This is a magnificent house overlooking one of the world's great views on the Caribbeans's most beautiful island. It simply doesn't get any better than this! The house is beautifully designed and appointed with geat care and attention to detail. The gardens surroundin the villa are stunning with many flowering trees and plantings. It feels like a true paradise. We loved the large, light-filled, open interior spaces, wrap around deck with views of rolling green mountains and the turquoise sea, and the pool area with two outside dining areas. Even when visiting some of St. John's most beautiful beaches, we eagerly awaited returning to the villa and its gorgeous pool area. The bungalow's rooftop deck was a favorite gathering place at night to view the millions of stars so visible and clear. The bedrooms are very large, private and luxurious with ensuite bathrooms and showers open to the sky. And the kitchen was so inviting and complete that we opted to cook in most evenings so we wouldn't have to leave our heavenly perch. Thank you Patrick and Carlos for everything you did to make our stay incredibly special and memorable. Your thoughtfulness and consideration added so much to our experience.

We loved staying at Villa Agel. What an amazing experience. We are so grateful to have had the luxury of living in such a beautiful spot. The attention to detail in every room and every square inch of space was amazing. So many beautiful touches and features to experience, not the least of which was the care provided while we were there. The basket upon our arrival was delightful! The views are to die for - perfect beauty in every direction! Thanks so much for sharing your villa with us. We appreciate it, and when we return to St. John's Villa Agel will be at the top of our list!

My family and I just returned from a wonderful stay at the Villa Agel St John. This place was absolutely beautiful place with its professionally decorated, spacious rooms and beautiful location where it made you want to wake up early to see the beautiful sunrise on the over the ocean. Patrick and Michael were extremely helpful in every process of the rental from answering questions, offering information about the island and welcoming us upon arrival. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants to enjoy the island.

Patrick- I just wanted to convey to you what a fantastic time we had a Villa Agel. After watching this house being constructed on previous visits to St. John and admiring the work, it was a real thrill to be able to stay there. You have done an amazing job in completing a special home. We were impressed with many of the small details like antique bath and plumbing fixtures, recessed sconce lighting and nightscape lighting. The whole house, with it's beautiful decorating and amazing construction, is a work of art. As a gardener myself I was especially impressed with the beautiful tropical landscaping. The orange double hibiscus outside the kitchen window was a favorite. And all the palms are wonderful. We are not huge beach people so some days we really enjoyed just hanging around the house- reading, swimming in the salt water pool or watching tropical squalls wash across Totola and East End. Evenings usually ended up on the "Star Gazing Deck" on the roof. When I expressed an interest in doing some sailing out of Coral Bay you took care of all the arrangements so thank you for that. We had a great time with Rick and Robin sailing on "Long Distance" Good luck with the house and your future endeavors. We hope Villa Agel remains a rental so that we might return. And it was a pleasure meeting you. Mark and Sheryl

We just returned from a wonderful week at Villa Agel. It was our first experience renting in Coral Bay and it did not disappoint. The owners were very welcoming and helpful in getting us acquainted with the home. Each room was beautifully decorated and sleeping was a dream. You can find sun or shade at anytime of day either on the front porch overlooking the bay or the pool and patio area with comfortable lounge chairs, a covered veranda with eating area, vine covered pergola and hammock. The kitchen was large and easy to cook in. All in all a beautiful and comfortable home. The shops and resturants of Coral Bay were within a couple of minutes by car. Most beaches were within a short drive as well. We were very pleased by the location. We hope to return again next year.

