The house is well equipped and very comfortable. Its location is just about perfect. Linda is an extremely helpul and responsive owner/ agent. We did have problems with some of the faucets in two of the bathrooms - but these were dealt with promptly. Linda is clearly in the process of progressively modernising and generally improving the property (routine maintenance is always tricky with a house like this - which ,as you will see from the calendar, is occupied for mostt of the year ). In a previous review, there was a criticism about the beds not being very comfortable - you may be relieved to know that Linda has put that right, all of the beds are now perfect. Before we arrived we were just a little concerned regarding the proximity of the Sullivan's Island Club, over the road, and the possibility of being disturbed by late night noise. - In fact, during the three weeks we were there, there was no noise at all - and apart from a couple of weddings, the place appeared to be almost deserted. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to friends and relatives and, if we were visiting Sullivan's Island again, we would look forward to staying at this house again. We enjoyed our stay at the beach house. It was comfortable for our family of 10. It was spacious and well maintained. The pool was cool and inviting. The house met all of our needs from playing basketball in the driveway, to sitting on the screened porch, walking across the street to the beach and relaxing in the living room. The garage housed 2 of our 5 vehicles. Plenty of room in the driveway for the rest. We walked to eat at the local businesses and only left the house to go to Mount Pleasant for the Cooper River Bridge Run. I would love to bring our family back to Sullivan's Island again.

This house is in a really geat location. This was my first time staying in a vacation home instead of a hotel so it was a little different. If you are looking for somewhere spacious to host a group of 5 or more- this is definitely a great house to do so. The only thing that my group could have used more of were tv's.

Property was clean upon arrival and the location and size of the house was just as described. The property owner was very helpful with some minor problems we had with the Linen service. I was NOT impressed with the overall condition of the property. I own a rental property (condo) in Myrtle Beach and I perform, or pay to have, all the maintenance done on my own property. This property appears to have had very little updating or even basic upkeep since the early eighties. The house is very "dated" inside and needs almost everything redone, from wall /ceiling repair and painting, to a new kitchen, and carpeting. The pool is suffering as well and needs tiles and coping repaired/replaced and the hot tub may have last worked during the last millenium. I realize in this world you usually only get what you pay for but I was able to visit other houses members of our Wedding group had rented, and I was much more impressed with their properties. I would only recommend this particular property to someone who is on a very strict budget or has much lower standards than myself.
Owner response:Admittedly no property is perfect for each and every guest. If you're looking for granite countertops, new cabinets and updated bathrooms, then this house is not for you. However, this house is fabulous in its own right and has had many upgrades within the past year! It has new siding, new windows, a new kitchen floor and appliances, new fans, new bedding, and new living room furniture with a new flat panel TV. The carpet was cleaned this month and is very good condition. Though not a perfect house, the house is extremely clean and we strive to ensure that all maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner, and that each and every guest has a pleasant stay. The majority of our summer guests are returning guests, who have been staying with us for the past two to three years. Our guests love Sullivan's Island and the location of the house to the beach is minimal and is in walking distance to local eateries. Additionally, the layout of the house is perfect for hosting large families and friends comfortably. The wonderful decks with new screens and fresh paint provide a great space to enjoy a meal or kick back with a book and the clear blue pool is perfect for children and swimming laps. Though the pool does have a spa feature, we have disabled this feature and do not advertise that we have this feature, for the upkeep of it does not warrant it being turned on. The management team of this property is both responsive and committed to providing excellent customer service to all of our guests. If you're planning a beach vacation in the Charleston area this house should definitely be on your short list of where to stay! We hope future guests will read other reviews of this property and realize this house is a true gem on Sullivan's Island. We look forward to booking your reservation today!

My girlfriends and I rented this house for the 2011 Cooper River Bridge Run weekend, first weekend in April. The layout of the house was fabulous for hanging out - it was a bit cool for using the screened in porch and the pool - but the decks in the sun could not have been better. The spiral staircase to the upstairs bedroom made me feel like a princess. It is well located to get to the beach (one block away), and easy to get to the restaurants on Sullivan's Island. It is also easy to get to the businesses in Mt. Pleasant and a quick trip to Charleston, though a car is needed for both. The house was immaculate and kept up. There was plenty of hot water for showers. Do note that you will need to either bring your own linens or rent. We used the linen service recommended and they were fantastic. Linda handled the rental arrangements and was so responsive and nice - she fielded all of my questions with a smile in her voice. We would certainly recommend this house to friends and family, and should we come back to the area, will look here first for availability.

Great location, modern funiture and kitchen, unbelievable view from 3rd floor deck (not pictured). It's about 100 yards to the beach, but you're on the tip of the peninsula, giving one the unusual ability to see the sunset from the beach on the east coast! 100% pleased with my stay.

I took all the women in my family to this beautiful beach house for a long weekend. We had a blast and loved the house. It is very spacious and charming. The location is great and it's just a very short walk from the ocean. We are already talking about renting the place again soon! Thanks Linda!
Owner response:I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. The location is perfect for walking to the beach, the lighthouse and the area restuarants and shops.

I hope word does not get out about this place! The house and location are fantastic. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. You will be pleasantly surprised by the size and comforts of the house. We plan to make this a regular vacation spot for the future. We would definitely recommend this property.
Owner response:We are so happy you enjoyed your stay! The location is perfect, for you can easily walk to the shops and restaurants, as well as the beach and lighthouse. We look forward to booking your next reservation!

We had a wonderful trip, great location, great pool. Just wish we could have stayed longer.
Owner response:The house is across the street from the beach, and there is nothing better than a refreshing pool after a day at the beach! The house offers views of the ocean from the sundeck, and the large screened porches offer pleasant breezes from the ocean.

