Located on the shores of Lake Erie. A great cottage for the family or the fisherman. This is a unique upstairs cottage. It has a great view of the lake, there is a wonderful park area for children, swings, volleyball, basketball and swimming. The beach is absolutely wonderful. It is shallow for about 200 yards out. There are many sandbars and swim bouys marking the shallow swim area. There is a nice sandy beach area. A boardwalk and shaded grassy area for those who don't like sand and want to stay out of the sun. We rent from Saturday to Saturday.
This is a great place for the family. Many children in the park.
Everyone who comes loves it.

We could not have picked a better place to go on vacation. We arrived on saturday and stayed for a week and left on saturday. By tuesday we had the entire area basically to ourselves. There were a few families there, but everybody kept to there self and we did our own thing. Friday people started coming back for the weekend and asked how our week was. This is no luxorious 5 star hotel, but if you want to get away for the week, and have NOBODY bother you, this is the place for you. There was 8 of us that stayed here and had room at least 2 more. The apartment has AC which keeps the living room and kitchen quite cool, there are plenty of fans to keep the bedrooms cool at night. The beds aren't as comfortable as home, but are they ever? There are dishes, cooking utensils, silverware, and some bedding. Depending on your needs, you may need something extra, but there is a Kroger across the street, and a Walmart down the road. The beach is visible from the balcony. The water is very shallow for a great distance. Put-In-Bay is easily seen from the beach and the ferry and jet boat are easily accesible from your location. There is much to do, and much to see. Cedar Point is not far away either. This cottage/apartment is worth every penny. We had an excellent time and hope to return again.

If you’re the type of person that needs a luxurious place to spend the week, then this probably isn’t the place for you. If you are looking for reasonable accommodations at a reasonable price, then keep on reading. My 3 kids (6 yrs, 4 yrs, 10 months) loved the beach! I loved how easy it was to get to it. You don’t need to cross any streets and is just a short walk away (about 100 yds)! The water is very shallow; the description really is accurate about being shallow for 200 yds. It was also very private – most of the days, there were only 1 or 2 other families out there. The playground is in great condition and has something to do for any age – swings (infant and normal), playground, basketball and volleyball courts (balls available) along with a couple 2-person rocking chairs for mom and dad to snuggle while the kids run off some energy. Location was great. Krogers is across the street and Walmart is 5 min down the road. It seemed like every place we wanted to go to was within a 15 min drive. The apartment won’t get any awards for its craftsmanship but it’s obvious that the owners are working to keep things updated. Almost all the windows have been replaced recently. The furniture is comfortable and in good condition. The queen bed was comfortable. The twin beds seemed past their prime to me but our kids are young enough that they didn’t care. The oven and microwave are new and the fridge is in good condition. The kitchen cabinetry is dated but in working condition and is stocked with plenty of pots/pans/plates/utensils/etc if you don’t want to eat out every meal. The BR and bathroom doors are pocket doors – which was fun for our kids – but most didn’t have latches and the ones that did were hard to get latched. The AC unit cooled the living room and kitchen just fine but did a poor job of cooling the BRs. Fans are provided to help circulate the air to the BRs but there was a noticeable temp difference, especially during the hotter parts of the day. But they generally cooled off by bedtime.

The descriprions in the listing are accurate in their description of the property the photos represnt the property quite well, the property is old but is maintained well, the custodians and other tenants of the property are very friendly and helpful. I would reccomend this property to anyone who wants a reasonably priced vacation for their family in a great area! This is a great spot for familys with small children. There is an excellent play area for the little ones and a very nice area for them to swim in, the water is less than knee deep 100 yards from the shore. There is little to no traffic in the area which helps to provide ease of mind for the adults. Of course there is Lake Erie and some great fishing for the guys and nearby shopping for the gals. Put In Bay is a short distance away by Jet Express or Miller Ferry there there is lots of little shops where the women and men can shop. Within walking distance to the unit are grocery stores and resturants. My family hopes to return here in the hear future.
Owner response:THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE GREAT REVIEW. DID YOUR PACKAGE GET TO YOU? THANKS FOR RENTING.

This place was truly great for families! We have 2 children, aged 6 and 1 1/2, and they had a blast - which meant that we could all relax! The water is very shallow (as shown by the pictures), so even my 1 1/2 year old could walk far in without problem. The beach was lovely and an added plus was the shaded playground - complete with a volleyball net and basketball hoop for our oldest one. The Y- Condo is also very quiet, safe and full of very friendly, helpful people. We really enjoyed ourselves. An added bonus was that there is a Kroger's Grocery store only 1 block away, so we could walk to get our groceries. The inside of the cottage is older and could use some refurbishment, but we definitely felt that it was acceptable for our stay - and it was clean! We'll definitely stay again!