Where do I begin? My husband and I chose to have a beach -barefoot- wedding in St. John. Selecting the island was easy as it was my mother's favorite island of all the Caribbean. She passed away 4 1/2 years before our wedding day. Knowing how hard that day would be without her being there, I searched for a villa that would accommodate for my family. My dad gets the credit for finding Villa Agel. It was the perfect setting for the entire week! Mike & Patrick were fabulous! They graciously allowed us to hold the reception at the villa. I think having 3 active preachers in our families helped them understand our wedding wasn't going to be the typical beach wedding that could easily get out of control. :) Our families have never experienced any home as breathtaking as Villa Agel. Our wedding planner, Shea of KatiLady Katering, did a phenomenal job decorating the villa and providing for our guests. Everyone was thrilled to have been able to 'experience' Villa Agel. I could easily elaborate more on this! The views, kitchen, and decorations are mentioned well in the other comments. What hasn't been mentioned yet are the beautiful birds, caterpillars, fabulous location, and vegetation! The plants are unbelievably lush! Mike and Patrick have done a fabulous job with all the landscaping details! There is honestly not one detail that has been overlooked. Even the contents of the welcome basket are perfectly selected! My husband and I returned to the States with some fabulous ideas for our ideal home we plan on building in the upcoming months. We are grateful and appreciative of Mike & Patrick for opening their home to visitors like us! One last item, if you make Villa Agel your place to stay once, beware as you will never want to stay anywhere else in St. John ever again. :) We are obviously planning a return trip!

I can honestly say that my stay at Villa Agel in February was the best vacation I've taken! The house is beautiful and has the greatest view. There was more than enough room for the 8 of us. Mike and Patrick really went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. My family has already talked about when we can go back! I have recommended the home to everyone I've talked to that is interested in going on vacation. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

My family stayed at the Villa Agel last February. All 8 of us were blown away by the house and the view. We had a great vacation and the house was amazing. IF you stay here you will not be disappointed. Mike and Patrick are great hosts and they have thought of everything. The advice they provided regarding places to go and things to do was very helpful! I would definitely recommend the Villa Agel!

Our stay at Villa Agel was wonderful. And that doesn't even begin to describe it. There are not enough words to describe it fully. The house and grounds are beautiful with many special details. It is very private, with beautiful views stretching across the lovely aqua waters and white sailboats to nearby hilly islands. We especially loved watching the sun rise from our bedroom each morning, showering in the stone shower, enjoying breakfast on the terrace or in the garden, lulling in the hammock, laughing in the pool and viewing the stars from the rooftop. It was a very romantic family vacation. Mike and Patrick were excellent hosts and kept the villa in top notch shape. It was a dream vacation and there isn't a day we aren't dreaming about returning. It was an incredibly relaxing, soul feeding vacation for our family. It's not often we have vacationed and wanted to bring the villa home with us, nor considered replacing our kitchen appliances to those in the villa. The kitchen is fabulous. The island is beautiful and there are many places to explore. We found the snorkelling, scuba diving and sailing excellent. Thank you Mike and Patrick for sharing your place with us!

Words can't begin to describe one's stay at Villa Agel, perfectly situated above Coral Bay with breath-taking views. Don't miss sunrise or sunset from the roof deck of the pool house. You won't be sorry! The house is beauifully decorated to the point that you won't be able to choose your favorite thing. As a gourmet, I loved the kitchen. It has everything you could want. Then again, there was the relaxing patio and pool. Got to experience it under the stars. Another must do! Then, off to a most comfortable bed for sweet dreams. Michael and Patrick are perfect hosts. They have forgotten nothing and are quick to offer suggestions and advice to make your stay even more enjoyable. Make sure to rent a 4wd vehicle to get around the island and explore all it has to offer. Do yourself a favor, stay at Villa Agel, I promise it will be one of your most memorable vacations ever.

Villa Angel was truly a pleasure. We kept waiting for a catch, but there wasn't one. The Villa is beautiful. The rooms were spotless. The Kitchen was excellent and fully supplied. The owners were very helpful in guiding us to restaurants and beaches. When you get there you should stand on the eastern porch and just take in the magnificent view and fabulous ocean breeze. We look forward to going back next year.