We spent a week in October 09 in this lovely, spacious home. Just a hop, skip and jump from a gorgeous beach. Our grandchildren, four of them, loved this house. Our daughter got to use the "penthouse bedroom" since we were celebrating her 40th birthday. We made wonderful memories in this home, shared so many laughs, played games, cooked together...unforgettable.
Owner response:The third floor master-suite offers beautiful views of the ocean. The suite has a separate sitting room, dressing room, and bathroom.

Overall, the location of the home was very convenient to all the attractions Charleston has to offer. The layout of the home is very nice-although the bedrooms could use some box springs (mattress alone is only good for an overnight stay, not so good for a weeks stay), the furniture could use a good cleaning or re-upholstering, the refrigerator did not seem to cool, the freezer froze, but we could not get the fridge to cool down. Outside maintenance is required (screens, pressure wash of furniture and floors (extremely dirty) - furniture is not sturdy (nuts/bolts missing on table), and there is only enough seating for 6 on the screen porch, and if you sat on the floor, well.... The pool was very nice although with the abundance of trees and shrubs it collects a lot of debris and was only vacuumed once during our stay - the filter didn't seem to run at all. This home has potential to be well worth the money spent, but needs an abundance of TLC to be an excellent vacation spot.
Owner response:I am very sorry to hear that this guest's overall experience was not a pleasant experience. I take a lot of pride in this property, and want to ensure that all of our guests are happy and that they will return again. We have already schedule a maintenance crew and cleaning company to address all of the issues noted. We appreciate the feedback and encourage all of our guests to notify me immediately for any concerns that they have with the house. This review took me by complete surprise as we have had great reviews this summer and several of our guests have already booked to return again next summer. This is a wonderful property, with a large blue pool, two decks offering lots of sun and shade, three outdoor tables, lounge chairs by the pool, and an easy walk to the beach -across the street. The location is perfect for a visit to Charleston or to enjoy several of the eating establishments on Sullivan's Island!

This was our 4th year at this particular house and our 15th year vacationing here - we love it! If you cross the street there is a small sidewalk between the two houses that will take you to the park and tennis courts. Love the house, the pool, the location and the price!

I can not say enough great things about this wonderful beach house or Sullivan's Island. The house was spacious, with huge master suite on the top floor, 3 bedrooms on the main floor and a bedroom in the basement, a huge porch, and room to spread out. The air conditioning was wonderful; the pool was big, cool and private. The beach was a short walk across the street in a neighborhood of beautiful homes. The delightful Sullivans Island restaurants were less than a mile a way. This house and Sullivans Island was truly a Southern Living paradise, and I can't wait to go back again.

This wa a great place for a family vacation. Pool is beautful and ocean is very close. Street is quiet and bike riding is fun. There are little shops that are close enough to enjoy a bike ride to. If weather does not cooperate (which for us was not the case) a trip in to Charleston is a good option. Food shopping is also convenient and fish supply is plentiful and fresh at local fish markets. Pace is slow and relaxing.

What a wonderful vacation we had at 1740 Atlantic Avenue! Our family has vacationed at many beaches in SC and Georgia through the years, but we feel strongly that we'll return to the Rosen Beach House next year. The home is a wonderful balance of comfort and luxury. The configuration of bedrooms is perfect for our family. The kitchen/den are was great for eating and relaxing. The proximity to the beach is perfect, and we loved cooling off in the pool. This family friendly area of this Island had everything we needed. Sullivan's and the Green Heron were great; for barbeque Home Team was perfect. We consur that Poe's burgers are addictive, and if you want take-out try Gillseppi's. Many Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us! (This comment was copied from our house guestbook)

This was our second year at this wonderful beach home and we hope to keep the tradition going! The location is perfect, close to the beach and within a bike ride to the beautiful Stella Maris Church and historic Fort Moultrie! It is also very easy to get to Mount Peasant for groceries and to head into Charleston for a day. The spacious layout of the home is perfect for our family. The big screened in porch allows for dining outside and enjoying each other's company in the evening while listening to the frogs and sounds of the island. The upper deck is very peaceful and a great place to relax. The pool is a huge bonus. We didn't expect much but we were pleasantly surprised on our first visit how big and how clean it was. I always tell people this home is like taking our quiet neighborhood here in Indiana and placing directly next to the beach! I highly recommend this home for a very relaxing vacation.

A truly wonderful family weekend! We've been spending time with a family member on this island for almost 30+ years;with their daughter's wedding and the size of my family it was too much. This provided everything we needed for the 6 adults and 6 children who attended that wonderful event - close to family, quiet, spacious, close to the beach - it was hard to leave after such a wonderful visit. The house was amazing, and everyone have space was almost miraculous! We are already trying to come back as a family for a week next time. We hope everyone enjoys their stay as much as we did!

My family and I found this house through the internet. We were not familiar with the area at all, so we really took a chance. It turned out to be one of the best vacations we have ever had. Sullivan's Island is the perfect vacation spot: beautiful, tranquil and close to Charleston proper. The house is perfect for everyone: nicely kept bedrooms and bathrooms, a great pool and a great porch. We went to Charleston every day (it is only about 15 minutes away) and we went to the beach and the Farmer's Market near by. We also had a perfect view of the Fourth of July fireworks from our house. If you are looking for a place to spend time with friends and/or family, hang out by the pool and read and play games, this is the perfect spot. I highly recommend this house and this great island.
Owner response:I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The third floor deck is a great place to see the ocean and the fireworks. Also the pool is a refreshing place to relax after a day at the beach and its length makes it a great pool for swimming laps.
