sofa to read a book. On one side is the Master bedroom with a queen bed looking up to a boveda ceiling with a ceiling fan. The room also includes another window with a small balcony and a gas fireplace.There is a color cable TV and a DVD player. Adjoining the Master bedroom is a small walk in closet that leads to the vivid blue tiled bathroom with skylights. This bathroom has a comfortable tub and shower with a window to access the breezeway. On the other side is another bedroom, also with a boveda ceiling and ceiling fan. There is a small TV with cable provided. There are two twins beds (that could be pushed together to make a queen) and a smaller full bath with a shower only.

Up the stairwell to the top floor and you will see why this house is the Gem of Guadalupe. Enjoy the covered patio with views of the Parroquia and San Miguel in all of its glory. There is a small refridgerator/freezer provided to chill your wine and drinks. Also a propane tank gas grill can be used to prepare a nice rooftop dinner. Relax and watch the sun set over the mountains with the churches and town lights twinkling below.

The entire house has beautifully tiled counter tops and floors. All bedding, towels, kitchen utensils, pots and pans are provided. Twice a week maid service is also provided. On the top floor just around the corner are the covered washer and dryer for your laundry needs. We have Vonage phone service which allows free calls to the USA, Canada, Puerto Rico (both cell and land lines) and six European Countres (LAND LINES ONLY). We have wireless service for our laptop users. We have tried to make this house as livable as possible although we will be continually making upgrades. The location is in Guadalupe; a flat 12-15 minute walk to the Centro. Also 5 minutes to the artisans walk and 6-7 minutes to the Fabrica Aurora There is a tienda on the next block for any late night munchies or needed supplies. Also there is a food stand just across from the front door. Several smaller restaurants and a good local pizza joint are nearby. As always most places are reachable by a 25 peso cab ride.

  • This was a beautiful place to stay! I have spent time in San Miguel five different times, and this house was my favorite place to stay by far. The roof top patio was an amazing place to be every morning with coffee and a book and every night with a glass of wine and great conversation with the two women who travelled with me. We all felt very comfortable in such a beautiful and clean home with all the extra perks like wi-fi and the vonage phone and a washer and dryer. Thanks Lisa!

  • A girlfriend and I spent the month of April '09 in San Miguel de Allende. Our stay was very enjoyable, due in no small part to the recommendations and assistance of Lisa, the owner of Casa de la Luna Soriente. The casa is lovely and exceeded our expectations. We particularly appreciated the Vonage wifi and toll free long distance to the States. We felt very safe in the neighborhood and appreciated the friendliness of our neighbors and the fact that we were in a real "Mexican" part of town. A tienda is directly across the street for snacks and supplies and don't miss the fresh squeezed orange juice. The jardin (main city square)is a 20 or so minute walk....enough to give us a little exercise to work off all the good food. We throughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Casa de la Luna Soriente.

  • My wife and I stayed at the Casa de Luna for the full month of March 09 and truly enjoyed the house : with its boveda ceilings and tiled kitchen and floors, it has a mexican feel. The center of SMA is a pleasant 10-12 minute walk and allows one to explore many of the streets leading to the center ofSMA. The covered patio on t he 3rd floor is a plus and well worth the most reasonable rental rate. The pigeons are a bit of a nuisance but the twice wekly maid service keeps the house impeccably clean. I have recommended to my friends and will likely return in the near future - make sure to reserve early

  • We spent 2 weeks in this lovely, instantly comfortable home. We had everything we needed--wireless internet, local phone, very comfortable beds, great bathroom upstairs and down and a beautiful terrace for entertaining friends (and hanging our laundry!). The neighbors were friendly--at the little tiendita on the corner and the lunch cafe across the street. The location made it easy to buy groceries nearby and walk to anywhere in the city. We'd return in a minute!

  • What a large, yet cozy, home. My husband and I spent about 10 days here. It has everything one could ask for. And the walk to the main plaza (or do they call it "el zocalo" here?) was an easy one. San Miguel is THE place for people watching!! Great stay!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this marvelous 3 level house! Everything I needed, including Verizon service, was there. It was "homey" and relaxing. Comfortable beds and a strong shower were a plus. The house was just up the hill from the noisier center and made for good exploring of the local neighborhoods. I felt safe night and day. The price was the best for alot of space and a great view from the rooftop!! Go go go:)))

    Actually it is not up the hill, we are north of the jardin and east of the jardin is up the hill. There is a slight incline though. (owners)

  • This is a beautiful house. My friends and I shared the house and had a great time. I love San Miguel de Allende! The center of town is not far and the place is beautiful. I would certainly stay again!