Wonderful home, setting and location. Nothing - absolutely nothing - was lacking. From arrival to departure, our hosts met our every need. Bedrooms were very ample and nicely done -- and the indoor/outdoor showers in 2 of them were extremely soothing and special. Great great kitchen with all the amenities. Pool and seating area around pool were perfect for our family ranging in age from 6 to 88. Coral Bay/east end of the island is clearly a great place to be - we went to Cruz Bay only once for lunch.

Villa Agel is indeed a special property. It's elegant, sophisticated and understated but not stuffy. The location is supreme, perched high above Coral Bay with exquisite wrap around views. The villa is very private, yet a short drive to the stores, restaurants and beaches on this tranquil side of the island. The villa is beautifully appointed. The furnishings are exceptional and all the elements of interior design blend harmoniously. Check out the oversized armoire and the dark wood bedframes. I wanted to come home and redecorate. The dining room table is fantastic--and huge. The landscaping and grounds are thoughtful and lush. The pool area is private and very pretty. We enjoyed memorable afternoon yoga sessions here with the tropical breezes blowing up from Coral Bay. The owners are nice and very helpful with all sorts of recommendations on where to eat, beach, snorkel and shop. Make sure to ask them for directions to find local organic greens. They were so good we wanted to bring some home in our suitcase. I highly recommend Villa Agel. It's a 5 star keeper.

My pictures don't begin to tell the whole story of the amazing Villa Agel we called home for 8 days last month. Our family is grieving over the recent death of our husband, father, and grandfather and this reunion in such a beautiful and peaceful setting was healing for us all. The first impression was welcoming elegance and the attention to details like fresh flowers in every room and a "welcome basket of snacks" was wonderful. We found everything we needed for everyday life, from can openers to laundry soap. What was special about our visit? Craftsmanship of woodwork and doors, impressive architecture of arches, verandas and the unique floor plan, plenty of space for a large group or cozy corners by the pool for the kid in all of us. I could definitely get my mail here! Thanks so much. Naomi Kellam, Kalispell, MT

We had an amazing time at this villa. I went down with my wife and my family from Montana met us there (mom, sister, brother with his wife and 3 young kids). I had been to the USVI a few times and always wanted to get a villa instead of staying at the resorts. There was more than enough room for all of us to be together and yet still have privacy from each other if we wanted it. The home was beautiful, the rooms were spacious and unique, the pool and pool area were almost too good (kept us from going to the beach as often), the kitchen really is equipped with everything needed for a gourmet cook, and the property in general was spectacular. The owners were easy to deal with, and this vacation could not have been better. Choose this villa, and you will not be disappointed.

Our family stayed at Villa Agel in Dec. 2006. It was absolutely gorgeous--it is spacious, beautifully furnished, tastefully decorated, and sparkling clean. The views from everywhere in the house are simply astonishing. The pool is wonderful and we enjoyed being on the quieter side of the island, yet still close to restaurants and beaches. The caretakers could not have been nicer or more helpful. We will definitely return!

St. John has been one of our favorite places for many years. This year we persuaded two other couples to join us for a week, and set about finding the right house for the six of us. We've seen more and more "villas" being built and were hoping to avoid one of those houses built to satisfy the tourist rental formula...they can be so soul-less. When we arrived at Villa Agel, we joked that we had to pinch ourselves to be sure it was real. The views, the house itself, the landscaping, the incredible pool--it was the real deal. When we heard from the current owners that it had been built over time by an amazing craftsman who bought the land years ago, we understood why. The house itself is so beautiful. And we loved the layout. The bedrooms were well-separated from each other. There were so many different indoor and outdoor areas that we never felt we were crowding each other. The kitchen was big and gorgeous and the dining room was wonderful. The pool--well, it was the best. I'm embarrassed to say that I only went to the beach twice that week. It was just completely relaxing and I loved the palms, the hummingbirds, the flowers. The six of us enjoyed getting together in and around the pool late every afternoon. This was the first time we'd vacationed with other couples, and we had a great time...I don't know why we didn't do it sooner. We loved Villa Agel, and would heartily recommend it for friends or families looking for a great place to stay on St. John.
